Our cat is pregnant (again) and due any time...so we were certain we weren't going to be able to go to my moms for Christmas...but we talked to her last night and she said that from all the times she has been around cats it should be fine. When she has them we are going to put her in something that we can then take to my moms too (small baby play pen) so now we are reassured that it will be fine. We just don't have anyone to watch them or check on them when we are gone...so we can't leave them here. Hopefully after she weans this time we can get her fixed before she gets pregnant again...we couldn't afford it last time (and didn't have time to save the money for it because she showed up on our door step pregnant and skinny...so it's not like we planned on getting a cat at that time). We kept two of the kittens from her other litter...so we will be traveling with three cats (at least) going there and who knows how many coming back!!!!

Oh and according to the LES Paul should get his back pay in this coming pay (Friday)!!!! Now we just have to make sure the pay isn't still coming out again next month!!!

Status: offline 		Sarah, I'm with your Mum about the cat. We travelled with McGuiness and two three day old kittens when the kids and I drove 17hrs to move to Brisbane after a stay at Mum and Dads while dh got settled and found us a house.

Long story - the cat and kittens then went into boarding while dh and I looked for a house together and they were all fine. Cats are very adaptable.

ok good.
last time she was in labor for three days with five kittens. So I was a bit worried about that. But my mom says that was probably just because of her body being so run down from malnutrition before she found our door step that her body couldn't handle giving birth to all five at one time. All five lived though, so that's a good thing. I grew up around cats, but not too many kittens that I remember...at least none when I was old enough to really remember much. My mom says though that when I was little our cats were all the time having kittens. The cats that we got when I was a teenager though were fixed...so no kittens. I had that cat for 13 years...she was my baby!!!!

The two that we kept from her last litter are growing up so fast!!! Jackson loves to play with them...it's so funny too because he plays differently with each of them. The boy (named "David"...he was the runt so hubby liked that name for him cause he was always small) he likes to play with by head butting each other. It is hilarious to watch!!! Also Jack will get some beads (from the girls dress up stuff) and will hold it behind his back and run through the house making David chase him!!! He has so much fun with him!!! Then the other one (named "Peachy Queen"...cause she is peach colored and acts like a queen) he likes to cuddle with and pet. The mama cat (named "Belle"...the girls won out on the name voting...I wanted Lucy) has been very picky lately...hissing at every move either of the other two cats make...I am hoping it's just cause she is pregnant and that it will stop when she is feeling better. I feel terrible when I am that pregnant too.....so in a way I understand.....lol. However, even though she doesn't like other around her, and esp the other cats, Jack she is very very patient with. He will go and pet her and put his head right up to her and cuddle and she just loves it!!!! She has never lashed out at one of the kids!!!! She really is a great cat!!!

Status: offline 		I love watching children with pets! Our little doggie was our 1st baby and he has been so good to all the kids as they have learned how to "be nice and gentle" to their doggy. Hard to believe he is now the oldest member of the family if you count his age in people years!

Hope you are able to catch up on your sleep, Sarah, and your laundry! lol Take it easy on yourself, and silence any negative, accusatory self-talk, okay? You are a fabulously organized, creative, loving, fun, smart, beautiful Mommy and Wife.

Try eating some cookie dough and frosting. It works for my kids, and Ben!

Status: offline 		Sarah, just watch the other cats around her kittens, especially the tomcat. Mother cats are very protective around other adult cats because they tend to do really nasty things to the kittens.

Do you know someone with a large fold-down dog crate you could borrow and cover with a blanket to give her a safe spot where the others can't reach her?

yeah her other littler of kittens she was very protective of too. We will put them in our room and the other kittens are not allowed to go in there. We close our door during the day and at night...so she will be ok in there away from them. Last time she didn't really want to be right there with the kittens all the time....mostly only when they were nursing...then she would move away to other parts of the house. So we are expecting this time to be very similar. She isn't really a cuddling type of cat.

nope sure don't. We have a small car carrier for the two smaller cats, we are just going to go buy a larger one that would be big enough for her and the kittens for traveling in the van. Then at my moms house and here we will put her and the kittens in a small travel size play pen that we have...lined with some pet pads that we can change out so that the play pen isn't hard to clean.

