Okay folks, after some discussion in other threads about GT's, here's the official 2008 Singles GT thread.

It will be held June 6-8, in southern IN (details to follow) at John's house.
As before, he's willing to put up people at the house (first come, first serve).
We will have fun and games Friday night (maybe the karaoke machine will be in by then???) and spend ALL day at the lake on Saturday.
He has his pontoon boat and will be reserving a double-decker pontoon boat (that has a slide).
We will NOT be having a shelter this time.

Estimated cost once at the GT is $50 max:
Your travel to and from John's (if flying, Indianapolis is the closest)
Meals
Pontoon boat & fuel

John is covering the cost of the boat and I am covering the cost of the food, so we are the ones who will need reimbursed that weekend. So, the more people who come, the better for everyone!!!!!

Also, like last year, I will be coordinating travel for everyone. So, if you're flying in and need picked up at the airport, I will work with you on that. No need to let that stop you from attending.

OOOOOOHHHHHH ... I am SO on the fence on this at this time!

It sounds like a BLAST.

But last year, the only reason I was able to go is that a windfall came out of nowhere (an allergy testing study that paid me for my visits.) That enabled me to rent a vehicle since I didn't trust Ye Olde Escort to make the drive.

This year, Escort is older ... so if I do get any extra money, it should be put aside for another car!

I will have to do some thinking and see if that is a weekend I am off.
I am trying to save all my vacation so I can get paid for it when I quit to go to school.
Would love to come though.

Since I'm not going to Alaska this year I may just do it. Although there's a chance (small one) I may choose to drive so I can easily bring my camera equipment. That way everyone can gawk (whoever is awake) at pre-dawn while I head out for pics (assuming wildlife is in the area...).

It will be wait and see for me because of the program that I'm working in, our contract is extended until July. Then again, I need to check w/my site supervisor too..[:D]

Barring unforeseen circumstances, I'M THERE! And John, I'd like to stay at the house again, if I may. And hopefully not on a chair in the TV room again (I'm not planning on a cold again this year!).

At this point, I'm not sure...although the thought of spending an entire day on the water--with a slide at that!--is quite tempting!

And ME driving too! Also, John's pontoon will be used to drag people around the lake as well - he's got some fun toys! [:)]

Its official that is a work weekend and I just cant afford to take 36 hours of vacation [:(]

Well, maybe I'll have to do another Missouri swing again (seeing that I did talk to Columbia yesterday and plan on going to see him again).

Well we are hiring some new people soon so I dont know.
Will see about the trading weekends when it gets closer but it is doubtful.
