I'm really excited to get it. It feels like a feather compared to my mountain bike. It also should actually have gears that shift when you want them to shift (nothing more frustrating than having the gears not want to change until you get to the top of the hill you were struggling up) and brakes that don't sound like a cat dying when you use them...

Yeah , good idea.

I have the GT 2120 model shoes which are discontinued. So next time I will try the 2130s.

I really like them! Normally I get Nike's but these really fit the best and should work better for my low arches and pronation.

I've been running in the 2130 since February. I have the white and blue version. These are shoes that made me not able to wear my Brooks Adrenalines--and I loved those Brooks!!! The 2130s are just so awesome. They got an Editor's Choice from Runners World. You can read all about them on their website. I've got my eye on the 2130 trail shoe.

Nice bike, too. I'm sooooooo tempted to get a road bike, but I'm not going to. Nope, not going to. Not going to. Right now I have three bikes in my living room. (We have no outside storage.) One is my husband's new cruiser. One is my Giant Cypress commuter, currently chainless because I took it off this evening to clean it and it was a nasty mess and took me two hours and I'm just not in the right frame of mind to put it back on. And my old beater MTB that is my new "project." I'm determined to learn all about bike mechanics so that I can fix my own bikes and my buddies over at bikeforums.net are helping me. I have to buy some tools before I can do anything. I've cleaned it up and replaced the chain and adjusted the brakes, but that's all so far.

My bikes in my living room too, since its going to rain and I need to go grocery shopping thats where its been.

My car is a hatchback but its a pain getting the bike in and out so I might get a trunk bike rack. For some reason I thought it would be easy. I am not tall enough to put the bike on the roof

I have my uncle's old trunk rack, but I've never tried to put it on... I need to play around with it so I can actually take my bike places instead of just being limited to what I can ride to.

Yep! Actually my aunt & uncle want me to go with them to a local preserve. They said it's a great place to bike, but it's far enough away that while I could get there on the bike, I'd be too tired to really ride around there then have to bike back to my house...

I should probably also try new places to run as well. The same routes everyday get boring!

I started on the trails too, its nice except for the bugs. Some you can run and bike in and some you can't, because people are supposed to be out enjoying nature or something like that.

(bird watching isn't for me, I'd get bored)

I love watching birds - I just wouldn't love waiting around for them... Around my neighborhood, every morning during my run, I run around with all the quail, killdeer and mourning doves... OK, they run off, but it's fun to watch them!

We're overrun with wildlife around here--for no good reason. There are doves everywhere this year, which is a new one. A family of pigeons has taken up residence behind our house. We are not happy with all their squawking or whatever that is early in the morning. They're fat, too! There are blue birds and black birds and yellow birds and common sparrows and the occasional cardinal.

Two summers ago there was a possum living on my roof. I don't know where it went, but it's not there now. There are probably ten squirrels in my neighborhood for every person. Some of them are mean and will throw things at you. Some apparently have a death wish. I've nearly run over several in the past couple of weeks--ON MY BIKE!!! They wait, then run right in front of me. It scares the you-know-what out of me every time.

Sorry, this has nothing to do with running. I'm new here, and I have no idea how to post anything! I can't figure it out...can you tell me how?

I came here from WritingForums.com, because there were a bunch of jerks who rejected my idea of a Christian forum. So, my fellow believers, how are things?

Just click on all forums, and post in the ones that interest you. Welcome.

Stella, be glad you don't have geese. They are more annoying, they will chase you if they want. Plus they don't stop that honking noise. They nest anywhere (parking lots, rooftops, etc) and hiss if you are near their babies. And some brilliant people still feed them

But I have never had a squirrel throw anything at me.

Wow--geese do sound annoying!

I hate birds anyway. There's a house near my work with a bird cage on the front porch. The owner puts her parrot in there every once in awhile and the parrot whistles at me when I run or bike by. The first few times I thought it was a person. But there have also been a couple of times that the parrot is sitting on top of the cage instead of in it. I get visions of the bird chasing me and flapping its wings all over me. I'd probably have a heart attack on the spot.

Took my first run in my new shoes and I love them! Even being brand new, they were super comfortable and by the end of the run, my feet still felt great. Usually, I have to "break in" new shoes a little before they are that comfy!

I don't like birds either, the parakeets cockatoos have always bitten me. So I gave up.

Yeay for the shoes, the asics are good like that.

Wow I have good timing, I just got back from the gym cause it was supposed to storm and now it is.

It's actually sunny right now. It feels like the first time this week... I was pretty toasty for my run.

Yikes! Stay safe! Some of my recurrent nightmares involve tornadoes. I have no idea why because we rarely, and I mean rarely, get them around here....

I am really really scared of storms and tornadoes but I am not as bad as I used to be.

I turned on the news and they had interviewed somone - the storm was "about 3 minutes". I think its almost over now.

I used to hate thunder and lightening. I'm still not a big fan of it, but I don't cry anymore... It's fun to watch the lightening...

From a distance...

I opted to bike today instead of run, since it was so hot.

I don't mind storms. Typically we have a couple dozen "good" ones, but this year they're all being pushed east. We've only been in one tornado warning. I used to have to storm chase for my job and I hated it. Some people love it, but I'm not one of them. I've seen enough tornadoes for a dozen people--I don't need to go chasing them, too.
