I need everyone to pray for my family. My grandfather passed away on 11/29/07, but we held off on the funeral (he was creamated) until after the holidays. The funeral is this Sunday. My uncle (who has just finished seminary) will be officiating. It's going to be an emotional time for all of us because we loved Grandpa dearly. He was almost 98.

This may be selfish, but I need prayer for me. I have many internal struggles that I have prayed for in the past, but I've never taken any action in fixing myself. This time I'm serious about fixing my problems, before I lose my husband (he would never physically leave, but it would still kill me to lose him emotionally). I really need God's strength and wisdom to get me through this.

Ok - he is on his way home now. They couldn't find anything wrong with him - Praise God! Though they still need to find the source of these headaches. He has a follow up tomorrow with his doctor, and doctors orders to not go in to work for the next 48 hours.

I was in NYC yesterday, taking a day for myself. I was walking by a catholic church (saint someone or other) and stopped to warm up and pray. As I was sitting in the cathedral, I heard a quiet but very clear woman's voice say "... I'm warning you, I am going to kill you. I am going to shoot you in the eye". My blood curdled because this voice was so menacing and I couldn't tell it's source. I went through a depression lately and I was afraid this voice was somehow my own! Then it said "I am going to shoot you in the eye and you won't be able to ever see Kim and Jason again" I was relieved because I know no Kim or Jason! The voice went on about shooting someone in the eye and killing her.
I turned and saw a few rows behind, a mean looking lady on a cell phone! I managed a weak smile but her look in return was cold. I turned back around and prayed for that unknown situation which sounded so dire. Will you pray, too? I have no idea who she was but the whole thing shook me up and I know God sat me in there at that time for a reason. It really sounded like this lady was going to go shoot someone in the eye!

Please pray for my husband that he will find the motivation, the will power, the strength to overcome his weaknesses and get busy in putting his priorities in check. "First one get back intouch with his FATHER, then look for some source of way to provide for his family with having faith thru his father, that something will come his way."
Pray that he will get off the couch, the computer, and whatever else takes his attention away and allow the strength within him be put to great use for what he knows needs to be done for his family. Pray that he will see his many talents are great as I see and everyone else sees in him, that he can do whatever he wants when he sets his mind to it and just do it.
We are in such a financially struggle at this time, I am the only sole provider at the moment which doesn't cover all of our obligations at this time, but I do not want to be selfish at the same time and wear him down. That will pull his self esteem down anymore then what it is now. He is a good man, has good intentions, big dreams, but his ADD, overpowers hims as long as he lets it. He lost his last job on Oct. 4th and to this day can not figure out why, which has crushed him. It has been hard on me to be a supportive wife, but really been trying since I started the 30-day husband encouragement challenge for wives.

A little update:
The doctor he saw at the follow up saw a 'little bump' on the x-ray, and he isn't really concerned about it, but he said he'd feel better if Paul has an MRI, so that is scheduled for early February.
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the dedication and determination of the doctors to rule out all possibilities!!
We're praying that this MRI will just rule out something... and that they won't be finding anything!!

My great aunt has been dealing with cancer for a while now. It has now spread to her lungs. The doctors don't see a point in her staying in the hospital so they are setting up a bed for her and an oxygen tank in her home. She can't eat so that is not a good thing either. She is in her late 80s and her husband is 25 years younger than she is so he is really young to think about being alone...

MIL is in hospital, in extreme pain, doctors don't know what is going on.
We are leaving either tonight or early tomorrow.

This is one of those little, random things, but I can not find my debt card. I had it before I left on vacation, and I do not think I took it with me. However, I can not find it in my normal places. Pray that I will think of the illogical place that I put it soon as it is my own way of getting cash. thanks!

Please pray for a woman in our church who has expressed suicidal wishes. Pray that God will help her think more clearly, lead her into a healthier frame of mind and help her get the professional help she needs. Please also pray for those in our church who are trying to walk with her through this. Thanks!

I am just popping in to let you all know we are back for the night and will be heading out again tomorrow.
MIL is not doing well at all, the doctors finally got a diagnosis of cancer from a liver biopsy (won't know what type till Wednesday (sigh), she has fluid in her lungs as well(drained 1100cc off her right lung Friday), she is on oxygen and even with that, her oxygen level went down to the 70s today. She is on morphine to control the pain she is having.
We came home so Rick could get some finances in order (need prayer over that as well).
We are trying to talk MIL into going to MD Anderson in Houston but she won't even consider leaving her town (she thinks Dad won't be able to make the trip due to his health).
Also need prayer for my Dad as he is in serious pain with his back (spinal stenosis) and needed me to go with him to an appointment he has but I can't go because I need to be with Rick and his Mom and Dad.
I am just torn in two right now and feel guilty because I didn't go with my dad, but know in my heart I need to be with Rick.
Just need a lot of prayer covering and I know I am just rambling but I hope you all understand what I am saying.

Please pray that my husband will have the motivation and the drive to put his priorities into order that he will look for a job, or the few applications he did put in someone will call him in for an interview soon.
Also, if God has a purpose in his life for him to start his own business that is going to be his source of income to support his family, then let it be, but for God to give him the motivation and the power to make it happen and stop letting him just think it will come to him by sitting around the house thinking about it.
My patiences and his family are suffering from the worries of wondering if we are going to have a roof over our heads and food in our bellies week to week.

We are still here at home, trying to get some things in order <sigh>, but will be heading back out as soon as we can.
Just got off phone with MIL, I could barely understand her as she is having a real hard time breathing and talking. Her lung is full of fluid again, tomorrow the doctor is inserting a chest tube to help keep it drained.
Her potassium level keeps going down to a dangerous level as well as her oxygen level.
She has placed her life in Gods hands and has told us she will not take chemotherapy just to prolong her pain.
Rick is very angry right now at the doctors and the situation. It has taken nearly 2 months to get the diagnosis and now there are these other complications.
I appreciate every prayer going up for her and for us and know that God is in control of this situation.
Thank you all so much for supporting our family in prayer.

Praise the Lord!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found my debt card. It was in the drawer where I thought I placed it, but it was inside a book so even though I moved everything, I couldn't see it.

Part of the problem has been insurance companies seem to be taking an increasingly loooong amount of time to pay us 
and there just hasn't been a lot of work! Dh got a call today from a lady who has extensive mold damage in her newly constructed home (long story). If this job goes through it will be the biggest and most profitable mold job in our companies two year history and will help us get caught up rather quickly. Please pray for the homeowner who is extremly sick due to her allergies to mold, a prompt payment (within 30 days)from the insurance company or homebuilder and a timely end to this increasingly complicated process (the home's roof was poorly constructed and water came in through the roof leading to the mold damage), so the insurance company will be subrogating (suing) the homebuilder if they pay for the damages.
