Sometimes we just have to take matters into our own hands. Great to see my buddy, the late James Burleson, (from the list above) being honored this year at the GRAND OLE GOSPEL REUNION. I am blessed by that. I hope his wife, Shirley, will get to be there. He is already in their Hall of Fame as a Melody Boys Qt member. Glad that THE PROPHETS will be there to see him recognized. God bless you James! You beat me to Heaven...PJ Hey all you singin' razorbacks...it's pass time to add another singer to this list of hog callin' "sangers"...oh yeh! I have added, Mr Tanner Stahl...of Soul'd Out Qt. Furthermore, let it be made know to all, that Tanner (as of this week) is officially ENGAGED to be married. Congratulations TS!

Not sure we're gonna be in town on the 20th. We've seen a lot of groups at Sunrise Bapt. in Lawrenceville. They really have a nice Church. Last time we were there was the final performance of Crystal River.

Nice gift. I've seen mounted Hawg heads at the Scott Antique Market in Atlanta priced from $600 to $900. BTW there were some pretty cool Razorback fans that sent a spray of flowers for UGA VI's funeral from Tusk just a few weeks ago. All us Dawg fans were very appreciative.

Wow! as you can tell by my avatar, we are serious dog lovers. All of us Jackson's noted and discussed UGA VI's passing. He was special. Still love when he bit the dude from Auburn! How cool was that! I assume now that your avatar is him?

OK...We are back on the the main subject of this thread: Pro gospel singers with an AR connection. Does anybody remember who else sang with Paul Boden, in the Wonder State Qt ? How about Smilin' Joe Roper? I know he had something to do with the history of the Melody Boys of Little Rock (Gerald Williams). Was he ever in the group?

ORIGINAL: Kerrlaw1 Some friends of ours came by after returning from Alabama, where they had dropped their third son with his two brothers, all of whom go to the U. of AL. (I think they all get to go free, which is the only reason I can think of for going to school there ) Anyway, they had this large, mounted razorback head in the back of their SUV. Seems the boys had it in their apartment, but were re-modeling. Do you have a stuffed and/or mounted razorback? YES I DO!!! Shot by a friend of mine down in TX years ago. He gave it to me while I was preaching a Crusade in his town (Conroe) after his wife was saved at one of the services. He's an Aggie, but we have been good friends ever since. They just celebrated their 25th. The HOG is still on the wall right here in my den, where I am watching my beloved Yankees having trouble with the sox. My Rotty loves to growl at it! I thought the razorback was extinct.

L5MAN...Great to hear from you again. Son, you need to talk to some of your budds out there where you live. Wild Hog is big game in Central and west TX. ..south TX too. The Javelina they have down there don't grow to be quite as big as the Swamp and Bush Hogs we have in AR. The big boar is also raised in captivity on a limited basis. TUSK, the UA Mascot calls a farm in Dardanelle (Yell Co), his home. In case anybody is wondering...that is the same Dardanelle of Yell County, mentioned by Kim Darby in TRUE GRIT. I thought it was ironic that Glenn Campbell (a true arkie) played a "too big for his britches" texan in that movie. But of course, the stars of that show were, "The Duke", and "Little Blackie" Anyway...we are glad your back among us!
