Just got in from work. I agree with zmanfan38. It was good food and great fellowship. Just wait until some of you have the chance to meet Riley. What a sweetheart. Parents weren't bad either. Had a great time. And to meet folks you know only from the forums, that was neat also. Hope to see some of you others there soon. We hope to go after church Sunday with a group. Just can't get enough of T's good food. Thanks Christi and hope to see y'all again soon.
Please remember Mrs. C. and myself as we travel Sunday thru Wednesday to Georgia for pre-school photos. We appreciate it. And hope to have a computer that works this trip.
Santa

Christi, We had BBQ at about the same time, so I was thinking about your family and Santa's family. We had it at [sm=pig.gif], KY, at the Porky [sm=pig.gif] Diner. (My apologies to Santa for mentioning another place in his thread.) We did think it was neat to eat BBQ pork at a town called Pig. [:D]

Smokymtnsanta -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (3/11/2007 9:26:21 PM)

Well, if you are reading this it means I do have a computer that works whille we are in Georgia. Made the trip down this afternoon and looking forward to this 3 days of preschool photos.

We went with a large group (14) from our church to T's BBQ today. Another great time of great food and great fellowship with friends.
Talked with Tony and he said he had read all the posts on this thread a few days ago. He is looking forward to more of you stopping by as the weather warms up and you head to the Smoky Mountain area. Stop by and say "Howdy" and tell Tony Santa sent you. Maybe he will have "Santa's Brunswick Stew" soon or Ms. Nancy's White Chicken Chili. Said today he hoped to have some cooked up soon.
Continue to pray for us while we are away from home. God Bless!
Santa

Getting reeports the business is booming down at the restaurant. Never know who you will see at the restaurant. The raves on the food sound like 5 star quality.

Tony sent out a email this morning giving us the exact location using landmarks.
Can someone rewrite the instructions by landmarks so it would be easy to find.

Smokymtnsanta -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (3/14/2007 7:43:45 PM)

We are back home from our trip to Georgia. Thanks for the prayers.
When looking for T's BBQ and Grill from Interstate 40, exit 407, go Hwy. 66 toward Sevierville. Not too far past the Smoky Mtn. Knife Works, look for Memory Lane Antique store. Tony's is just past there on the right. Right now the big sign says Georgia Pit BBQ but below that in plastic letters is says Tony Gore's Smoky Mtn. BBQ and Grill.
By the way, zmanfan38 mentioned about us meeting there last Sat. for lunch. The place was packed. Tony told us Sunday he kept running out of food Sat. He had cooked enough Ribs to do for the weekend, but they did not last all of Saturday. So he is cooking overtime this week.
Hope you stop by while in our beautiful Smoky Mtn. area. God Bless,
Santa

Many of you are making plans to visit the Great Smoky Mountains this spring and summer. I hope you add Tony's BBQ and Grill in with those plans. You gotta eat somewhere. See post above this one for directions. Maybe I will see you there. God Bless and continue to pray for the Roger Bennet family during this time.
Thanks and God Bless, Santa

zmanfan38 -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (3/17/2007 8:10:50 PM)

Glad you and Mrs. C had a safe trip back home.[:)]

Definately praying for the Bennet family.

Sunday lunch after church at Tony's was AWESOME again.
German Chocolate Cake-----Wonderful
White Chocolate Cheese Cake-----Wow!
And the meal before dessert was great!!!!
Again the restaurant was packed.
Tony said the Crist Family ate there Sat. night. He went to a Methodist church in the area Sunday morning to hear them sing.

rt.harrison -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (3/22/2007 3:03:35 PM)

Tony always sings at Riverfest in St. Albans, WV each July. Last year, he brough a catering trailer in and made barbecues and barbecued chicken and was the most popular vendor there! And he promotes Charleston's New Years Eve Gospel Sing which is the longest running New Years Eve Sing in the nation. He is a very talented guy!

Qtman -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (3/22/2007 3:05:59 PM)

If nothing else you have just endeared yourself for life to Santa.[:D]

Amen and Amen. The truth never hurts anyone. By the way, welcome to the Forums, rt.harrison. Tony is a great singer and a great cook.

