Should I flirt with Groom52, even though we're both married? (I think he likes me!)

Absolutely!

I think there would be problems if you didn't, Deb.

........ You guys rock!

I just realized.... your handles match.... well mostly.... lol!! I'm a little challenged.

For anybody who might not know why Deb is bride48 and I'm groom52...those numbers are our ages when we wed. So folks shouldn't think marriage is totally out of the question even if they're past 40 or even 50. And as for what kind of marriage you can have if you marry in your 40's or 50's...well...based on our experience...awesome.

You two are just too romantic! My mom remarried when she was in her late forties or early fifties and has been happy a pig in a wallow ever since. That's why I don't get the least bit discouraged that I'm still single.

Yes... I read John's post.... you guys are amazing... and a wonderful inspiration to us 'older' ( did I just say that? ) singles.

It's sooo cool how you can still make John blush... way cool...

How long have you guys been married?? I'm drawing a blank....

I have to say that when I see Deb's name, I always think "bride of Christ" not "bride of John" I don't know why.

Sorry guys. Now I'm blushing.

I flirt with my hubby when I can. We used to flirt in the chat threads, back when he was allowed on them at work. We smootch (is that how that is spelled?) a lot too. I find it is the quickest way to make the kids magically appear.

Around here, it's the quickest way to make the kids sick.

(Of course, the 'kids' are 25 and 27.)

It will be 6 years in August! First marriage for both of us. Most of you know that I was born with Cerebral Palsy and John got Polio when he was six. So we always thought marriage was a remote possibility. But the Lord is so much bigger than our disabilities! So, if we're overly mushy, please understand that it's because our marriage is such a miracle!

But we've hijacked Sharon's thread with our story. Please visit my thread if you want more of us!

Yup you're right Mike.

I really do enjoy reading the give and take with you and John, Deb. Truly.
It does not make me sad. Honest.

Nothin' to be sorry for Mike.

My moments come at the strangest times sometimes. But I truly do not feel sad reading of your happiness. I will say this...I miss not sharing some of these posts with Jeff. He knew all about my friends here.

And John, do you deal with post polio syndrome? One of Jeff's sister had polio as a child and she wasn't gonna let nothin keep her down, but over the past 10 years she has been dealing with the effects of post polio syndrome.

Alan Alda had polio as a child and was treated with the Kenny 'treatment'. He didn't seem to let a lot keep him down either...

I like people like that...

I didn't know that about Alan Alda!
Maryruth...we call her MR, has always walked by a swing of the hip method, had a definite "limp", but she had three kids, all adults now, and participated in a lot of things.

Aga, you would enjoy MR. She loves flowers and in particular roses. For several years, she grew "test" roses for Jung seed co. (I think that was the company) and truly loved it.

She is a devout Christian and I have been trying to get her to come into forums here. Well, actually, I've been trying to get her hubby to get her set up on a computer and have internet. It would open up soooooo much for MR. More and more she is becoming restricted but boy, I was surprised when she drove herself here (about an hour drive) a couple of weeks ago.

He's one of my heros As I hit ok to send my last post I recalled my mother always telling us that Johnny Weissmuller had polio (though I didn't see Wikipedia mention that although they did with Alan Alda) too and went on to win gold medals at the Olympics. I prefer Alan Alda (he only got married the once) ~ was never really into Tarzan.

Awww Mike. That was very sweet. I feel very blessed to have met you too. I always remember that first phone call years ago too when it was a hot muggy summer in Boston and you had no ac.

I would love to meet Deb and John too. Actually there are so many that I would love to meet. Wouldn't it be nice if we could "beam" ourselves places?

I'm up and getting ready to head to work for a little bit. Someone else is going to be there this early so I won't be alone there.
Hope you have a good day.
