I hope you have time to share later too! I love when you share what the Lord has taught you. Course, I am a visual person, learning through seeing and doing, and when you paint a visual with your words - well, it just comes alive in my mind.

You have company. I hesitate about starting new threads too.

btw, can you believe Tina? She comes in here and mentions that w*** word! Yikes! She will learn. So I ran over to see if she had some coffee and cookies. I could use a cookie. Maybe a couple sound better. I just got The News from my accountant. I am not feeling very joyful at the moment.

Thank you Sam.........today I needed to hear those words.

In a casual conversation with a friend I came to realize how people might view the things I write, say or experience.

I asked the person if they believed God spoke to me.

The answer.......I can't answer... only you and He know for sure.

WOW. Eye opener of me.

*gulp* I should really learn to watch my language. Apologies.

As a peace offering I brought over some of my best selection of therapy cookies....Chocolate chip, peanut butter, snickerdoodles, and brownie cookies.

Awww, thanks ((hugs)). I think I might hang out a little around here, even if my cover is blown! lol

I still answer to both, but I've been quite fond of "FunBetty" for quite some time--- long before the CW change!

Geez, just as I was managing to get used to being warm again, the temperatures have dumped. I'm TIRED of being cold!

Good morning!!

I went for my afternoon walk yesterday and almost melted. It was 96 degrees. I have to remind myself where I live. What did I think?

... but it's only the middle of April!!! <pout>

All my fun of playing with everyone because of our beautiful weather is over.

It's tax day! Does everyone have those taxes in? All I know is I'm taking the route that does not go past the post office this afternoon ...

Taxes are in and the refund already spent... I take it as my personal responsibility to help keep the economy going- keep that money in circulation folks!

Well, I didn't want to totally assume a new identity! And you can't see my nametag in the pic, but it is a "Fun Betty" nametag!! (I have a Betty nametag and totally snuck to the label maker machine and made a "Fun" label to put in front of my name).

It's a little cool here in TX. Kind of weird for mid-april, but no complaints from me, because Summer's coming!

Indeed. I had a job where my boss gave me a label maker to use (for a specific purpose, of COURSE! ) but right before I quit to move away I made a label that said "Tina was here" and stuck it underneath a desk. That was 4+ years ago, and I sooo wish I could go back and see if it's still there (it probably is)

Doing a little devotion that I like to sneak in daily from a special book ...

The high places were not removed from Israel. Nevertheless the heart of Asa was loyal all his days

2 Chronicles 15:17

Are there things in our life - whether physical or intellectual - where we are not paying attention? Just as our heart must beat continuously day after day, and just as we must feed and exercise our bodies to maintain our health - we must spend time in the Word daily, we must spend time in conversation with God - it is necessary for our spiritual health.

Are we guilty of thinking "Oh, that thing in my life doesn’t matter much"? Is the enemy trying to refocus our thoughts away from what God desires from us? Next time a thought runs through your mind, rather than pushing it aside, ask yourself "Why am I thinking that?" Is it something God is convicting us on? Is it a little thought that we need to bring to His attention to help in our walk of faith? What is it? Why are we thinking these things? Phil 4:8 tell us to think about things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely ... are these the things we are filling our mind with? The wonders in this world that God has given us to think about and enjoy? Or are we focusing on what's next? What more can I buy? What more can I have?

Are we appreciating what He has given us? Or are we just taking it all for granted? How much longer are we going to prevent God from teaching us even one thing He wants us to know? He is always trying to teach us, and He never loses patience.

Praise God for His tremendous love and mercy and grace!

Today, I am humoring myself. I found my pedometer and will find out just how much walking I'm doing.

Will I be surprised? Will it be a kind of surprise or a kind of surpirse?

LOL ...

Last night the munchkin and I went to the workout room. I have learned that treadmills are, well, boring. There's not a whole lot of excitement going on while I'm *walking*. Yeah, sure, I can change if I'm taking a nice little stroll or a fast walk. I can change if I'm walking on flat land or pretend like I'm hiking up the incline of a mountain. But, let's fact it, there's no change in scenery! There's no chance of catching a gentle breeze. There's no running across another person who's also walking and enjoying the day!! There's no interaction with other people!!

The other thing I discovered is I don't like this getting older thing. Now, don't get me wrong - I certainly don't mind the aging factor when it comes to the numbers. No no no, that doesn't bother me in the least. I like leaving those *younger* years behind, and enjoy knowing that I'm learning something every day. I love that!

Then what? It's the little aches in my bones. When I do the stepper, my hip hurts from overdoing weight training in my 20's. (Why didn't they tell me upfront that I shouldn't have been doing that amount of weight - just because I could do it didn't necessarily mean it was a good thing.) When I walk a lot, my ankle sometimes hurts from tearing ligaments many years ago. (I still hear echos of the doctor telling me I would have been better off breaking my ankle. Nice. Thanks. 'preciate that doc.) When I ride the bike, after a while my knee does this little popping thing. (I have vivid memories of that bike crash... and the bruises, and the glass imbedded in the palms of my hands. And I remember telling myself that I couldn't let that stop me from doing something I loved so much.)

*sigh*

THAT's the part of getting older I'm not enjoying.

So you mean to tell me all those things my body is saying to me is from getting old? Here I thought it was from me getting fat.............

Sometimes I get discourage at the things which are harder for me to do now.......then I look at other people my age and think wow, girlie, you have it so much better then you think.

A strong, healthy body is a blessing for sure.

LOL

It sure isn't for wimps - but we don't have a choice

A friend suggests that I try - I don't even know if I'm going to say it correctly, so laugh if I'm way off - a supplement with glucosamine / chondroitin. But isn't that for arthritis? I take something for my arthritis (which I've had since I was 13), and it's most helpful. When I am negligent about taking it, I can definitely tell, so I know it's working well for me. And I get it through natural sources.

I really hesitate to just take something because it's the popular thing to do. That seems like a bad idea. I'm thinking I need to check into some other forms of exercise to help with the hip / knee / ankle issues. I am all about natural remedies - whether that's the diet (the whole of the foods I consume), exercise, supplements, or cutting something out of my diet. I am all for chiropractic, massage, and accupressure.

Have you done tai-chi? I heard it's gentle on joints, but also good for strengthening. In fact, I have a couple tapes - and let me tell you - wowzers! Talk about a workout. Okay, the ones I have really focus on the thighs and behind. And does it ever work those areas.

I think I'll keep a food and exercise log, to include aches and energy level notes. That way I can look back and see if there are any trends, of if there is something that triggers certain things - good or bad.

Lots of people are taking those now, they are suposed to be good for your joints but I'm not sure.
