My poor sister had her baby last week and they used Pit and once she was having double and triple peak contractions, she had to get some relief, so she opted to go for an epi (which she did not originally want). They messed up inserting it and punctured her (not sure of technical term) and she leaked fluid. They offered to do a blood patch which she refused since the already messed up once. After she was home, she went back in and had the blood patch and it helped, but she is still in a LOT of pain. she is okay if she is laying down but when she stands up the pain returns- anyone have any ideas? I feel so bad for her!
Yes! I've only had one epidural, and that exact same thing happened to me. I had heard headache being mentioned as a risk, but I had no idea what kind of a headache they were talking about it. I had to lay flat on my back for a week. It was a horrible experience. I'm used to being up and about the next day, not stuck in bed all week. Ugh. I didn't find relief until it went away on it's own.
