On Tuesday, September 11th, 2007, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States.
Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this anniversary of our country's worst tragedy. We do this in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds.

Action Plan: So, here's what we need you to do...

(1) Send this to everyone you know. Take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11 and let those sentiments guide you.

(2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11.
Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day.

Thank you for your participation.
God Bless You and God Bless America

AMEN SANTA!!!!

We have had Old Glory flying from our front porch everyday
since Sept 11, 2001. Previously we only flew it on special days.
Everyday is special to us NOW!

Thank you for starting this thread!

Like Paul I raised the Flag in 2001 and it has not been down except to replace it twice.

So many things this morning have reminded me of where I was in 2001. A sad day yet one we need to remember. I like the country song 'Have You Forgotten', I believe far too many Americans have moved back into their comfort zone and don't believe it can happen again.

How come if I don't 'believe' that man-made global warming is going to destroy the environment in 50 years, I am considered 'in denial'...but if I believe, after September 11, that terrorist will kill American lives if given the opportunity, I am considered 'paranoid'?

Heading out here shortly for a Nine Eleven Memorial Service

Since one of my sons is professional firefighter, it's more dear to me than some.
It's a shame, actually a disgrace, so many returned so quickly to their "comfort zone" and put our Lord back in the box until they feel they need Him again.

Flying the Flag has been a priority around our house since about 1980

I've been in training tonight at my fire station and about 1/4 of the guys there tonight wasn't in the department on 9/11. But after all the tribute videos we watched tonight I'm sure they know how the rest of us felt that horrible day. I will never forget the 343 brothers I lost that day.

It is not feasible for me to fly the flag at my house, but I do honor those who gave their lives on 9-11. I do always wear a flag lapel pin when I wear a suit and I go a step further and wear two flags; the American flag, and the Christian flag. I wrote a poem several years ago about the two flags, and if I get the opportunity on patriotic holidays, I read the poem.

PEP1941...if you will send me that poem, we'll see if we can make a song out of it. Patriotism is expressed powerfully in musical poetry!

9/11, 2008 is just 2 days away. So instead of starting a new thread I thought I would revive this one. Just got thru reading all the posts made. I hope you will fly your flag on Thursday. God Bless America!
And hopefully there will be some Patriotic songs sung at NQC on Thursday.

Y'all please remember the first 15 posts in this thread were made last year. Post 16 and forward are new posts.

I just saw another thread and made a post and realized it was last year so I deleted my post real quick.
