AI was just too boring tonight..I tuned out when they brought the cheerleaders and band on the stage.... I wonder if Paula has any idea how terrible she looked on that stage?

Hurray! Hey, I thought the duet the two Davids did in the first half hour or so of the show was very good, and I hope it gets released on iTunes. It's like Cook's edge rubbed off a little on Archie. Also thought that Michael's and Carly's duet was very good too. Then I missed some of the show because I had to pick up my daughter, but I managed to see that last 30 min. Syesha's number was not the best for her vocally, but she gets cool points too for having Seal as a duet partner instead of some hotshot rapper. I'm glad Jason sang the song he did, because it was one of his best performances prior to this on the show. Poor Jordin. That dress didn't do a thing for her. The song was ok. It was sweet that the cameras cut to Blake and he was singing along in the audience. The first two group numbers were only so-so but I thought they did ok on the George Michael number. However...none of the group numbers tonight were anywhere close as good as "Seasons of Love" and "Shout to the Lord" ... perhaps because of lack of rehearsal time this week? I thought Carrie outdid George Michael herself with her version of "Praying for TIme" a few weeks ago. As far as Carrie's song tonight...oh, why do all country songs have to either be about Jesus, lost love, or getting drunk? Was that Archie in the Guitar Hero commercial, doing the Tom Cruise/Risky Business thing? David Cook seemed to be a very gracious winner. EDITED TO ADD: The Mike Meyers/Love Guru thing was just stupid. I can just see both Cook and Archie rolling their eyes, saying "these are the things we have to do since we are the top two finalists."

Yup that was David A. I agree the duet with Carly and Michael Johns, it was great. It just took me awhile to recognize the song but they should go on a tour like a front act for David Cook.

Garsy I did not see the David C commercial at all---hmmm....very interesting. But then, hubby and son kept switching the channel to the Tigers game.

I was honestly hoping that David Archuleta would win, and I have to say that I am disappointed that he didn't. But he is young and has time left to pursue a musical career. Congrats to the Davids!

After watching back all the 12 finalists singing tonight, for those who thinks that this is a group with no talent, I tend to disagree. There are more great singers in this year's AI than any other year. And btw, only 10 of them are going to the tour right? So why bring the other 2 back tonight to sing with the group? I thought Donna Summers still looks great. I think she looks a lot better now than she was in her disco years. Dancers on the stage were from last year's So you think you can dance which starts tomorrow.

There was a contest going on? I only saw one superstar on that stage all night. When anyone else on that stage has sold almost 100 million CD's worldwide, then they deserve the title "Idol." I only saw one man all night worthy of that kind of pop music praise. Carrie Underwood butchered "Praying for Time!" She totally missed the angst and sadness in the song. I was fuming over that for days afterwards, and I even said that George needed to come on and show her how its done. Like usual, he mixed it up a bit-- he always does when he performs live. I like the album version better myself, but I might change my mind after hearing it a few times. I'll be putting it on my iPod in the morning. My DVR cut off at the last set of commercials, and I didn't even care. GEORGE MICHAEL, baby!

I am soo happy that David Cook won! He is an awesome singer and so much better than David Archuletta in my opinion.

I also love the last part when David C sang the finale song and they showed his brother on the camera and he mouthed 'that's my brother!' with that big smile-- that was a very sweet moment.

Garsy Errr....ok. I'll have a chance to see it when I run through the DVR tonight in order to see what I missed. The duets aren't up on iTunes today. I hope they will be added.

So glad David C won! Did someone alert Carrie Underwood that she FORGOT her pants when she went on stage. I had to change the channel so my daughters couldn't watch. So much for "Jesus Take the Wheel". Now she's singing songs about getting drunk, and marrying her one night stand!

I am not sure why everyone, including the judges, thought that David A. did so great and David C. fell on his face on Tuesday night. I didn't see that at all. I enjoyed what David C. did because he did it well, he changed it up on each song, and he was able to make it uniquely David Cook. I was so glad that Simon apologized to him. That meant a lot, coming from Simon. I think Simon finally realized that David Cook was "it" and Archuletta isn't all he's cracked up to be. Like I said, when they re-capped Tuesday night's three songs, you could have fit all of Archie's into one... cause they all sounded the same. I really thought that Archie was going to win though...because of the swaying of the judges, BUT I'm happy to say that I was wrong!!!! I was so glad for him! He seemed to really be a great winner, in that he invited all of his friends to come out with him in HIS moment to shine. Wow. He just seems like a very brotherly, nice guy. I hope he hits it big and does well. I am sure that he will if he keeps it uniquely David Cook...just hope that he doesn't get his ideas pushed out of the way by producers and such...

Seems like Carrie needs to get someone to professionally dress her. She dressed like a high class call girl, or should I say a "working" girl. Things sure do change. To me, it didn't matter who won. Both David's did a great job and it seems that they each both like and respect one another. Simon doing an about face was rare and of course the "I'm your brother" dude. Donna Summer still looks good at 60. I do remember her from her disco days and glad she is putting out some new music. This season was okay.

Remember, Simon is also good about getting voters to vote in the other direction. Hence, it turned out right since the producers wanted David C. to win. Worst part of the whole show - Amanda. She looked like she did not want to be there. She wasn't in sync at all in the group #s. She had a pouty look on her face. She totally was not interested in Donna Summer. In this case, I'm glad it is just top 10 that go on tour. AI ain't her bag! Wow, I would have never imagined marching band for the "Brother" song. I can just see the band directors in line to get sheet music for that for half time shows. It was (in the words of John McCain) crazy exciting! But, yeah Paula can sure make something wild look stupid. She is truly an "all about me" person. Yeah, movie reviews are not necessary for this show & a complete waste of time. They could have done better w/ that spot. I was kind of disappointed that Jason didn't get a star to sing with, but it was good to hear that song again. Yes, I totally agree w/ the duo of David & David. I can see them doing songs together in the future. I think I could say it was the best song of the whole night. Carly & Michael can do some together too. What in the world was that GM song about? I found it to be quite depressing & out of place at the end of the show. One of the worst segments ever. Well, I think we got us an idol that can join Kelly & Carrie in the success bracket. David C did prove this season that instruments was a good idea. He looked like he was living the dream w/ ZZ Topp. Great performance! kd

Actually, I read yesterday that she's 62! I'm glad to see that they got it right. If those group number were a preview of the tour then it's going to be one really bad show. They couldn't pay me to go see it.
