I'll help you out, they were stupid. Also annoying and distracting. There was nothing new in them other than to point out inane things like the name of the funeral home was an anagram for "flash forward".

In general I agree. If it was a new episode, it would have annoyed me to no end. The only reason I could tolerate it was b/c I had actually seen the episode before and was watching for a refresher.

Good episode. I'm so glad it's back but I hate having to wait a week for the next one
I also really enjoy Hurley's hallucinations. It was nice to see Charlie again. It was interesting also in the flash forward we see Hurley telling Jack he wished he had stayed with him. I'm anxious to see how that all pans out, since Hurely was so adamant about listening to his friend Charlie. I think those "rescuers" are also bad guys, and Ben is right.. but then I can't help thinking maybe not. I'm just so glad it's back! I love this show.

Maybe Charlie's making the sign of the cross backwards was on purpose, somehow reflecting he was on "the other side" now.

quote:

I noticed Ben asked Jack permission to go with them at the end. a nod to his leadership I guess. I was surprised Ben asked in such a way.

I took that as sarcastic. When he first came to them he kept baiting Jack and Locke, pitting their leadership against each other. I felt it was just one more dig like that.

I felt Jorge Garcia did a tremendous job in last night's episode, from the pure joy of doing a cannonball to the grief over Charlie to being angry and taking control a couple of times.

The guy he was playing Connect Four with in the asylum looked familiar.

I only caught the last bit of the recap show, but narrator Ben said something about the island helping them deal with their pasts -- seeming to indicate that that was the problem with leaving it too soon. But the new episode is also strongly hinting that there is something that went on with those left behind and that perhaps they're in some danger now.

I am wondering about Naomi's message to tell her sister that she loved her -- I am wondering if whoever her sister is will come up again later.

I can't wait til the next episode!

I didn't even think of that, but yeah, you are probably right. It was just the same thing again.

I will have to have my hubby send me the link again, but there is a really neat thing regarding Jacob that we found. Its a freeze frame and you can see some one sitting in the chair, not clearly, but they are there. Well when you look at the freeze frame it looks like Jack's father, no lie...its crazy. So when I get the link I will post it.

Oh that's creepy!

I've watched it in slo-mo but it's too blurry for me to make out more than just a face.

Are you talking about when Locke saw Jacob? B/c we watched it in frame by frame, and saw the person, but I didn't think he looked like Jack's dad.

My guess is that she doesn't have a sister, and the people with her know that, so it was more of a distress code than anything else.

No, no...when Hurley looked in the window in last nights episode. We also so the freeze frame for that one and it was a different looking guy.

Here is the link: LOST - JACOB
Scroll down to where it says Hurley Meets Jacob.

I was shocked when Hurley lied to the police officer about Ana Lucia, saying he had never met her. Maybe he just didn't want to tell the guy that Ana Lucia was dead.

I'm wondering if it has something to do with the terms of them getting off the island...maybe when they left the island someone decided they would make everyone think they were the only ones who survived the crash. Plus, how would he explain how Ana died anyways without going into detail everything that happened on the island.

That part of the show made me laugh out loud.

That did seem like a strange part to add in, it must be leading up to something.

Ok so now my question - why were Kate and Jack looking at the guy who parachuted in so strangely? If they don't know who he is wouldn't they be a bit more upbeat since they are about to be rescued?

Do they know him, or is it that he parachuted in and doesn't look like he can rescue everyone?

What did you all think about Jack pulling the trigger on Locke, other than "Good thing that gun wasn't loaded," of course? I think Jack is still mad at Locke for blowing up that submarine and his efforts in general to keep people from getting off the island, but I was surprised that Jack was willing to kill him.

Very good episode. First I think it is Hurley that is in the casket from last May's finale.
When Hurley was looking in Jacob's cabin I thought I heard Jacob say something, did anyone else?
I can't believe there are going to be just 7 more episodes becausue of the strike.
I rather liked the bubble pop ups on the finale rerun, some of them were kinda funny, although I didn't watch the whole two hours because I needed to be wide awake when I teach in school.

Kath I love your avatar, my cat looks similar, but she's more of a laid back diva, except when she's chasing birds.

I'm not sure it was Jacob saying something - it sounded to me like the whispering we've heard before.

Me too! I find I watch "too hard" the first time around, looking for clues and stuff. So I watch again. I also keep the entire current season on my pvr just in case I have to go back!

Here's the last paragraph from an article about the premiere from The Washington Post (you can find a link to it on lost-media.com): "Odd, too, that there are no mosquitoes on a humid, tropical island, but maybe the Snarling Black Smoke that used to fling people to death doubled as a bug zapper. Still, you'd think a jumbo jet that spilled people, pressed chinos, a wheelchair, a dog and sundry other useful items intact onto the island would have scattered bags of stale mini-pretzels and copies of SkyMall through the jungle, too. But why nitpick?" LOL...Maybe Michael and Jin incorporated all of the SkyMalls into that raft they built, or the Losties have been using them to build shelters or something.

Oh, speaking of the dog, wonder where Vincent is? Did anybody spot him? Michael and Walt left him behind when they left on the boat, didn't they?

Yesterday on The View Whoopi gave away a small bit of the plot in the upcoming season (she was allowed to do so).

I'll pull a Kath and write it in white in... Another plane is discovered out in the ocean, it's Oceanic Airlines Flight 815 and there are people on it.

I wonder how that plays into things.

I was afraid Hurley was going to burn Jacob's cabin down. Whose eye was looking back at him ?

Was the patch eye guy the one that pushes on the glass water pours into the jail interview room ?

When the so called Oceanic lawyer visits Hurley there is a chalk drawing of a palm tree, shark on the chalkboard.

Ok, I watched it frame by frame, and I saw Jack's dad. Just before they showed Jack's dad, they showed a picture on the wall, and it was of a dog. It was not Vincent, b/c it looked like a German Shepherd. Wasn't Vincent a golden?

Not sure if it means anything, but they focused on the dog picture for a while.

Here are some of my guesses:

Sawyer is in the casket - When Jack goes inside the funeral home and the man asks "friend or family?" Jack replies neither.

I think Kate is pregnant - She told Sawyer that Juilet was after the pregnant woman and Sawyer basically told her lets hope she's (Kate) not pregnant. I also think when Kate and Jack meet at the end of Season 3 and she refers to a "him" and having to get back to him...I think its Kate and Sawyer's child. Could be wrong, but this is my theory.

Ok has anyone noticed in the flash forwards that Jack has made to references to his dad as though he is still alive. Once when he tries to get his prescription refilled and they refuse and then again when the one doctor is question him. Jack says go find my dad and says something like "tell me if he is drunker than I am". Its weird!
