Lol! I'm sort of hoping they all work pretty well and I don't have to buy much more. How many do I need total? 12?18?

I think when we have a newborn I'll buy some Kissaluvs or prefolds, the OS will be kinda wide in the crotch.

I started with 18 and that was enough for 3 kids in dipes, but I had to wash them every day.
Now, I have about 15 pockets, with a dozen or so prefolds and 4 covers. That lasts me a few days. I only have to wash diapers every other day or so. Much better.
For just Gabby, I'd say 12 ought to be fine. Then when you have another, getting some newborn size will help and that'll be enough

I'm just starting with cloth diapering though I've secretly always wanted to but was overwhelmed with all the options. I just bought the cheapie chinesee prefolds and have been using those alone with diaper pins. :o quite the leaky experience!

I just ordered 3 covers and snappis to make the diapering experience a little easier. I can't wait for them to get here! I want a few fitted diapers for night-time but that will have to wait until next month (budget woes). I'm starting with a Bummis Super Whisper Wrap, a Thirsties Diaper Cover, and an Imse Vimse Organic Cotton Diaper Cover. I don't have questions yet but am super excited!
