Is there anything that will clean up syrup better? My plastic bottle broke and it slowly all spilled to the bottom of the fridge. My experience in the past with cleaning syrup is that it is slow and icky process.

I just use a warm washcloth. The longer it has been there, the warmer the washcloth should be. As it cools, warm it up again. If it's stubborn, try vinegar/water or maybe baking soda as an abrasive. If there's a lot, then it will probably take some time. Take a small bucket of warm water and wring it out often.

Hey, honey. I need help STAT... Isn't there something that goes where the carpet meets the tile that will hold down the raw edge of the carpet? My kitty has found the "strings" and has pulled up the carpet and I need to prevent it from going any farther.

Is the underlying floor wood or cement. If it is wood they make edge pieces that you nail to the floor and squeeze over the edge of the carpet. They are aluminum and you can buy a section and cut it to fit with a pair of tin snips.

If is cement they may make a simular product that you can glue to the floor.

Another alternative is a small rug over the edge where the tile and carpet meet.

Thanks, Gary! The floor is cement, but I'm not sure how you would glue it to the floor since the carpet is already in place (well, before the kitty it was). Maybe I'll be able to figure it out once I see it.

The rug is a good idea too... I can just move it when I need to close the door. But I do need to fix the problem before the carpet unravels and the landlord needs to replace it, so I'll be heading to Lowes or Home Depot. In what section should I look?

Look in the flooring section.

Is the carpet higher than the tile or at the same level?

Same level. But it's not really "tucked in". I've been here over two years... this is the first problem I've had.

See if you can find a flexible edge piece that will cover the connection of the tile and carpet. They may sell it is fixed lengths and you will have to cut it to fit your space.

The only thing I am not sure about is how to fasten it down, but the people at the home store will tell you how to do that.

I think I had the aluminum ones in my old house, but it had wooden floors. I was imagining something similar. I think I'll go to my parents' house and see what they have - I think it's flexible plastic. If it doesn't work, I'll ask my landlady. She's great and since she knows I'm trying to take care of the place, she goes above and beyond to help.

Hey Honey...

The car won't start.... nothing. Doesn't even want to turn over. Battery, alternator? or starter? but if the starter is going out, doesn't that make that clicking sound? or am I getting my wires crossed here?

Dear Twin #1 has been using the car in her auto mechanics class & she said that she has been taking the battery in & out this past week to work on alternator belts -- at least I think that's what she said...????? Since she has been working on it, I'm wondering about a loose connection? There hasn't been any problems w/ it until yesterday...... If she's been working on the car it all week and the car has been running, could a loose connection just show up all of a sudden?

Just wondering if it's something we can fix quick or if we need to take it in... Do we try and jump it or look for ... ah, what am I gonna look for?

Sounds like a dead battery.

Yup it's possible. I would check to see if they may have been pulled lose accidentally and what condition they are in.
The weird blue powder that you may have seen on battery post (or cables) is corrosion and can eat posts and wires up in a short time.
Be sure to clean any and all of it off should you see some.

Most auto parts store (including walmart) will test your battery for you
some may even offer charging at little to no cost.

How old is the battery? If older than 4 years it maybe time to invest in a new one.

Hi Guys!
Why would a computer say that it has encountered a problem with the IP. If I remember correctly, it said that there is another computer on my network with the same one and it will sometimes kick me off the internet and I can't get back on unless I restart my computer. My comp. is a Dell Inspiron it is 6 months old and I have Vista. I'm wondering if my IP conflict is what is keeping me from being able to start threads???

Grrr. it just happened again. A box came up that said Network Error, Diagnose or close. When I diagnose it says: could not come up with a solution to fix the problem(not in those words though)

Does restarting reboot? If so then yes. Is shutting down different than restarting?

Try re-setting the router. There should be a reset button that you push. Hold it in and umplug the router for 1 minute. Plug back in the let got of the button.
