[:D]Wow....little did we know when we went to eat on Friday, February 9th, that we were eating with a celebrity. Let me start off by introducing myself and husband. My name is Wendy, my husbands is Tim, we just celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary [sm=heart.gif] in Pigeon Forge this weekend. Tim and I have been together for going on 24 years now. We have 3 girls ages, 16, 15 and 11. We met when I was 11 and Tim had just turned 14, at a homecoming at our church in August '83. Tim brought me a Christmas present that year and we've pretty much been together ever since. Anyway back to why I'm posting something on this forum. Tim and I were looking for somewhere to eat on Friday and remembered that we had seen a BBQ [sm=pig.gif] place on Winfield Dunn Hwy in Sevierville as we were passing through going to our cabin on Thursday. We decided to check this place out since the day before, the parking lot was loaded with cars and well, where there are cars there is usually good food. Boy were we wrong.....the food wasnt good, THE FOOD WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD, BETTER THAN GOOD, IT WAS THE BEST BBQ WE HAVE EVER HAD. Not only was the food wonderful, the fellowship was great as well. Until Friday, I had never been in a food establishment that from the moment you walked in the door you felt as though you were at home and belonged there. Between the food and the fellowship you couldn't ask for a better place. While there I seen that Tony had some of his CD's for sale and bought 2 of them, at that point, not realizing just who he is. Tim and I listened [sm=headphone.gif] to both of them while on our trip over the Smoky Mountains on Saturday going to Bryson City, NC. You talk about a Godly experience, the Smoky Mountains at Newfound Gap in my opinion is already a religious experience anyway, but you add Tony's music [sm=icon_smile_sing.gif] and being with the one that God has so graciously blessed you with, it is something that is indescribable. [sm=icon_smile_halo.gif] I can honestly say that I felt Gods presence our entire trip this past weekend. This trip has been a religious experience for me thats for sure. [sm=icon_smile_fish.gif] Now, back to Tony's restaurant, the food there is so good that we stopped on our way back home [sm=car.gif] to Virginia to get something to eat there and got 2 racks and a pound to take home to share the with our children. When we got home I did a search for "Tony Gore" on the internet and ran across this forum. I didnt realize it while we were eating on Sunday though, that we were also eating in the company of Tim (TCPRUITT). I say this because of a description he gave of himself in an earlier post. He noted in that post that he looks like Santa [sm=icon_smile_santa.gif], well for anyone who hasnt seen him before, he sure does. I'm sure he didnt see us, we were sitting at the second table on the right from the door and when they came in they headed for the back on the left. Anyway as I continue to ramble let me say this: Tony, if you read this, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful food, fellowship and music and for being a part of my life this weekend. I'll try and catch you the next time you are in Danville or maybe you could come to Lynchburg sometime soon...hint hint. Oh and the offer to manage your restaurant, should you decide to open one up here in Lynchburg, still stands...hint hint again. You'll just have to bring your Pit Master [sm=chef.gif] up with you to train someone to run the smokehouse as good as he does. I wish you well Tony in all that you are doing and hope that you are still there when we come back over the summer. I have no doubt that you'll still be there. You never know, Tim and I may just get a wild hair and decide to take the kids out for supper one night...four hours from home.[sm=car.gif] Take care and God bless![sm=angel.gif]
