HisChild I am praying for you....we can do this!!

I am on day 4...I am teary eyed at work...my boss is back from Cambodia...and well I didn't do his job as he would....he is being critical....yet told him I need him to be cool today....as I did my best these past two weeks with the volume of work that came in. It was CRAZY busy ....Told him this is day 4 of non smoking...my emotions are a tad on edge (he said I am way over the edge... ) This too shall pass.....Please pray for me...as I am on an emotional edge....letting go & giving it to God....yet...can feel that internal edginess.......I will not give satan a foothold and let him destroy the good works God has blessed me with!! I know I am doing this in His strength....I am not white knuckling it....yet...the physical edginess is there....I am thankful that He is carrying me today....all I want to do is sleep & eat these days away.....again....this too shall pass!

blew it again today.
Tomorrow is another day.

Yup, yup, yup. Same here.

So where are you getting these cigarettes, making provision for the flesh by keeping some "just in case" an urge hits you?

I don't believe you seriously want to do anything besides feed your addiction...

I'm praying! Believe it or not, you are on the verge of a major milestone. The nicotine physical withdrawal should be mostly over and your body and mind are beginning to heal. Cravings should begin to last less and become less intense. And, if you don't keep a "just in case" cigarette or two, you will be able to learn how to deal with the brief periods of triggers.

Your reward for trusting the Lord through 5 days of intense struggle will be rewarded with strength you didn't think you'd ever feel just a week ago.

You CAN Trust Him!

Conservatively, I figure that I've saved over $500 since quitting. Not a bad incentive when you aren't rich...

It comes out to about $1277 a year... Could you stand that kind of raise?

Spot in brain may control smoking urge

Think this'll work on that spot? Anyone up for some exploratory surgury? I'll be your victim patient.

Armor of God
Picture yourself putting on:

The Helmet of Salvation
Re-claim and celebrate your salvation.
Let Christ give you his mind and thoughts

The Breastplate of Righteousness
Get right with God by confessing any sin.
Invite Jesus to make you into his likeness.

The Belt of Truth
Ask Jesus to show you the truth about yourself.
Ask for discernment to know God's leading from that of the Evil One.

The Sandals of Peace
Exhale fully and breathe in the Peace of God.
Invite the Holy Spirit to show you anyone with whom you need to be reconciled. Forgive them and seek your forgiveness.

The Shield of Faith
Envision yourself with a mighty shield, capturing and extinguishing doubts and temptations.

The Sword of the Spirit
Take the sword to cut yourself free from anything that restricts you from living in faith and health. Praise God for His Word, in the Bible and in life.

"Give us, O Lord, steadfast hearts that cannot be dragged down by false loves; give us courageous hearts that cannot be worn down by trouble; give us righteous hearts that cannot be sidetracked by unholy or unworthy goals. Give to us also, our Lord and God, understanding to know You, wisdom to recognize You, and a faithfulness that will bring us to see You face to face."

Come on Quitters, report in.

There has been nothing "magical" about my quit. It was very tough the first 3-5 days, so I had to devote most of my energy to beating back nicotine urges. Since then, there have been a series of lessening craves and triggers. I've had to deal with each one as it came.

But I have not awakened to a single morning in the past 152 days feeling sorry that I didn't cave in to tobacco or nicotine on the previous day.

The only way YOU can reach 150 days tobacco & nicotine free is one, single, solitary day at a time without using the horrid drug nicotine. In His strength, in His courage, in His grace...

...What He's done for others, He'll do for YOU!!!!

I won't take that as a derogatory name...

I'm in the same pattern as before. Still taking the occasional puff, esp in the evenings after getting home. They days at work are kinda tough, and I miss the time I used to take to go outside and smoke. Have chipped a tooth with a sucker (dum-dums last longer than tootsie rools) and wonder what kind of decay I am doing to what teeth I have left in my mouth.

I go to step two of the patch tonight.

Praise the Lord that you are 9 days clean instead of 9 more days of planning on getting ready to think about possibly getting started someday soon - like I did for more than 20 years.

i am sorry for those that have not been able to quite yet. With the new month starting maybe it's time to up your willpower and limit more the availability to smoke.
You all can do this, but it will take a definite choice to not take that cigarette when you really really really want to. It will get easier to turn it down though.
