Helloooooooooo every one!

Trish, We did not go on a camping trip. Wish we could. Maybe soon.

Well I went to the folow up appointment to my back Doctor. And he said some thing amazing and which gave us all hope that I will be pain free soon. He told us that every thing looked good, no herniated disks or anything like that. All I have is a real bad case of arthratis. Right where the rods begin and end. So he sugested getting some relief from the pain by getting cortazone shots instead of having surgery. We were all very excited that I did not have to have the surgery. I am sooooooooo happy! When we left the place they told us that the company that will be giving me the shots will call me in about 2 weeks. I was a little disappointed with that but I guess I can wait another 2 weeks. Well I got a suprise Monday and there office called me to set up an appointment with me for my first set of shots! It will be this Firday at 10:00. They will have to sedate me but not completely. I can't have anything to eat or drink 6 hours prior to the procedure. Blech. I am really praying that this treatment will help. I'm sure it will because after all I am experiencing arthritis pain, nothing more. Thats my exciting my news. I can hardly wait to get some relief from this back pain!!!!

Bo is doing good. He is still recovering from an allergy attack. Almost better. Busy with work.

We want to put hardwood down on in the lifving room. dining room. kitchen, hallway, bathroom. My dad says no because to quote "Its just not done!" What are your opinions?

Well I gotta get to work. I slept in late this morning and half the morning is over with.

Thanks for the prayers!

That's fantastic news, Mo!Wooooooooooo hoooooooooooooo!!!

About the floor, I've put hardwood, or more accurately wood laminate, flooring throughout entire 3000 sq ft homes. Upstairs, downstairs, living room, kitchen, even bathroom. I say if it looks good and you can afford it then go for it!

Perhaps Dad is worried about a return on the investment?

Great news about your back!

Hey Mo! That's WONDERFUL news! I'm glad it's happening so quickly! Woo hooo!

Putting in hardwood (as opposed to laminate) floors is an investment to your home. When we were redoing our kitchen and compared costs, we found hardwood was about the same cost as good vinyl. You might want to do some exploring. Ask several flooring companies (who do hardwood) to come and give you a quote. It doesn't cost to do this and you have no obligation to hire any of them. But it will give you an idea of cost. If they do other kinds of flooring, you might ask them to give you comparative costs.

Thanks Maggie. According to my Dad,"Its just not done" to put hard wood through out the whole house. He claims it will make the room look darker. We are thinking though not if we get a lighter color wood! Yea, I am really looking forward to being pain free from my back. I hope those shots take affect quick!

Our entire house is hardwood. Most of the homes in my neighbourhood are and they look very classy. Our floors are light. And the wood gives the rooms warmth. If your dad isn't paying for it, do what you want!

Yeah, I know, Maggie. I loved your wood floors! They were pretty!

My best bet is to look on the internet and prove to my Dad that the wood floors would help the house sell not hinder. And I finally found an article on that! I'm printing every thing I can get my hands on to show him the benefits of wood floors. Why does he have to make things so hard? Sigh.......

Hellooooooooooooooo PC! Thanks for putting in your vote and input.

I think I have enough material now, and health concerns that I can put in front to push for the wood flooring.

Keep praying that I won't have any difficulty in convincing my dad about it. Not sure when I will talk to him about it just yet.

Time to go. Every one have a blessed evening in the Lord!

Bye!

WoooooooooooHoooooooooooooo Moooooo!!!!!!! . . . what great news!!!! . . . so happy for you, and I'll be praying, also, that the shots do the trick!

As for the hardwood, I WISH we could afford that! But, lacking funds for that, I'm hoping for laminate in the next year. Yes, it certainly would be a great investment in your home! Your dad is likely from the old school that considered carpet a great upgrade . . . trends change with the times. Now that we've all had carpet for decades, we realize just how much dirt & germs it can harbor, not to mention odor and have reverted, so to speak, back to hardwood. Go for it!

(((((Mo)))))) What terrific news and I will be praying that this treatment is the answer!

These days, wood floors are a big deal. Maybe you could find some flooring facts to show your dad. About what is big right now.

