So, what's the story with those $50 airfares? I checked Southwest, and it will cost me $400!!!

Okay, I exaggerated ...... it's only $397.50.

Apparently there's a rally going on to get me there ....... LOLOL

I'm skeeered of JohnO and the donuting boat

j/k with ya John!!!

(I really don't do boats or water very well, and I don't want to be a killjoy, kwim?)

However, I will say I have not 100% ruled it out. There are LOTS of you I would love to meet!!!

We'll let you stay on the big boat. It is kind of liek being on land for most of the time. I figure we'll have it parked in the cove somewhere while the more adventurous (5 or 6 at a time) go tubing or something.

In any event I'd never let you get hurt.

Last year there were a couple who stayed in the boat, except for getting in and out of it.

Anyway, you won't get wet unless you want to.

I'll probably be more adventurous this year.

I love this from one of my devotions this morning. How very true

Arguments against the existence of God can sound good, but they amount to nothing more than opinion in the face of fact. We walk by faith, not by sight. God is looking for faith-walkers.

I am certainly a faith-walker!!

WOW, this thread is hopping! Sam, that would really be exciting if you can come. I am hoping to go to Lord willing!

These are my sermon notes from last Sunday.

BECAUSE I SAID SO - Commands of Christ, Part 1

Mark 12:28 One of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him, "What commandment is the foremost of all?"

Mark 12:29 Jesus answered, "The foremost is, 'HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD;

Mark 12:30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.'

Mark 12:31 "The second is this, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

Command/Commandment: to direct with specific authority; to require; a mandate

Greek “command” = precept

Hebrew “commandment” = a reality

Mark 12:31 "The second is this, 'YOU SHALL LOVE .....

This is talking about agape love

A deep and constant love; moving forward in love; when others pull away, one who loves you pulls closer to you

Hebrew root for love; to breathe after; to dote upon

.....YOUR NEIGHBOR .....

Neighbor, one who is near or close by

Is there anyone in your life that wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for Jesus?

Perhaps people you refer to as “Jesus people”, you can only love them with the love of Jesus

God’s love is not an independent light, it’s a light that draws others to us

God sometimes uses heat and pressure to *iron out the wrinkles* in our life

Sometimes He uses people we don’t like to get the wrinkles out of us

Selfishness destroys love

..... AS YOURSELF.'

Your own house or body

Mark 12:29 Jesus answered, "The foremost is, 'HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD; .....

“Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord” - this is known as the Shema.

We must love God, He is in a class all of His own, there is no one who we can love in the way we love God

Mark 12:30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD .....

God is the Supreme authority; we are to dote on God, give Him our greatest attention

..... WITH ALL .....

Hold nothing back ….. with our whole being

..... YOUR HEART .....

Our heart is the center of our desires, our thoughts, our feelings

..... WITH ALL YOUR SOUL .....

With our breath, our spirit; this is our uniqueness; don’t do it for show, copying how another worships, be unique, let it come from you

..... WITH ALL YOUR MIND .....

With an understanding; our deepest thoughts; thinking about what God is doing in my life

..... AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH .....

Strength being our might, our power, a forcefulness that we exhibit

..... This is the first commandment .....

Our passion for the Lord is contagious - let it show!!

The Holy Spirit points out to us what the Father is doing in us ..... and for us ..... and all around us

Jesus said “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” John 14:15

How are you doing this morning Mikey?

Yes, now everyone knows why I drink coffee. It can be mind-numbing. So many details to keep straight ..... at one time I used to have to make a list of all the *reference numbers* as I proofed the applications (the 402, 603, 804) and there were sometimes PAGES of these lists for one case. I must have been on to something, because my boss decided to make it standard practice for the new associates he was training. LOL

Ah! It was an excellent way to stay focused and know what you were doing.

Good morning Veronica!

I'm going to have to get a move on this morning ...... got to run to the grocery store and get the stuff for my Super Bowl Chili. Hey! If I do make it to the GT, maybe I can make it at JohnO's house! Well, of course, only if he doesn't mind me making a mess in the kitchen ....... and of course I would clean it all up ....... he would have to be side-tracked while the mess was going on though.

I checked online to see when the VBS is going on this summer, and there are a couple different weeks. I'm not sure which one the munchkin will be going to. I need to check with his friend's mom, since they will be going together. One of them starts on June 9th. If they go to that one, no way am I going to go to the GT. I was having major munchkin withdrawals last year I can't be away from him that long....... nevermind I need to help get him packed up, and get last-minute stuff.

Hmmmm, if I remember correctly, he didn't miss me quite as much. He must be growing up.

Aww...even though they don't show it in the same ways, they still love their moms (and aunts ) just as much. I had a little reality slap this Christmas with my nephew. He's my first born nephew (now 19) and we've always been close. He's always showered me with hugs and kisses. But this Christmas he had his girlfriend so his aunt took a back burner. And after when everyone was getting ready to leave he walked out the door with his girlfriend and didn't even say good bye or give me his usual hug or kiss...and I just stood there thinking "uh oh...guess the aunt just doesn't even rate anymore" and then a couple minutes later he came walking back in the door and walked right over to me and gave me the biggest bear hug and kiss....he remembered! It's so mixed watching them grow up...you are excited to see them grow up and what kind of an adult they are becoming...but then it's sad because there is a letting go process.

Yep, when the originals in the feeder get thrown all out of place, it is a mess. Then we have to "guess" how it all fits together.

Speaking of copier jams...guess what I've been finding in my copier and printer? Nuts and candy kisses. I have a resident rodent and for some reason he thinks those are good places to hide his stash.

A little while ago I had a whole bag of cherry cordial kisses missing and I thought one of my drivers stole them. About a month later I found them all stashed in a corner in my office....with little teeth marks in every one of them.

That's a pretty sneaky little mouse! Teeth marks in every one of them ..... that reminds me when I was a kid, and my little sister would lick something so nobody else would take it.

You know..I couldn't understand how he could haul that many kisses to his hiding spot in just one night. We're talking the whole bag full and even though kisses aren't big...you figure in comparison to a mouse they're quite a load. But then I found his stash of coffee nips he'd been stealing...and even though those are hard candy he was actually eating them....so, that solved the mystery of how he had all the energy.....he's running on high octane caffeine...he's probably got a nervous twitch by now.
