How are you Marsha? Haven't seen any posts from you lately, so I'm hoping that just means you're busy having fun. Well, hopefully some of us can keep your thread moving till you get back. But please hurry back...I miss you!

Hello, my CW family. I can't believe how difficult it's been to post here recently. I can't even say why, other than I share a computer with two boys. I've been busy doing this and that, not that I can recall much about this or that.

Thanks for the discussion about flappers. The realization of how much of my youth was lost because I couldn't accept my disability still overwhelms me, saddens me. I can never regain those years. I was angry about so much. When my dad wouldn't choose mom and me over liquor, I rejected his whole family. I assumed the absolute worst about my poor, clueless grandfather. I loved many of my mother's family, but my dad''s family is who I am most like. I found that out too late.

Well, Tim left yesterday for a ten-day missions trip to a Christian camp in PA. I expect he will gain much from that experience, as well as fulfill his mission requirement hours for his senior year. I won't have him competing for the computer, but Nathan let me know that he's ready to use it. Don was on it all afternoon.

My day aide enjoys walking so we often go the library or to Towne Square. Yesterday we ate at the Asian Buffet. The boys won't go with me anymore. Just as well as that's partly how I gained 40 pounds. Once in a while. Then we stopped at the grocery.
I tested myself with a half gallon of Nuts About Buckeyes ice cream. I lose all self-control around chocolate and peanut better. Hopeless.

Tomorrow is a new day.

{{{{{{{{{Marsha}}}}}}}}}}} . . so good to see you back in here -- I've been missing you!! I lose all control with chocolate . . lots of other things, too, but especially with chocolate

I'm glad your day aide is willing to get out and walk with you.

Tim's mission trip sounds nice! Good that he's able to do that. And I hope Nate doesn't steal all your time at the computer while he's gone

Anyway, it's good to see you posting again . . . sure have missed you

Good to see you, Marsha! I think it's cool that your aide wants to take you for walks. It must be nice to get out of the house! Ice cream and chocolate are two of my biggest weaknesses. It's far too easy to eat too much.

Great to see you again, Marsha.

Chocolate? Oh boy. Do I have a weakness?! Icecream calls my name too. I think chocolate has me on speed dial!

I'm glad you're getting some time out and about from the house. Gives you a change of scenery. Great that your aide is helping you with that.

That's cool about Tim's missions trip. I'm sure he'll learn lots through it. I know when I went on a missions trip, I learned lots.

You're not alone there! Although with me it's more chocolate and not so much peanut butter (except with grape jam on Wonder bread). Whoops the boss is here, gotta go!

I've had a crush on her for years. She's funny, smart, and pretty. What more could a guy ask for? Especially since I cook and do windows.

They used to have TV shows with her stand up routines on it. They haven't had it for so long now. I really miss it.

I have to use self-control with chocolate--my doctor says I can't have any! I had kidney stones a year ago, so now I'm on a low oxylate diet. Chocolate is extremely high in oxylate, so it's strictly off-limits! Very depressing!

Cheescake is okay, though.

Rita Rudner? I'll have to look her up on Google. lol on the quote. I love it.

For some reason I read Gilda Radner. I thought, 'huh, i don't remember global warming being an issue of the 70s'..

Hi Marsha! Sorry that you haven't felt like posting much lately at all. Sometimes we go through seasons where we just do not have much to say or feel like posting at all. (((((((Marsha))))))) Hope you are feeling better!

Mike, hi. You post here so rarely, I almost forget you're around. I do keep up with you a bit on Deb's thread. She and John don't seem to have the problem with people running into them. Those foot rest can do some damage to the shins, if YKWIM. I stopped walking through the dorm cafeteria line for precisely that reason in college. Of course, then I had Mr. Moncho Blind Guy, who wouldn't use a dog or cane bumping mme in the head with his tray.
No, it wasn't a college of impaired, but it was a veryyoung university and a model in accessibility.

Sorry Marsha for not posting here very often, but I do still follow your postings here though. The bumping factor tends to depend just in how much of a rush someone is in, and or if they are on a cell phone too. When I went to San Francisco last Fall, the streets were just as crowded and yet not a single person managed to make body contact with me. So it is very much a contioning and rudeness factor thing instead.
