DeeDee, I'm glad you don't need to have a screw put in, and that you don't have to wear a heavy cast. I'm glad you've got some answers as to what's going on with your foot and ankle though, and a way forward in dealing with it.

You're right, Dee Dee, it sounds scary but not getting those shots sounds scarier. There's a woman here in the office who fell down the stairs, broke her ankle and needed FOURTEEN screws put in. Now some of them are coming loose so she has to go back to get them tightened. Now THAT just sends shivers down my spine. You take care of yourself, okay?

Thanks Trish and Maggie and everyone for the encouragement! I typed this in my journal today and thought it was worth sharing I'm posting it here and in my blog in myspace. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalms 61:2 Many things lately have been overwhelming; the whole issue with my ankle, the torn ligaments and nerve damage, keeping up with the house cleaning, keeping the peace between my children, dealing with the death with so many this year especially the death of my son's friend and her sister. What a horrible thing for children to have to deal with. It is great that we have friends and family we can lean on to get us through. We also use TV, books, games, and the computer to distract us from these overwhelming issues of life. Yet all of these things are just temporary fixes. We need to look higher. We need to look to Jesus. He is the only one that can fully sustain us. I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. Psalm 3:4 Often God seems so far away, but here in this verse we are reminded that if we just cry out to him, He'll listen. Wherefore, seeing we also are compressed about with a great cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12:1 There are many witnesses around us, weather it is the angles or our loved ones who inspire us to do well, or the demons and others who influence us to sin, or just the things in life we turn to besides God and his will for our lives. We are called to lay aside sin that "besets us" or sets us back in our course of life. But if we just run the course with our eyes on the Lord and have patience until we reach the end then, we will come out on the other side better for it. What sin do I have to lay down, you might ask. I don't lie, cheat or steal. Hmmm... well, think about it. You don't tell any "white lies" or omit all or some of the facts of how something happened? The Lord isn't cheated out of your time and attention? You're not allowing blessings to be stolen from yourself? Standing by watching something get stolen and not doing anything about is is just as bad as steeling in in the eyes of the law. What higher authority is there besides God? We rob ourselves of the blessings in our life as we idally stand by and not do anything to keep them, as it involves too much work and time that can be otherwise sucked away on the TV, computer, time with friends, or plane business. We all have sin to lay down in our lives to different degrees. They may seem small to you or big to others, or vise versa. However, to God, a sin is a sin and they weigh us down and keep us from receiving blessings and from staying on course. Often times we veer off the path and end up in the wilderness wondering how we even got there, we become so lost and sometimes scared. It is then, we finally come to ourselves and cry out to the LORD and he hears us from his holy hill and leads us to that higher rock and refreshes us so we may have energy to complete the race that is set before us. Keep your focus on the LORD, he is waiting for you at the finish line with a crown of glory!!

The ankle is still there, I am with out crutches PTL!! Yet I am still feeling some stiffness, pain, and have some swelling off and on. Who knows maybe it will be like this forever. Just praying for God's will in this. Entry for the day... Taking time to play in the rain and look to the heavens Just the other day, well maybe last week we had some much needed rain. While keeping an eye on the distant lightning, feeling the power of the rolling thunder and watching the puddles fill, I had the urge to just go play in the rain. Oh how long has it been since I played in the rain, or even played for that matter? With my bare feet I stepped from the dry garage into the rain, first putting a toe into the cool puddle and later both feet while encouraging my reluctant husband to come play. Before I knew it we had the whole family out there splashing and playing in the rain with an occasional flinch and jump at the lightning and thunder that seemed a little too close at times. It was one of those occasions I just wanted to hold on to, it seems I rarely have a time where I just let go of my carefully controlled, all too serious, adult self. Then suddenly just as it started, it was all over the kids retreated back into the house to their video games and hubby back to the garage his TV. I looked to the heavens in awe of the beautiful sky as the sun slowly began to peek out from the clouds. As the golden reys of sun streaked through the clouds and across the sky creating a beautiful picture I gloried in HIS greatness thanking the Lord for the small break in my busy and cluttered life and being reminded that HE is still in control. We should never be with out the thought of the greatness of God. In a sermon two Sundays ago Pastor preached this very thought. He related the sun we see in the sky to the Son who came to save our lives. We cannot have life with out either one The sun should remind us everyday of the greatness of the Son. When we are blinded to the sun by the clouds before it, know he is there behind them, do not give into temptation to sin, (including idleness, depression, and unthankfulness as I all too easily give into). Their line is gone out through all earth, and their words to the end of the world, In them that he set a tabernacle for the sun.Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race His going forth is from the end of heaven and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. (Psalm 19:4-6) Jesus is represented by the bridegroom here- in heaven, there is no need for a sun because of the Son. When you see the sun think of the Son. The sun will come up every day weather it is hid behind clouds or not, it is still there, rejoice in it. The whole earth will need and feel the heat of the Son and the sun just as the Son will always complete his circuit. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption is in Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:23,24) God's creation, Word, and handling of sin all reveal the Glory and Greatness of God! So when we see the sun, like Pastor preached, let us be reminded of the greatness and glory of the Son, and be thankful for the little things even if it is playing in the rain if just for a couple of minutes! Don't forget to look to the heavens, seek out the sun/Son and let your soul be warmed!

DeeDee, you're sounding so GOOD--so happy, at peace, positive! It's a good thing to hear from you. That playing in the rain, including your husband, sounds like such a wonderful thing for all of you.

Finally! I'm back! My computer died and I just got a new one Saturday PTL! However I have to be careful not to stay on for hours at a time, at least not when the man is home. Ya know God is good, not that I need to tell you all that, maybe just share A couple of weeks ago Robert decided he wanted to read the Bible!!! Can you believe that? Well of course, with God all things are possible! We actually spend an hour together reading the Bible. Did I already mention this? Maybe I did, yet it is still something I am still thanking the Lord for and pray it will happen again. I'd love to be able to spend time with him just looking to the Lord together, wow what an experience. I crave it so much especially since these past few days I seem to have this dark cloud of I don't know wht to call it over me lately and I really shouldn't considering all of the great things the Lord is doing in our life, just the fact that I get to wake up everyday is a miricle I should embrace! Ya know often times we get too comfortable in our Salvation, and we forget to marvle in the miricle and the special gift it is and all that we are saved from. Like the visiting Pastor said yesterday, it can be like new shoes when we first buy them, we are so careful not to get them dirty or scuffed up but give them a few months and we are kicking them off with out even untying them and throwing them somewhere in the back of the closet. Besides getting too comfortable in our salvation we also forget to look for to watch for His work. We get to comfortable in living in the environment we are in and looking to all of the things "we" have accomplished. While I was reminded in a devotion this morning how we are called to watch out for sin, and watch in expectation for the signs of His second coming. We also need to watch out for his work around us weather it be in nature, the people he puts in our path, the ability to deal with other who might not be so easily dealt with, or just getting up in the mornings, stiff ankle or not. Oh I have had my breath caught and taken the time to pause with the sight of a beautiful sun rise or cardinal in the alley or a child's laughter, but I wasn't looking for it, it was presented to me and I was sensitive enough to experience it. Yet, think of how much more I could see if I actually looked for it, and how much more peace I could have with those little pauses in life. Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of mysalvation: my God will hear me.Micah 7:7