I thought I only had a few more loads of laundry to totally catch up on...not soo...I have been going through the kids drawers and found a whole bunch more, plus I forgot the one load in my room. Our light won't work in there (hubby did something to it one night when he was trying to turn the fan off but turned the light off instead, and now it won't come back on). So it's too dark in there to see anything...and since my aide of the bed is about three steps into the door I just haven't been back there much for the past few weeks. I usually wear a few different things that get washed and worn again before they get to the closet...not much need to be in there. Anyway...found more laundry.

So tonight I managed to catch up on most of the laundry...still have some for tomorrow. I also went through all of Jack's clothes and the girls clothes and packed up what doesn't fit or isn't appropriate seasonally for them. I started pulling out what I need to pack for going to my moms next week. So my week this week is going good...I hope to end the week with no more laundry (except upkeep) and have the bags packed already. Then next week I can focus on cleaning. My MIL decided to come in January to visit...NOT fun. This lady is barely welcome in our house....and only because my husband says so. I really don't ever want her in there. She has threatened to call CPS because of our house being "SOOOOOO messy"....it was so messy then that I could have easily had it spot on clean in less then an hour. She also always makes comments to Paul about me being lazy or me changing him for the worse etc. She doesn't like that he now doesn't drink or cuss or go to bars or do drugs...all the things he did with her before he joined the Army and then got saved right after he met me. I didn't change him, but God did. He also has a totally different outlook on kids, which blows his parents minds. They believe the whole "two kids and a dog is perfect" bit. When we first got married he only wanted two...after having two he said four. When I was pregnant with four he said six...and now he says as many as God gives us. I came from a large family so it really doesn't matter to me...it's always been his decision of how many he was comfortable with...and his parents think that I convinced him and that he doesn't have any say in anything. They also constantly treat him like he is a child and not like they would any other 37yo man...downing him, saying he can't do things right, etc. My mom is constantly telling me to just get over it because after all she isn't a Christian and you can't expect her to act like something she isn't....but I don't think it's asking too much for her to act decently with both of us instead of how she treats us. That's just common courtesy. Anyway...now I have to get the house in totally complete MIL order by a few weeks from now...while being gone a week and a half for the holidays. NOT fun.

she is a truck driver who likes to cuss and drink and thinks she knows everything...and thi8nks that because she is opinionated that it gives her the right to spew on anyone. One thing though, last time she was visiting for a few days we only had two kids and they were much younger...now I can guarantee you that my husband is more mature and has grown more in his fathering abilities, and he now takes great offense and stands up for things that back then he didn't...so she better watch what she says. I need to talk to him about the possibility of her wanting th have the kids with her overnight or something though...and I am not comfortable with that because of her cussing and drinking. She is supposed to have her step grandson with her who is 9yo...we have never met him...so I have a feeling that will come up about them staying the night with her at least one night. I really don't like that. We did let the older two stay with Paul's dad and step mom one night when they visited a few months ago, but they don't cuss like she does

we have in the past had to say things to her, but she always just says that this is just how she is...and she constantly refers to herself in names that I will not use, either here (TOS) or IRL. She likes living up to that standard though...so there's not much we can do. I did however talk to Paul and ask him to pray about what "rules" he wanted to enforce while she is here because I am very uncomfortable with her drinking and with her cussing around the kids. So he is on that and we will figure out what he needs to discuss with her before anything is decided. He has no problem doing that...and usually she is good about hearing him out...but if it were to come from me it would be ignored. He said he has been thinking about those two things too and was going to talk to me about hos I felt about that. She said on the phone the other day that she would keep the kids...ALL the kids...one night so we could have some time alone...but since we are going to my moms next week and will be there for a week and a half and have already made plans to have a date one night, I really don't think it's necessary. Esp with the two littlest ones. Emma doesn't like strangers at ALL...and Jack is still nursing. So anyway...he is praying about what to do about this one.
