That is soo very exciting! Congratulations!

I haven't officially posted my status so:
For me, I'm <ahem> 31, nevermarried, no kids, parent to one extremely annoying cat (but she's really a beautiful cat so it's hard to not love her)- but my parents have gained semi-permanent custody of her. (I'm not allowed to have pets where I live - and my parents need a pet anyway - they just won't openly admit it!)

I've posted various bits of my stats here and there... But, I'll post more here...

My name's Ray, just recently turned 35, and I am currently living in south eastern Nebraska. I am divorced, no kids, and currently engaged to a wonderful, godly woman that I met here in the forum. Well, I can't say I don't have 'any kids....' I have a four legged one, a cat named Tiger.

I've played the trupet for 6 years, but haven't done much of anything with it since my sophomore year in high school (I loved playing in concerts and jazz band, but I really detested, and wasn't very good at, marching band). I took two semesters of classical guitar while in college. I still have both my trumpet and classical guitar, but I rarely play either of them.

I used to be active duty with the US Army, but currently I am with the Nebraska National Guard. My current civilian job is working for the Nebraska Department of Corrections as a Corporal, currently assigned to the Death Row group of the prison. However, my real love is doing full-time ministry or teaching. But, God has yet to open any doors to those areas of work.

Like John_O, I love to 'pun-ish' people with my corny jokes. (I can't help it! When I was really young, my Dad had a church in rural Iowa and I was surrounded by corn fields. It was my environment!) I'm also a huge Sci-Fi fan, and I really love my wide screen TV and home theater system.

Well, I guess that's enough for now.

In Christ,

RC

Its hard work but definately worth it. If i can offer some advice by expereince i would first try to find someone to partner with (as in a fostering family) and do relief fostering for a while. It gives you a taste and gives them a break. You get to feel it for a while as well as enjoy the love you can bring to a child. But i have found that I worked well with the children of foster parents that i could see eye to eye with. If you dont really connect with the foster parents, I found it much harder to work with the child.
But most of all I say, Go for it. Its the best thing i ever did and I dont regret it at all

I don't think I've posted here, either.

I'm 27.

My mom and I share a home with 4 very spoiled cats:
Ari, Melody, Baby, and Buddy.

I have never dated, been asked out on a date legitimately (one guy asked me out to make fun of me), or asked anyone else on a date.

I work for the world's largest disability insurance company, but I do Family Medical Leave.

I have a degree in vocal music education.

I sing soprano and am webmaster for Pure Heart, my life's dream!

I sing in the choir at my church when I'm home and do solos and stuff.

Single, never married, no girlfriend, living alone, except for the flock of starlings with their nests in the eaves of the house.

Okay; now I'm depressed again.

I am also never married. I live with my cat, Chessie, and a parakeet whom I have never bothered to name because she bites me every time I feed her.
I live in an apartment building tenanted exclusively by the elderly and handicapped.
I am a graduate of Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, TN with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies/Radio and Television Production.
I am unemployed and live on SSDI because of an amputation and a bad heart.
I am without girlfriend, so if you know anyone in the southwest corner are of Indiana, let me know.

Pauley does your cat look hungrily at the bird?

You could name the bird Tweety, or would you rather just get another, nicer bird?

Feel free to post an introduction about yourself in the intro thread at the top or just start posting wherever. The chat thread is a good place to start since it tends to be quite random!

Not any more. When Chessie gets too close, she gets bitten too.

Actually, the pet store guy told me she was a male, so her name was "Peter" until she laid an egg a couple of months ago.
I think of refusing to give her a new name as a kind of punishment for being so anti-social.

When she dies I'm getting a goldfish.

Oh, why just a goldfish? If you're on SSI (not blaming you for that, disabled people like you are who it should be for), you must have some time, and why not do a full on saltwater aquarium (I know, then no goldfish)? I've always wanted to do one of those, but haven't had the time/money.

I worked as a casemanager for foster children for about a year.......and before that worked at a shelter for children who were taken. My heart is definitely there.......just need the money! And, yeah, can totally see where it would be good to go that route. Hadnt really thought of that before. thanx!

I am 27 currently single.(my fiance was killed in iraq) I don't have kids. I have 1 niece and 1 nephew.

BelieveinHim2,
One of my last acts at my job I was RIF'd from in January was to hang a thank you flag from an Apache pilot and crew on our office wall. We had (and may still have) his wife employed here in town. That was not something I could easily just slap up on the wall, and I have great respect and admiration for our armed forces in harm's way, no matter what I hear about them. I'm sorry to hear about your loss, and I can only imagine that's something that still just comes right back and works away at you. I'm praying for His awesome peace in your life each day.

In His awesome love,
OneJohn410

Same goes for me. Except I'm the female version.
Oops! I've been in a few relationships (I can count them on one hand).

I never thought of a salt water reef. That's a good idea.

As far as the bird goes, after I got her I spent a lot of time trying to finger train her but I guess she's just not the type. I think she's just mean.

Pauley you should name the bird Peake to go along with Chessie. I think there was a promotional poster during WWII for the C&O railroad that had a another cat named Peake that was dressed as a soldier and was Chessie's mate. While it would quite be the same as 2 cats you would at least have both Chessie and Peake.

Just hit the big 5-0. Never married, no kids. 10 nieces and nephews, but they live far away. I get to see them about once a year. But I'm a teacher so I get to live with middle school kids every day!

This summer I get to have lunch with a former student of mine who's 35! Yikes!