Hellooooooo every one!

I had typed out a reply yesterday but then I got the timed out thing and forgot what I had posted. Then I got interupted so now to start over again. Sigh.....

Helloooooooooooo Leah! Yea, I know about the trends changing thing. And I definately know that carpets can hold oder!

LOL, Ben! We all ready have throw rugs down on the floor.

Thanks Awed, for the prayers! I really need them! I've all ready found some facts on the internet about the carpeting verses wood flooring thing. Thanks for the idea.

Hellooooooooooooooo Trish! Thanks for the prayers!

Well, tomorrow is the day that I have the first session of cortozone shots (sp?). Now i'm getting a little nervous but not much. The only thing I worry about is that I need some thing to drink in the morning when I first get up, but I don't think I will be able to have anything to drink at all. Sigh. That will be the hardest thing for me. Maybe I won't take a Singulair tonight. That seems to dry my mouth out. For those of you that don't know what Singulair it is an allergy medicine.

Well my parents called me last evening. An unusual time for them call. My Mom was soooooo happy that she had some one her side against us getting wood flooring. Sigh. She goes to a place to use a pool, it is easier for her to excercise that way, and she has not seen this one person for quite a while. Mom then proceeds to find out what happened to this woman. This woman told her that she had fallen and damaged her back. It took a few months for it to heal. My Mom asks what type of floor this women has and she tell my Mom that it is a wood floor! She slipped and fell on the wood floor. Not sure what she was doing that made her fall. Mom says that this lady in in her 50's to prover a point. So my Mom tells this lady that her daughter and son in-law are thinking about getting a wood flooring and this lady told her to tell them not too! She wishes that she doesn't have wood flooring any more.

Sooooooooooooo what do you think of that!? SIgh. We are still wanting to get wood flooring.

Thanks for the prayers!

Vinyl floors can have the same problem. And carpeting is MUCH harder to keep clean.

I'll be praying for you, Mo. I'm sure it has to be a little frightening.

Mo, you don't have to have a really slick finish on the wood floor. But yes, they will be more slippery than carpet for sure, but you really have to weigh what's important to you and how you're going to use it . . are you going to walk around in your sock feet a lot?? If so, you may want to get you some of those socks that have rubber stuff on the bottom so you don't slip -- or get used to wearing rubber soled slippers instead. But to me, that would be a small concession to make to be able to have cleaner floors.

I don't understand the reasoning behind your parents' opinion, or I guess why they care what kind of floors you have. Are they really worried about you falling?? That doesn't seem very reasonable.

Hellooooooooooo every one!

Trish, I can now commiserate (right word?) with you about those shots. They're not fun but oh so worth it if they work!

I am back from my cortisone shots. Thanks to Trish for the spelling of that word. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. They gave me about 5 to 7 shots in different areas of my back that they have marked and that I had complained about. If they had me sedated I did not feel any sensation at all of being sedated. All though, I am now tired and ready to take a nap! After the procedure my parents took me out to eat. I had yummy biscuits and gravy. Not as good as Leah's but they were still yummy. Specially since I have not been able to master cooking that.

Well I told my parents that we are still going to do all hard wood flooring in the house. My dad says it will make the house to look dark. But, they were not going to argue with us about it any more. They just said that they would not come over any more. Shrugs.

Maggie, I understand what you are talking about. They say that wood would be just the same as carpeting, hard to keep clean.

Leah, maybe that is the case. They are worried that we might fall.

I mentioned to them what if we got congoleum for the hallway, the kitchen and bathroon. They said that would be okay. Then I said, but you will not like what color we would get if we got it! And they asked what color, and I said wood coloring ofcourse! LOL! They didn't think it so funny though. My Dad is exasperated with us.

Well now that I have written in I am going to go take that long long nap. This morning I woke up calling my Hubsands name! And that was AFTER I took him to work and went back to sleep. He is doing fine htough. strange experience, though. Oh! I can't pick him up tonight. No driving for me till tomorrow afternoon. sigh.

Well thats all for now. Time to take that nap!

Thanks for the prayers! They work! All the time!
