In the Hot Topic segment of ABC's The View on Monday (Sept. 22), token conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck explained that the ad is NOT a lie and Barack Obama did in fact support legislation establishing sex education for kindergartners. There is an adage that says being a parent is like being pecked to death by a duck. Perhaps the same can be said of Hasselbeck with regard to her fellow View hosts, all liberals who think they are smart. As if on cue, the left-leaning ladies picked apart the points Hasselbeck made in order to continue to defend their favorite candidate, Barack Obama. (CNSNews.com) - The $700 billion bailout bill passed by Congress today includes provisions that authorize the Treasury Department and other federal agencies to buy deadbeat mortgages and lower their interest rates and principal at taxpayers' expense.

Section 109 of the bill is entitled “Foreclosure Mitigation Efforts.” It orders the secretary of the Treasury to “implement a plan that seeks to maximize assistance for homeowner.” It lists as means the secretary can use for doing this: “term extensions, rate reductions, principal write downs, increases in the proportion of loans within a trust or other structure allowed to be modified, or removal of other limitation on modifications.”

Section 110 of the bill is entitled “Assistance to Homeowners.” It orders other federal agencies to ease the terms of mortgages the federal government purchases if the borrower is at risk of foreclosure.

A "dangerous side effect" of America's failure to control the Southwest border and the nation's tolerance for high levels of illegal immigration has resulted in the spread of violent transnational gangs across the United States, including Maryland, Virginia and Washington, a report says.

A report written for the Washington-based Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) says the gangs represent a "significant menace to the public," with about 80 percent of the members involved in serious crimes in addition to immigration violations and another 40 percent having committed violent crimes.

"The recent emergence and spread of several Hispanic street gangs, most notably MS-13 and 18th Street, has attracted the attention of law enforcement agencies and political leaders nationwide," said Jessica M. Vaughan, an author of the report, which was made public Tuesday. "Many gangs are made up of small-time troublemakers, but others have a reputation for grisly violence.
