Hello everyone! I don't get to post everyday. Sorry! But I am doing well still. I am down 1.8 this week! Yeah! I had a bad food week this past week. I am starting to get bored with the food. Funny, I can eat Taco Bell everyday, but not healthy. :) But I am committed.

Hey everyone.. .I am steady gaining wieght .....I will be 40 on the 26th of this month...so not only am I over wieght...I am feeling the pressure of getting older. Not anything that I can do about the age...but the wieght I can put a stop to. I just find it very hard to do this by myself. I am 180...... 5´5. I hope to get back down to 130... .I am in a 18 ...it is so heartbreaking for me...I guess because I want my husband to be pleased....I know we shouldn´t want to lose wieght for someone else...But this is a big factor in my wanting to lose wieght. Plus I want to be healthy....I want to look good. I hope I can start tonight being more dedicated to losing the pounds... brenda

Welcome Faith2cGod. I feel much the same way you do. I want to stop gaining weight because it is very difficult to find clothes to fit. Are you getting any exercise? Some days I'm not able to exercise and other days it is very little. On the days that it is just a little, I try to exercise again later. Peace, Anne

Exercise....I´m tempted to say...what´s that? But seriously.....I just find it to be boring...not so much fun...it would be so much easier...and something I could stick to if I had a partner....I have a friend that use to walk track with me up town....but that is not happening now...too much to do...everything is so fast paced...exercise seems to take back burner. I would love to have someone that, together we could hold eachother accountable. I thought about joining the gym...still might do that. I can just picture me slim...and happy. Gotta have a vision. Peace to you too, Brenda

Exercise can be pretty boring, whether you do it alone or with someone. Sometimes it just takes a little time to find the exercise that we enjoy doing and can do regularly enough to help keep us fit. I found it really helpful to go to gym classes (they weren't all skinny folk!) because there was a bit more comradeship than just going to the gym ~ people would go regularly so you got to know them.

You can do exercise, and find something that is fun. I love skating, and it is great exercise. Maybe you like hiking or just walking with husband is exercise. Bike ride is fun for some people. I don't really like it. Swimming is nice. You don't have to sweat a lot for it to be exercise.

hi I am new here but I want to say this topic is so up my alley. I have lost 4.5 pounds now and working on 200 so I am having challenges. I am at the point of not wanting to work out but I keep going and seeing results. I would love to not be the biggest person in the place but I know that one day I will not be. I know that God gives me the strength and dedication to do what I need to do.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to stop by and see how everyone was doing. I am eating less and logging in all of my foods over at CalorieCount.com. I am under a lot of stress and pressure at this point in my life and I haven't been turning to food for comfort. I have learned not to over the past few years of reading the ThinWithin book. Have a great Day!

Weight can and does fluctuate. It will especially fluctuate during your cycle, some women can gain a good 7lbs before their period. Other than that ~ you may be gaining more muscle than losing fat ~ which may make it look like you are gaining weight, when you're not, you're gaining muscle. You may even have simply moved your scales (or weighed yourself at a different time of the day) and caused them to give you a different reading. Be sure not to just use one method to see how you're progressing on your weight loss ~ look at how your clothes fit, what the tape measure says, your body fat %...

Hi, iluvdarci! I'm not sure if this is "inspiring" or not, but my husband lost FOUR pounds this week (!!!) riding a stationary bike. It fits easily into his schedule, and he's able to do about an hour a day while multitasking with the ever-important habit of watching ESPN. More than the weight, though, I'm excited to think about how this kind of exercise is lowering cholesterol and blood pressure. Before I had kids, I lost and maintained my weight by running. It's not such a viable option now, though, with the weather being so cold and my kids being too little to take out into the strong wind. I have TaeBo videos that I use (along with the bike) after I put the babies to sleep. They work really well and get my heartrate up as much as jogging does. With a couple of different options open to me and with the conveinence of having what I need right here at home, I find that it's a lot easier to make myself exercise and to not get bored as easily. And since my husband is also being consistent with it, we're able to encourage each other. Hope this gives you some ideas and helps a little!

SO THERE, SNARKY DOC One week ... one week .... one week. In just one week, I have an appointment with the doctor that told me on 8-22-07 that the ONLY way I could lose weight and get my diabetes under control was to (1) have gastric bypass surgery or (2) drink weight loss shakes for the rest of my life. When I told her that neither option was acceptable, she asked what my plan was. "Eat more vegetables," I replied. "That will never work," she replied. I left her office in tears, totally devastated and crushed at her prediction that I would soon weigh 400 pounds. Fast forward six months to today. Guess what? My diabetes is under control. I didn't gain weight to reach 400 pounds. I didn't have gastric bypass surgery. And I didn't drink any of those darn shakes, either. Know what I did? I ATE MORE VEGETABLES. And more whole grains. And more lean protein. I counted calories. I counted carbohydrates. I learned about nutrition. And I started a simple exercise program. And I trusted God for His provision. I haven't been back to the doctor in 6 months. Sure, I went to the lab in October for a 2-month blood test, and I went back to the lab three months later in January ... but my appointment on February 27 is the first time she's seen me in six months. AND SHE HAS NO IDEA I'VE LOST 80 POUNDS. Starting weight: 369 pounds Current weight: 289 pounds Loss in 6 months: 80 pounds Diabetes status: Controlled. Down from 4 meds to 2 meds. Cholesterol status: Normal So do you think it will be bad to gloat, just a little, at my appointment?!?!?
