Hubby would like that carrier, Ryanne! I am actually planning to make him a cammo one, especially since we are having a little boy...it took much persuading to get the baby's room to be something other than cammo!!

They are also now targeting WAHM companies overseas. When they are targeting these WAHM companies overseas, they are looking to collect damages from the distributors that have sold other competing SSCs. So, basically, they want the companies that are selling other SSCs to pay them money for each carrier that they have sold.
Personally, I find this behavior wrong on many levels. Ergo used (and still uses) many WAHM companies to get the name of their product out and now that it is becoming more mainstream and more popular, they are going after every company that makes and/or distributes anything similar so they can try to gain a monopoly. It just disgusts me that they are now trying to destroy the same companies that they used to make money for themselves
Anyhow, I thought I’d let you all know what is going on with Ergo so that way you can continue to decide if this is a company you want to support further. Also, if you are a manufacturer of an SSC or a distributor of SSC’s, you may want to seek legal advice just to be sure that you are protecting yourself.
There ya have it. Not a company I will ever buy from, or recommend.

I've got the peanut shell sling - it's nice, but I don't feel it fits quite right. He seems very squished, but at the same time hangs too low on me. I have a very small frame. Does anyone know what carriers/slings might work best for extra small people??

I'm planning to get (okay have my MIL make) a baby K'tan. Just trying to figure out what size to make it. I'm petite (5'2") but still pretty good size on top.

Get the medium size.
Thanks Kim. I was unsure. The sizing top wise fell as a large, but it said if you are petite to go smaller.

I always say go a size smaller with the K'tan. I made mine in a size small, I'm 5'7 but only about a C cup on top. I made the one for Emily in "extra small" since they are stretchy.

I doubt that....you just need to switch to another type of carry (like hip carry and use the wrap to help hold the weight instead of your own muscles to do it...or back carry.)

I like the baby k'tan, but it is so expensive. I'm afraid to get it in case it doesn't work for me either, but I need to do something b/c he wants to be held constantly... do any of you know the best place to get one for a decent price??

if it doesn't work for you then you can always sell it on ebay and recoup most if not all of your invested money. It is a good one, so people are willing to pay big bucks for it even on ebay.

I was wondering, how much time do you think you spend babywearing each day? Do you do it mainly around the house or when you go out?

When Gabby was little we spent 3-4 hours a day wearing her, mostly around the house. Some days it would be more if I was out shopping. Now it's more like 1-2 hours a couple times a week while we are out doing errands.
Brandy, it depends what we are doing when she feels hot. If I'm out walking then I just leave her, usually she is asleep anyway. If she is awake and fussy about it, then I take her out. If she isn't fussy, then I leave her.

I found that the moby is really hot right now, so I went to walmart and found some pretty, woven, lightweight material, had them cut six yards of it, took it home and cut it lengthwise in half then sewed up the edges of one side of it...and voila, I have a light weight wrap that Justice doesn't sweat in!!!!

Man, girls, I just read this whole thread. There's a lot to read! It's been on my to-do list for awhile, but now it will be easier to keep up.
Because of ya'lls love for Moby wraps, I was telling my mom about them months ago. At my baby shower a couple of weeks ago, she gave me two that she made, from THIS website that was also posted earlier in this thread. One is a cream stretchy-knit material, the other is a brown stretchy knit material, but she also added a front panel of brown and turquoise silk on that one. Which, now that I'm looking into it more, is like the Moby D wrap.
Sarah, I tried following your instructions on how you wrap and I ended up laughing hysterically at myself. It totally did not work out. Then I saw where Tammy clarified the post, and I ended up getting it. Although it's still rather amusing with my belly. I'm sure it will be very different when I actually have a waist to wrap around again!
I think now I just need to go to the Moby website with all the pictures and start practicing.

yeah once you have the baby and can practice with the baby it will get a whole lot easier.
