LOL...true

We were just talking the other day about the fact that other then Jake, our kids really haven't "fit" their names when they were born...they kind of had to grow on them. By the time they were all a month old though they all fit. Emma especially...she is NOT a frilly girl at all, and her name is very feminine. She is one that looked uncomfortable in a dress...while Hannah would look girly in boys clothes...lol. Opposites...lol. Their names fit them now though.

I still like the name we had from last time...Josiah....so maybe we will use that this time around if it's a boy.

So I am going to add a poll (only I can't...HELP!!!!!).....what do you all think we will have...boy or girl.

I added the poll for you, Sarah.

Noah and Levi don't seem like "baby" names to me either. In fact, Noah took quite a long time to grow on me because I pictured an old man with a long white beard surrounded by animals.

Names are a huge thing. They stay with a person their whole lives and I want my kids to know their names have great meaning (if not in actual meaning, at least to Brian and I).

yeah I know what you mean. I don't want to just pick something just because....I like things with real meaning...not just in their actual meanings, but in our lives as well.

Boy
Girl
Both :)

LOL....thanks Donna. I doubt twins though...they do NOT run in our families at all!!!!! (Although to me that wouldn't be too bad...one pregnancy, one labor, and two babies!!!!)

I picked both, just to be ornery. But I really think there is only one and it's a girl.

lol...thanks...what a friend you are!!!!
in some ways I think it's a girl too...hubby says my emotions are wacky...which is usually a girl with me. But then again, I am usually sick with girls too, and I haven't really been sick at all this time...just once I got sick when I ate spaghetti sauce with garlic in it...other then that, not much. So that's typically boys for me. So who knows!!!!

How nice of your mum to let you use her credit card for the kids' presents.

I have a friend who named her son, Josiah. I like it.

if I had my top picks for names they would be...
Josiah Emery
Audra Lynn
but we shall see....I had those picked before I even got pregnant, and yet hubby still wants to talk about more and more names. Josiah was from last time...we picked between Jackson and Josiah when we were at the hospital...but I already loved both names. Audra has been my pick from baby #1 if he were a girl, but we never used it with the other two that were girls (for different reasons it just didn't fit them)

And so we have a Xanthea and not an Imogen. Sometimes it's a beautiful name, just not for that child.

I still love Imogen though.

I like Michaela and Caleb, but I'm not married and I can't have kids, so I won't be using them.

I always wondered what name X could stand for. That's pretty

Kylie - I love the name Imogen as well! But I know dh won't let me use that one so I haven't even bothered.

Sarah, I think the name Audra Lynn is so pretty.

My stepfather and I were talking the other day about how children should be allowed to change their names if they want. Some people are picking some crazy names for their children that just don't fit their kids. There was a football player who did that. His mom gave him a name no one could pronounce, and everyone at school made fun of him so one day he came home and told his mom he was changing his name to Bob.

Awww...baby names. I want to pick baby names.

Our boy name is Isaiah Christopher, though Dh found another name (that I've been sworn to secrecy on because it's not common at all) and I think he wants to use it first. We would still use the same middle name.

For girls, I picked Kianna once and Dh loves it, but it is so similar to two of our nieces names plus, I already call Akeelah "Keke" so I think it may be too confusing (I guess like Jake, Jack and Zack!) Plus I'm starting to see a lot of kids with those names.

I want to name my next daughter Zahra (which means flower in Swahili).

Among my mom's 7 grandchildren she has:
Zoe
Zach
Jacob
Josh and
Kailyn
and an
Allison and
Megan

However, those last 2 are more ordinary and don't get mixed up with anyone else: they aer almost 9 yrs apart in age and the names aren't similar

I just thought of a way Gideon will be a perfect name if we have a boy. Since this is probably our last baby, he would be the smallest in his clan like the Biblical Gideon, and he'd for sure need to be a Mighty Warrior to survive with three big brothers.

I do "secretly" hope that we have a girl this time though. I'd really really really like Hannah to have a sister.

We'll take what we get and be overwhelmed with joy though.

Well, since you "stole" Rebekah... All's fair in love, war, and baby names.

Seriously, does it bother you, Lisa? I know you told me that before, but after we had decided Levi would be Gideon Joseph if he was a boy.

Brian and I both thought it was pretty neat when we realized that Levi was Jacob's third son. We didn't notice that until he was a month or so old.

It isn't like we are related. I would name my kids with the names we picked anyway. We had the first 6 names picked out before we were married. The next three came shortly afterwards. My MIL wrote down all of the names and began praying for her grandchildren by name right after we were married.

ETA: I just threw that out there about Micah Gideon mostly to show that I REALLY like those names.

Lexie, it sounds like we have similar tastes in girl names, a leaning toward the pretty but unusual. For me that stems from being one of about 20 Kylies in my school. I swore my daughter would never go through that but I didn't want her name to be so unusual that no-one had ever heard of it either.

BTW, I love Zahra.

Yeah, I deliberately didn't copyright that name so you could use it.

Put some heat on your jaw. It used to make me feel better. Also, I might try some arnica to help with any swelling that might occur.

I also really love Josiah. I wish I had more children... there are so many great names...
