The Last Sin Eater by Francine Rivers-- incredible! Anything by Francine Rivers is great, though. And Ravi Zacharias is awesome, too! :)

I would recommend books by Bodie and Brock Thoene, if you're into the series kind of thing. They have romance, but the authors are Christian.

I have become a fan of T.Davis Bunn. I just finished - KIngdom Come, Reluctant Prophet and several more. Peretti- AWESOME By the way-- I belong to Paperbackswap.com and just trade books back and forth for postage costs. The Christian Section is beyond belief. You list your books and people that want to read that book request it from you. You mail to them and then you get a credit for the book. I have a few extra books- leave me an e-mail and I will send you a couple. After all--- that is what family does :} Be Blessed. 'Bama

Lynn Austin's Gods & Kings series is good. Check out this thread for books that appeal to women- lots of clean romances listed there.

I'm reading a book called "The Jesus I Never Knew", by Philip Yancey. It's very thought provoking, as are other titles by him, such as "What's So Amazing About Grace".

I'd reccomend the Prydain Chronicles by Lloyd Alexander. I grew up with the series and reread it to this day. Easily on the level of some of the fantasy greats.

Anything C.S Lewis. Mere Christianity is simply brilliant. And I love his Narnia series. Also, Purpose Driven Life is excellent.

This site is mainly for use by parents looking for suitable books for their kids, but there is one section called "What Derri is Reading" that is an ever changing list of what the site owner, a Christian, is reading for pleasure. It's kinda fun--I am such an avid reader, I'm always looking for new ideas-- maybe you will make some new discoveries there! You'll have to register-- just your name and e-mail-- but they don't use the info for anything. They just want parents to use a password to enter the site to protect kids from stumbling on some of the objectionable stuff in the reviews (they list anything in the book that parents might want to consider in deciding about a book for their children.) The site is www.bookangles.com Hope you find something you enjoy!

Jacob's Trouble, by O. Ariel. It intertwines truth and fiction, gives a healthy dose of reality and shows us where to put our trust and faith in these times. It's an ebook, but you can print it as you like, or listen to it online.

90 Minutes in Heaven...don't have the book with me but the author, a Baptist minister, died in a horrible car accident and another Baptist minister prayed for him and he came back to life! He spent 90 minutes in heaven and it's a fascinating read. True story!

Hm. If I had to make a few suggestions to you, I'd go to poetry-- Coleman Barks' translation of Jalal ad-Din Rumi-- "We Are Three"-- is good, with Charles Bukowski's "Slouching Towards Nirvana," and any sort of T.S. Eliot before 1927. But, if you wanted to go in a more prosey direction, "Egalia's Daughters" by Gert Brantenberg is great. And...though I'm sure it makes me sound silly, the Sandman collection of graphic novels by Neil Gaiman is an engrossing read on the level of a novel when read through together.
