Hey John have you ever been to Straved Rock State park? They have a waterfall which freezes each winter in these amazing blue, green, agua and diamond colors..........It is a very short hike to the water fall but well worth the trip..........Similar to the coloring of the glaciers I saw when I was kayaking in Alaska.........

Those ice towers are awesome!

But ....... I particularly like the dissertation about the nozzles and how they came to be. Right on!!!

What can I say, I work with engineering geeks (meant in the absolutely nicest way of course ) who help people patent stuff like this!!

A patent application might include language such as: The said first part of the said second part of the nozzle head 402 of the female part 603 connects to pipe 804 to create a flow as illustrated in FIG. 18, and described further in the flowchart of FIG. 20.

Wow, I must be a little geekette

Do you sometimes have trouble reading your own handwriting? I'm happy when I write stuff down,
LOL sounds like we have something in common........I am a huge note taker and am rarely seen without my notebook and pen during church, classes or while studying the bible.........when I take notes at church or class I rarely go back through and read them.........for me just writing them down helps cement them into my mind........it keeps me focused.......if I don't take notes my mind can tend to wander LOL

Oh boy, I can relate to this on so many counts. I have bad handwriting and I take my planner and paper with me everywhere. I have developed my planner system over many years to the point where it is very organized/complicated.

I also have a planner program on computer and I print out my projects notes and put them in my planner.

Gary, you are way too organized!

I throw everything in a stack on my dresser, and when I get tired of looking for it, or feel a panic attack might hit because I can't remember the last time I wrote out my bills, then I take the time to go through everything.

Good organizational skills, eh?

Seriously, I spend so much time doing that at work, that by the time I get home I don't want to be bothered. Kinda like the mechanic who doesn't take care of his own car.

What's everyone else's favorite salad?

Honeymoon salad

Hi John! Good to see you

Dare I ask what honeymoon salad is?

Or are you referring to any salad you may eat on your honeymoon?

Lettuce Alone

Sounds cool but I've never been there. Clifty fall is down here but I've never been there in winter It has about 5 good sized waterfalls.

I have been to cliffy falls.........it is a really nice state park BUT most the waterfalls are dried or a very low flow by august........I don't think they ever really freeze do they?

You live by one of my favorite state parks in the winter.....spring mills.........I love visiting there.........I often take paper and pen to the village and sit by the banks of the river and imagine what it would have been like to live there so long ago........

Once I did it in the winter and I think the few people who came by thought I was crazy......but I dressed really warm and it was so peaceful.........

Have you taken the girl through the cave yet? K loved it when I took her a few summers ago.......

Ice Towers

Remembering the above link was prompted by wfisaac's avatar.

There's some pretty cool things on it.

Those are absolutely fabulous. They kind of put the little Boyne City water main drainage to shame.

Did any of you notice on the link under the Twin Towers one that the second to the last picture at the bottom on the left looks like an angle kneeling on a hill? You have to go check it out!

Good morning all!

Since I've told you all about Dan here, I feel I can tell you this and ask for prayer.

He was diagnosed with Sjogren syndrome a few weeks ago. The reason I'm mentioning it is because his doctor referred him to another doctor, and his appointment isn't until March, so he isn't even being treated yet. He feels his voice is being affected (he did a solo concert this past Monday), and we have a concert tomorrow, so please pray.

Here's a short paragraph about Sjogren from WebMD:

Sjögren's syndrome (say "SHOW-grins") is a disorder in which the immune system attacks the body's moisture-producing glands, such as the tear glands and the saliva glands. These glands may become scarred and damaged, and extreme dryness in the eyes and mouth (sicca syndrome) may develop. Sjögren's syndrome may also cause fatigue, pain in the joints, and problems with the function of vital organs, such as the lungs, kidneys, and nerves. Sjögren's syndrome is an autoimmune disease, in which a person's immune system attacks its own tissues as though they were foreign substances. Sjögren's affects over one million people throughout the United States.

Good morning Pam!

I am so glad you put this prayer request here. I am a huge believer in intercessory prayer!!

I am praying for Dan ..... our Father is capable of miracles, and we have every reason to believe He will perform one!!

Besides making sure he's drinking plenty of water, I have no idea. I'll see what he thinks. Maybe he's already thought of something. Thanks.

I had an adventure this morning .......

You know how you are planning to do something, like get new tires, and have a date in mind that just so happens to coincide with, oh say, a payday? Yes! Well, I am planning to get new tires for my car this month. In two weeks. Hmmm, that coincides almost with Valentine's Day. What does that say about me and my car?

...... oh sorry, got sidetracked there ......

However, this morning my car decided to take things into it's own hands. We got about halfway to the munchkin's school when I commented that the car sounded pretty strange, and the munchkin said he thought it was That Tire.

...... I admit to having a tire that was just a teeny bit low, but nothing serious ......

So I immediately pulled over, got out to check it, and sure enough! I had a big black pancake on the front right! Now, I don't know about any of you, but that's not exactly what I want to see on my car. I like to see a nice giant dark chocolate looking donut where my tires go. That could just be me.

I had everything I needed to change the tire. Except a wrench. *sigh* So I called my roadside assistance folks.

While we waited, we were able to see the jets flying over, practicing for their thing for the Super Bowl. It's always so exciting to see them flying!!

We saw several hot air balloons taking off just up the road. If not for the delay, we would have missed that experience.

And, I think, I'm not sure because I've never seen them before in real life ...... I think I saw some geese fly overhead!! Not 100% sure. I don't know if they come down this far south.

I suppose my adventure may have been a little better if I hadn't had that cup of coffee this morning and had to go you-know-what so badly!!

The munchkin is a music freak, and is always bouncing the car in rhythm with whatever happens to be on the radio ...... even if there isn't any music playing ...... and I had to ask him to please stop it several times.

And my friend on the phone had a good laugh too . I'm always so happy to provide something to laugh about, even if it's me. I will get over it. I will. Really. It's okay. (really ...... because you know I'll get you back )

So, here I am safely at work.

I wonder what the purpose of the delay was this morning? We were discussing this last night ...... sometimes God arranges delays for a reason. Perhaps I was able to miss a car accident. Perhaps it was just His was of saying, slow down Sam ...... stop and look at the beauty around you ...... something new to see ...... or seeing things from a different place, giving the views a different look ...... another reason to praise God for all He does for our senses ...... the gentle breeze, the crisp air, the blue sky, the different trees and how they look during winter, some with leaves and some with bare branches waiting for spring.

I think I caught something. From Joy. Spring Fever.

It will be here before I know it!
