ORIGINAL: splost Hi, First of all, I am not hinting that I think other things should come before God or God should get leftovers by this title!!! I am working close to 60 hours a week (single female) because I have some debt I am trying to pay off. Friday night worship at my normal church was cancelled, so I went to a saturday Messianic church to get my church in for the week. Although it is not my home church, I am wondering if it is wrong for me to stay home from my home church today because I work 11-6 (I don[t work Saturdays and that is the day I devote to the Lord anyways). I thought the Lord wanted me to go to church this morning, but sometimes I wonder if perhaps a "religious spirit" is wanting me to go (I don't think its wrong to go, just wondering if I "Must" go this morning.) What are your thoughts. I know Jesus rested, but how do you dicern when too much is on your plate or if the enemy is using the tired card as an excuse to keep you out of fellowship. Great topic and question. If Saturday is the Sabbath in your heart, then you're fulfilling the commandment. However, if you don't feel "connected" to the Saturday fellowship you're attending now perhaps God is nudging you back to the church family you know and love. Yes, we can feel compelled to go Sunday morning for the wrong reasons, but there surely are a lot of right reasons to go too. Believe me, I understand where you're coming from, but I have to ask--If your earthly boss required just two more hours of devotion from you each week, would you find a way to please him? Besides sleeping, what do you do with the first two and a half hours of every Sunday that might otherwise be spent getting ready for and going to church service?
