Hey everybody, how are we doing today? I'm doing pretty fine tonight, albiet eating too much candy and other carbs as usual. I don't want to get on the scale tomorrow, but I need to measure my progress so that I can make needed changes in my healthy eating plan. I watched two hours of that "Jericho" show tonight. It is pretty frightening how this world would be if what happened in the first episode of that show would ever happen here. I believe though, that according to my understanding of Bible prophesy, Jesus will return for His own in the Rapture before that event takes place, so I'm not worried about it. Even if Jesus didn't return before it happened, I'm pretty sure that the effects of the event would be such that I'd probably not survive it anyway. Either way, I will be in heaven with Jesus, however, I'd prefer the Rapture to the other. Today's devotions focused on the Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13:18-23. I find myself identifying with the seed that falls on good ground, though sometimes I feel like the seeds that is caught up in the thorns. In other words, sometimes I let worldly concerns get in the way of my Bible reading and prayer, making me a miserable and ineffective Christian, helpless against Satan's attacks. Other times I feel like the seed that falls on stony ground that springs up then withers away because it has no root. Sometimes I wonder what I would do if I were called upon to suffer for and/or die for Christ. As it stands right now, I believe with all my heart and soul that I would make the right choice and choose my Savior over my life and death. I also know that I don't need to be afraid, that the Holy Spirit will give me the courage and words to speak of in the day should it become necessary to do so. Tying this back to the Jericho program, if this world became like it does on that program, then it is possible that there would be increased persecution of Christians in what was left of the world. I pray that the Rapture happens before that time ever comes if it ever happens at all. If it ever happens, however, I pray that Christians will have the courage to follow the Holy Spirit's leading to choose Jesus over their lives. I know I'm getting long winded here, but I wanted to express my concern about this topic in hopes that anyone who is wondering about this same thing will find comfort in God's Word. I encourage you to meditate on the verses in 1 Corinthians 15:51-58, where it speaks of our final victory in Christ. May all of you have a pleasant evening and a wonderful day tomorrow.! [:)]
