Isn't her voice fantastic?!! I haven't met any of them yet, but so far I like Kim best as well. lol

I only have 1 tape... the one with the America song on it. I also have the Gaither videos; Mountain Homecoming, Irish Homecoming, and Whispering Hope. The latter two I got in a box set from Goodwill for a dollar! [:D]

hopperfan -> RE: Hoppers Thread (1/27/2008 5:06:39 PM)

I'm glad you enjoy them if you ever have any questions pm me and let me know!!! I'll be glad to help you!! I have to go get ready for church, so I will see you all later!!

Has anyone seen the Hoppers in concert recently??

I saw them Saturday night (01/26/08) in Lenoir NC. They were fantastic (as usual). I will probably be seeing them at least a half dozen times this year.

Jess77 -> RE: Hoppers Thread (1/28/2008 8:26:35 AM)

That's great! So where can we see pics??? [:D]

hopperfan -> RE: Hoppers Thread (1/28/2008 8:01:48 PM)

Yeah did you take any pictures Seaton??? Was that the concert with the Greenes as well??

Jess77 -> RE: Hoppers Thread (1/28/2008 8:15:20 PM)

The Greenes... sounds like a vegetable. "Be sure and get plenty of Greenes!" [:D]

hopperfan -> RE: Hoppers Thread (1/28/2008 8:22:19 PM)

You know that Kim was a Greene before she married Kim right?

Jess77 -> RE: Hoppers Thread (1/28/2008 8:47:45 PM)

Hehe... I assume you meant Dean. [;)] Yep. Knew it. Anyone got any tapes from the days she sang with her brothers?

Sorry, being of the male species, I don't have the patience to take pictures. [;)] [8D] Yeah, it was the concert with the Greenes. It was awesome!!

I have both cassettes and LPs that date back to the early '80s. I think it was 1985 when I first saw the Greenes in concert. I know "It Sure Sounds Like Angels To Me" was popular at the time.

Thanks for finding those.

Jess77 -> RE: Hoppers Thread (1/30/2008 8:03:04 AM)

The Hoppers' website also has pics from the Florida show up now. They sure look good, don't they? I can't see them until March. [:(]

Jess77 -> RE: Hoppers Thread (1/30/2008 8:28:41 AM)

So, I just listened to The Ride. I think I like Yahweh, Let The Redeemed Say So, and The Ride the best. How about everyone else? What's your favorites?

hopperfan -> RE: Hoppers Thread (1/30/2008 8:40:31 AM)

I love them all, but some of my favorites off of that one are The Dove, God Already Knew, He Erased It, and Let The Redeemed Say So.

Jess77 -> RE: Hoppers Thread (1/30/2008 9:05:12 AM)

I just listened to He Erased It again and I do like that one a lot too. Actually, I tend to love any song where Kim takes off at the end. [:D] Now I need to buy this CD... come on, payday!!!

girl4given76 -> RE: Hoppers Thread (1/30/2008 9:09:57 AM)

They r not really my fav, but they are all right...to much show and to much product pushing....
The stuff is visable when ya walk in and out....Let the people see it later....or b4\

So what you are saying is that someone needs to set up the product table after the concert starts so it cannot be seen before the concert. Usually it is one of the group that sets up the table and it would be awfully hard to do that during the concert. And many people like to buy products from a group before the concert to avoid the crowd afterwards.
And a lot of groups could not survive without products sales.
I think you will find all groups set up product tables prior to concerts or even when doing a church service.

Dinana -> RE: Hoppers Thread (1/30/2008 9:54:40 AM)

I think she means she would like to see less promotion from the stage since people can see the product tables on their way in and on their way out.

Jess77 -> RE: Hoppers Thread (1/30/2008 9:56:36 AM)

I actually appreciate the table being there so I can look at stuff whenever I want. I have even seen some people at some concerts that buy stuff during the concert. Now, I couldn't do that as I would hate to miss anything. Obviously those who do sell during the concert have people that help them with their tables. Now, I am friends of a christian parody band called Apologetix. Don't know if you've heard of them, but I have worked their table for them before a couple of times. I know for a fact that the bulk of their income comes from sales, especially since they have been known to host free concerts as fundraisers for different churches, etc. I think I would only be upset with the product pushing if the group members were actually standing at the door and escorting me to their product table when I came in the room.

So Santa, is it too early to start submitting my christmas list for next year? [:)]

Jess77, it is never too early to send in your list but don't get your hopes up this early to get everything you wish for. Still a long time to be good and I am watching and checking my list.

I like God Already Knew and My Only Option the best.

I can't recall a concert where an artist hasn't pushed their product (i've seen just about every artist that claims to be Southern Gospel). It is one of the necessary evils of the Southern Gosepl music 'bidness'.
