I used to have this problem a LOT. I think I had to call the internet provider to finally get it resolved.

I posted in here, It popped it to the front page, and it did not show the post how weird is that.....

Anyway.....Thanks G&M I think your suggestions took care of it.

Also, does anyone know who to call to have a bee hive removed. I finally figured out where all the huge black bees were coming from and I am very allergic so I need them to remove it. They will actually have to cut off a dead branch to get to it. I have no idea who to call. This would have been the Hubbys job....

I would think a locally owned pest control company would be your best bet. I am not sure if the national chains would be much help on an outdoor hive.

If you can't find a company to do it. Raid makes a bee killing spray that shoots a 30+ foot long stream. It works very well killing the bees, it'll even kill them in mid-flight. The best time to get them is at night when they are all in the hive and less active.

I have seen my husband use those sprays, they can be sprayed on the hive etc. This one is inside of a dead tree branch so I can't see it. They were kinda swarming in the area so I watched them for like a half of an hour to see were the nest was and finally figured it out. I can't mess with them because one sting makes my throat swell up in seconds.
I'll call my pest guys and see if they can do it or suggest someone else. Thanks.

It is inside the branch. I thought it was hanging on a dead branch. In that case you may need a tree service.

I know one up here that would do it but I don't think he'll go all the way down there to take care of one branch.

Dead tree branch? Are the bees really huge (say 3/4 to 1" long). Do they hover a lot, sometimes rush at you if you get too close?

If so then they are likely Carpenter bees. Very docile as far as bees go and rarely sting. I use them for tennis practice. They "ping" off the strings really well.

If the tree branch is close to the ground a local pest control service can do it. Perhaps even if the branch is high. Give one a call.

Yes, they are very big and black and yes, they do sting when provoked. I had to watch my daughter get stung in the face because if I ran out to help and got stung, I would have had a reaction and would not have been able to help her. One of those really awful parenting decisions you never forget.

Thanks for all your help guys! The branch is pretty low, if there was no hive, I could saw it off myself. But since there is....I will call pest control.

John I'm glad you are not allergic...you are way to daring!

We have to be dealing with different types of bees. I've never been able to provoke the carpenter bees to sting. (Not that I was trying to but they've been remarkable patient with me. )

Hey, Honey! I need help!!! I'm working on my assignments tonight and somehow hit either ctrl-something or alt-something, and I lost the bar at the bottom of my screen. I can't see the Start button, the time... nothing. It was also on Auto-Hide, but I know how to un-do that -- I just don't know how to un-do this. (I'm running Vista!! ) I believe last time it corrected itself when I restarted the computer, but that didn't help this time.

Any ideas?

I don't know how to get it back, but when you do, first thing: Take it off Auto-hide and lock it! (I run Vista too, and that's how I have it. I lost the task bar once when I had XP and just about had a nervous breakdown. I don't remember how I got it back.)

Good luck, Michelle!

Thanks, Pam! Don't you just love Vista?? Weird thing is, I have the toolbars locked. I know I've fixed this before, but I have no clue what I did! Good thing it isn't affecting my work... yet! Oh, and I'm using Internet Explorer. I'd switch to Firefox, but it doesn't work with one of my programs.

Yeah, as a matter of fact, I do like Vista. Others are complaining about it, and I'm not sure why. <insert shrug smiley here> We really need one of those!

Well, in the meantime until you get it figured out, you should be able to access your "start" by your "windows" key on the lower left portion of your keyboard (second key from the left), if you don't already know that. And shift+tab I believe scrolls through your open windows. At least it used to. Haven't tried it for years.

Edited: I just tried it, it's Alt+Tab, and yes, it does work in Vista!

What I don't like about Vista is that it's a memory-hog and locks-up a lot.

Thanks! I forget about the start key on the keyboard. I can also just minimize IE or just use FireFox instead.

Mine locks up everytime I delete something, a file, picture etc. There is definately a glitch there somewhere. But, over all I really like Vista.

I have no problems with Vista at all. The only problems I have with the computer is that I have too many photos on it (over 100 GB) and my HD is only 160. I need to get a lot off - I don't have much space left right now.

well, in another life, I did (and still try to do) professional sports photography - I shoot everything when I travel - and everything then goes onto the laptop. I did get a 500GB external to house everything - I've gotten some transferred - just not everything yet. I like to have my pics with me - they're a part of who I am.

I finally fixed it! I simply hit the minimize button (the one in the middle, in the top right hand corner) then maximized the screen again. I knew it was something simple -- must be a bug or something.

Yay! Congratulations, Michelle!

How come all of a sudden I'm getting this weird spelling help box in the reply window? I hate it!

Looks like they're adding a spell-check feature, but they clearly haven't worked the bugs out yet!