This note is from Tony Gore:
Hello Everyone!
I am excited to tell you that I will be singing this week! I am
really looking forward to it!
I will be in Chattanooga at Fan Fair on Friday with Tony Gore and
Majesty….then on Saturday night I will be close to my restaurant in
Dandridge, TN….so if your coming to the mountains be sure and check
out my schedule at www.tonygore.com I will be back at the restaurant
in time for Sunday lunch and this Sunday Special is:
Hickory Smoked Ham Steak
Fire Roasted Sweet Potatoes
Green Beans
Fried Yeast Rolls with Homemade Apple Butter!
Yum! Yum!
By the way…I have said this before but let me say it again….I am
working on getting the sign changed from the former owners….the sign
still says "GEORGIA PIT BBQ" so if you come up in the next few weeks
looking for my restaurant that's the sign you need to look for…..it says
underneath in small letters….NOW TONY GORE'S….etc…but people still
pass it, thinking that it's not me. So….watch for "GEORGIA PIT BBQ".

With spring here and more and more people coming to the Smoky Mountains, I hope you will stop by and try Tony's BBQ and Grill. It has been several days since Mrs. C. and I have had a chance to go but hope to eat there again within the next few days.
Travel safe this spring and summer.

DeeAnnBailey -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (4/6/2007 8:10:02 AM)

We will be in Pigeon Forge 7/4-7/7 do you know if he will have any changes to his schedule for being open during that time? We want to go by to eat one day, would prefer to do so on our way in on 7/4.

Smokymtnsanta -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (4/6/2007 11:18:24 AM)

I will check on that and let you know. Hopefully be there to eat in a day or two.

Smokymtnsanta -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (4/12/2007 6:58:33 PM)

I just talked to Tony at the restaurant and he said he would be open those dates in July that you asked about Dee Ann. He was very busy so did not get into details.

Below is from Tony's newsletter I received today:

If you are coming to the Smoky Mountains don't forget to come by and
eat with me!
Tony Gore's Smoky Mountain BBQ and Grill
1818 Winfield Dunn Parkway (Hwy 66)
Sevierville, TN 37864
865-429-7771
We are located on the four lane coming into Sevierville….just past
the "old" Lee Greenwood Theater just about a half mile down
from "Knifeworks" on the right hand side of the road.
My motto is "Never Trust A Skinny Cook" …..Some friends of mine in
WV…Brad and Mary Beth Querry gave me an apron that had this saying
embroidered on it….everyone gets a real kick out of it…..so I have
added it as the "motto" of the restaurant. We will have souvenir
shirts and aprons available when you come to visit! HA!

DeeAnnBailey -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (4/13/2007 8:03:56 AM)

Thank you for checking! We look forward to being there and tasting the good food!

Smokymtnsanta -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (4/13/2007 6:49:03 PM)

You are welcome. Maybe we will see you there.

DeeAnnBailey -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (4/14/2007 12:25:12 AM)

That would be great! As it gets closer I'll let you know our plans!

Gospelmusicfan -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (4/14/2007 10:10:51 AM)

Have you taken this quiz about some of Tony's finest products?

http://www.pork4kids.com/ScavengerHunt.aspx

Please tell Tony Gore you heard about his restaurant on the Singing News website.

Smokymtnsanta -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (4/14/2007 12:13:04 PM)

Whew! Only got 8 of 15 right the first time. But did finally get them all and am now in the Piglet Hall of Fame. Wonder how many Tony could get right?

I got 3 of 15 right. Can anyone tell that I don't really like pork?

Billboy -> RE: TONY GORE'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN BBQ AND GRILL (4/14/2007 5:13:11 PM)

I got 7 right without going to the info page before the quiz itself. I skipped the ones that you would have to have studied to know, like what state was the hog farm in. Since I am a grain farmer who grew up on a farm with hogs, I guess that is not too bad. And I love pork.[sm=chef.gif][sm=pig.gif][sm=thumbsup.gif]

Good for you! I don't mind that other people love pork; it's just not my cup of tea.
