Morning everyone! I am pretty proud of myself so far. I did only manage to force down four glasses of water yesterday but that is MUCH better than my normal ZERO glasses of water right? I've already finished glass of water #1 for today too. WOOHOO. I had a Lean Cuisine cheese pizza for dinner last night and my snack was a fat free container of chocolate pudding (surprisingly it IS in the diet plan I just subscribed to!). Today I've had one piece of whole wheat toast with Smart Balance buttery spread & simply fruit strawberry spread, a half a glass of OJ, a cup of coffee and a small portion of Smart Start cereal. I have my slimfast shake with for lunch and a yogurt.

Update...I just tracked my calories, etc on sparkpeople and I had 962 calories yesterday and 15 grams of fat! I'm pretty darn proud of myself.

This past weekend was horrible. We ate out everyday since Friday. I got on the scale today and I gained 6 lbs since the beginning of last week!! YIKES!!!!!!

Today I made sure to start out good. Breakfast was two eggs, toast, and a glass of oj. I'm not sure what I will do for lunch. I didn't bring anything to work, so hopefully the caf will have something good.

Last night we had a good dinner, pork chop, asparagus, cream corn, and rice pilaf. I ate more veggies than anything, and did as someone suggest earlier, eat veggies, meat, then rice. I ate a good meal and was full. No snack needed! (I did grab a brownie while making dinner). Now today...I ate a couple of brownies and milk when I got up, so I made that my breakfast. Ate a piece of bacon and unsweetened apple juice while hubby ate breakfast. Yesterday at the gym, i was there 45 minutes, I walked on the treadmill, ran on the elliptical, and did some stair machine. I was sweating and breathing hard so I think I did pretty good.

I walked out the door today and forgot my breakfast/lunch again. I'm broke till Friday so I'm going to pray during my lunch half-hour and see if God gives me any divine advice about how to keep the inches dropping. I'm starting to get a headache so I might grab a bag of pretzels from the machine...if I can scrounge up the money.

Can't wait till payday! ;)

Meghan! That's great about the 900+ calories for yesterday!! I had a friend who ate nothing but lean cuisines for lunch and dinner...tried to stay under 1500 calories and she's lost about 40 lbs this year. She did it for about 6 months.

I'm just about finished with my water for today. I had slimfast for breakfast. I walked up a flight of stairs twice today. I'm trying not to be proud since I don't want to fall. However, I'm bragging on the Lord, because He reminded me to do these things.

Does sparkpople give you a plan to follow or does it just keep track for you? I went to join but it says i can't because i'm breastfeeding. it sent mt to babyfit but that seems like it is more for pregnant women than nursing women.

I just want something to help me keep track of how i m eating and how much i am exercising.

Lexie, you can also use fitday.com. It is more simplistic. I use both. Sparkpeople can give you suggestions, but mainly just tracks it for you. But maybe try fitday.

Surely if you're just wanting to keep track of those things you don't need to say that you're breastfeeding? I suspect that it's there for legal reasons.

Yeah, thats why I was wondering if it was an actual plan made up for you or if I could just keep track. I'll give it a try, I just didn't want it telling me I was consuming too many calories or anything like that.

I'm on glass of water #3 today.....and I'm currently sipping my slimfast lunch. I just walked to the post office which is about 4 blocks so I could get stamps for Jimmy's party invites. heh, sad but that's a lot of walking for me lately.

It may well keep track of the total calories ~ and it may tell you that you're exceeding the recommended amount ~ but you will have to add on the amount of calories you're consuming by breastfeeding and so make adjustments.

I don't know if there is a 'perfect' system unless it's 1-2-1 where you can discuss it ~ if you can accept the limitations though, it'd probably work for what you wanted it for.

That's true agapetos.

I just signed up for it. I like it, and I will just have to accept that I will never make the calories goal they set for me! But I really like the exercise plan, and how you can switch strength exercises (I didn't like the ones they gave me!) It is so nice to have something tracking it for me. I did the food diary once where I kept track of everything...I think it lasted about 3 days (it didn't help that the first day I ate out for dinner and ended up consuming 3000 calories over the day).

Yes, you do need to say that you are beastfeeding because you need more calories and water consumption than when you are not. When I first joined myfooddiary.com, I pmed the nutritionist and she figured out what I needed everyday.

So far I have had instant oatmeal and coffee for breakfast. I am not sure what I am having for the rest of the day.

Per sparkpeople I think I can have somewhere between 1220-1500 calories per day and still meet my goals of losing 2 lbs a week. I was still somewhat hungry yesterday so I upped it a little and I'm going to be at 1300 tonight (if I don't cheat). I'm already feeling far less hungry.

This is a great forum! I'm in need of some support, myself! I'm trying to keep to 2000 or less, but it's so hard!!!! I need to lose quite a bit of weight, and I know I should cut back on the calories even more.

I had a bad day yesterday. I ate two pieces of pizza, 4-5 pieces of candy, including sugared jelly candy, and didn't drink enough water. I know I need to do better than this if I'm to lose weight.

Today, I've had one piece of pizza, 2 pieces of sugar free candy and 2 slices of toast so far, adding up to about 74gm of carbs. I plan to have sugar-free pudding with reddiwhip for dessert. and that'll be it for carbs today. I haven't began drinking water yet today and I need to, for I notice that I get lightheaded and my blood pressure drops when I'm dehydrated.

Lexie said that it wouldn't let her join because she said she was breastfeeding (at least that was my understanding).

Can I say something about calories in general... counting them isn't something I do because it's hard to do using a book and I don't turn my computer on every day to use a site ~ and I don't think I've yet found a free site that is in the UK ~ and so many of the foods are different ~ I'm not dedicated enough to enter everything as a custom food.

But I'm not against people counting calories. What does need to be done though is that people don't go too low on the calories thinking that that is better for them. If we get too few calories our bodies will go into starvation mode and hord any calories it does get.

Please just take care when you're counting calories.

I had a dubious day. I woke late and didn't eat until 3ish ~ and then only a couple of satsumas. I had a meat pie with lots of sprouts in the evening, followed by a few more satsumas. I'm drinking a large glass of skimmed milk now.

I’ve decided I'm fat not fat, it’s just that my body is so "energy efficient” that it stores every calorie.

I've noticed that every time I start to lose weight, my husband starts to gain because he makes up for my lack of eating. Tonight we had a casserole for dinner (in an 8x8 pan). I ate about 1/6 of the casserole and he ate the entire rest of it Any suggestions there? He needs to lose weight, too, but I can't convince him to try. I don't want my sudden interest in becoming more healthy to affect him negatively. *sigh*

I've read all the discussion about good places to go to track calories. I belong to slimfast.com. Although I quit doing slimfast, I still use the nutrition counter.. I just delete the slim fast food and plug in what I really ate. It recognizes almost everything along with its nutritional value. They name everything- for example, calories, iron, fat, sodium, carbs, exc. for each meal as well as the entire day. They also have an activity log with tips how to exercise more efficiently. Oh and there's also a buddy system for support. I'd especially recommend it to people who are doing slimfast- it helped me lose weight on the plan so much easier.
