Maybe the new guy on the show caused this murder (attempt) to be brought on Garcia because of the old crime records he had her look up a few weeks ago.

That doesn't quite seem in character...I mean, he's a little weird and definitely hiding something, but I don't know if that's it. I guess we'll have to stay tuned.

I do know that Moore's character is getting to be pretty moody and confrontational...although I don't think he realizes it, which is why he was totally befuddled with Garcia's response to him.

I didn't mean new-old guy put a hit out on Garcia. I meant that because she was searching old records, some criminal was tipped off that she was investigating them, and the criminal hired someone to shoot her.

I'm still hoping she isn't dead. Crime shows need their nerds

Not a spoiler, b/c I have no inside knowledge, but no way she's dead.

I don't think she's dead either. The previews were saying things like "Some days are for death...but not this one" as they were operating on her.

No, Garcia didn't die but the NY office chief did.

Can't believe no one started a thread on CM after that intense season closer last spring.

I am thinking this will be another ongoing theme all season. There are still a lot of those suicide killers left. And how did they get the inside info from the Secret Service on who was being treated at that hospital? The FBI did not even know.....

I think this was the thread that was started when Garcia was shot. There was a thread at the end of last season when the SUV exploded. I don't know where that fell to. I enjoyed the premier last night - I always enjoy this show (mostly because of Shemar Moore and Thomas Gibson). But I wasn't wow'ed. It was a relief but anticlimactic at the same time that the only person really hurt was the British lady. The only halfway interesting or intense part was when Derrick took the ambulance and, if it weren't for the interaction between Penelope and him, it might've just been silly. What did he tell her? She's his serendipity or something silly? That was goofy. But those two are still so sweet together, just like when she was shot.

I don't really understand what Hochner was so ticked about. So what if Derrick trusted the others like he should - what should he have done differently when he found that bomb? Go get Hoch and let the thing come online and blow up the hospital?

I also agree it was lame that the FBI never even knew who was being operated on - but somehow the terrorists did and planned this super elaborate random murder ruse to get to him? Silly.

But I do love this show.

I think that whoever it was is only their first real target. There will be more.

I missed this show...and I missed the last 5 minutes of last night's episode.

I got as far as Morgan chsing the guy after he set it to go boom, and Garcia trying to intercept cell phone towers, etc. but that's it.

I still miss Gideon, but am happy that the show continues without him.

Anyone see the ep last night? Hotch should have stayed behind and directed by computer link or phone.

It was kinda creepy - those serial killer goupies.

I will NEVER understand how someone can be attracted to someone who KILLS people! I watched the episode and agree, he should have stayed behind but we knew he would not when the doctor gave him the note, didn't we?

First couple of seasons of CSI Vegas, the guy had hearing issues...ultimately got them resolved.

Hopefully this Hotch ear thing is just good writing as a consequence from the bomb blast. I hope he's not on his way out.

My one problem is with how the guy, who built the bomb, shoots all the secret service agents in the elevator. They know that he might be down there, so surely they have their guns out before the door opens. There were three or four of them. At the very least one would get a shot off. They are highly trained, that would never happen.

Yeah - that did seem a bit of a stretch.
