Horrible movies: Superbad The Good Shepherd (2.5 hours of talking, and not much else) Borat Disappointing movies: Predator 2 X-Men 3 (as a fan of the comic and original cartoon) Spiderman 3 UPDATE I completely forgot about Uwe Boll! I've seen 2 of his movies, and I have to say they were both horrible.

I really think that the subject line of this thread should have been "What is the worst movie you've ever seen?" I'll limit my comments to movies I've actually seen, because, like Billy Graham, I don't think I have any business commenting on a movie I haven't seen. Worst big budget movie: Pearl Harbor. While the scenes showing the Japanese preparations were probably pretty accurate, and the attack and it's aftermath were great, it should have ended there. The rest of the movie was totally BOGUS. The USAAF would never transfer fighter pilots directly to a bomber squadron like the movie showed. Especially not for a mission where they were attempting something that had never been done. I also think that the whole love triangle subplot was just a device to get women to see it, and the movie would've been better without it. Worst sequel I watched all the way through: All Dogs Go to Heaven II. I loved ADGTH so much that I went to see the sequel in the theater, and I can't remember being more disappointed by a movie. The story stank, and the animation was the worst I've ever seen. I usually like animated movies, but not this one. Worst remake: Rollerball. For those of you who've never seen the original, it had a great message about the ultimate triumph of the individual, and the dangers of a society ruled by megacorporations. The only message I got from the remake is that slavery is bad. Everyone already knows this, and there have been a number of much better movies with that message. Worst Bruce Willis movie: Hart's War. I usually like Bruce Willis movies, even when critics and others don't, but not this one. I don't insist on total historical accuracy in a movie, but I can't stand it when a critical element of the plot is something I know is totally bogus(see comments on Pearl Harbor). The way the German POW system was organized had the Wermacht (German Army) in charge of ground forces POWs, the Luftwaffe (German Air Force) in charge of air forces POWs, and the Kriegsmarine (German Navy) in charge of naval POWs. So the Germans would never have sent pilots, (regardless of their race), to a ground forces POW camp, even temporarily. This totally ruined the movie for me. Worst sequel I couldn't watch all the way through: Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. Just too gross. 'Nuff said. I could go on, but this post is getting long enough already, and I tend to be picky about the movies I watch, so I haven't watched many of the movies mentioned in this thread, or else I don't agree with the opinions expressed about movies I've seen.

Spiderman II An Unfinished Life and Curse of the Golden Flower were pretty disappointing, too

A few more mentioned in this thread that I think are good and some even great movies: Glengarry Glen Ross -- great movie American Beauty -- another great movie Saturday Night Fever -- good movie Spinal Tap -- good movie, but it might not be so funny if you're under the age of 40. Gone with the Wind -- hokey but good if it's not taken too seriously. The Right Stuff -- yeah, it's long, but it's a good movie. It might help if there is an intermission. When I saw it at the theater there was one. Parenthood -- great movie; definitely one of Tom Hulce's and also Steve Martin's best performances not to mention Jason Robards and many others who are almost always great. But, my friends, the absolute worst movie is 'Tough Guys Don't Dance.' Screenplay by Norman Mailer and starring Ryan O'Neal. Nuff said. BTW, it's so bad that it's absolutely hilarious.

Battlefield Earth. Or, as hubby and I like to call it, "John Travolta with Bad Teeth". I was just very disappointed. The BEST part of the book (interstellar politics) comes in where the movie stops. After watching that horrible thing, I had to go get the book on tape so my husband could hear it and not hate the book. ;) I was quite amused when the Razzie Award for Worst Screen Couple was given for this movie to "John Travolta and anyone sharing the screen with him" (the movie also got "Worst Movie of the Year" and "Worst Actor (Travolta)").

I saw the worst movie. Superman Returns last night on HBO. It was awful. There were so many errors, and continuity errors. Lois Lane,Clark Kent,Lex Luther,Perry White, and Jimmy Olson didnt age much since Superman The Movie was released in late 1978. lol There was no globe atop the Daily Planet Building in Supermans 1-III. (They used the Daily News Building in New York for the first three). (Helicopter landing pad was on the roof) -Superman The Movie.. Miss Tesmacher flung the kryptonite down the sewer in the original.

Maybe I missed it (I skipped over pages 2-4) but I would be surprised if no one mentioned Newsies (think that's the name), a musical about young boy newspaper carriers going on strike in the early 20th century. Also on the list would hve to be the really unbelievable Sister Act 2. The first Sister Act was good, the second was very poor!

OK, I'm really out of it! I thought page 5 was the last page! Guess this thread has been going for a loooong time, huh? So I missed a lot of pages, but I don't think I'm going to try to read them all.

Epic Movie, the only movie I have actually walked out of. A dreadful loss of time and money. Degrading, offensive and vile. That's the last time I'm letting my son make the choice of movie we go to. Most readers younger than me--I'm 52--won't remember the hype surrounding My Dinner With André from years ago which was supposed to be one of those artsy, "meaningful" movies. Instead, it was the most colossal bore I have ever witnessed.

ORIGINAL: jaimestarcross The megabuck flops would have to be: Ishtar Water World Gigli Crossroads Battlefield Earth(The bloated disaster which ensued battled to recoup one tenth of its reported $73m budget) The Avengers Glitter Catwoman The Chronicles of Riddick Heaven's Gate The Postman( only making back just $17 million of its $80m budget.) Striptease Swept Away Town & Country (having only made back $6.7m (domestically) of its $90m budget.) Very good summary. We walked out of Bad Santa, but I can't imagine the last two-thirds being any better than the third we saw.

Anything with Shaquille O'Neal in the starring role. Most of Jean-Claude's skunky screen moments. And anything on Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Royal Tenanbaums- I was royally bored out of mind. Clerks 2- I really should have known better. Telladaga Nights. Will Ferrell- Again, I really should have known better. Lady in the Water- I liked Signs and Sixth Sense so I was hoping for more from M. Night Shamaylan. But the story was a mess to me.

Man, based on the stuff in here, I have to assume a lot of you don't watch many movies. Some of these are bad certainly, but the worst you've ever seen? Really? I'm not sure what I'd name. The first thing that comes to mind is Ed Wood's "Plan 9 From Outer Space".
