Maple is an excellent wood to make bars. It is very tough (they make bowling pins and butcher blocks out of it). With proper care, it can survive many years of abuse by drunks.

Hubby went out to try to catch another one of those big catfish. Someone at work told me that there are catfish at Fontana (that's in Cherokee) as big as a car. Can you imagine cleaning one of those things?

Brenda there is a dam in Northwest Alabama where catfish just lay at the bottom and eat all the uh! stuff that gets caught in the screens at the turbines. There are some down there that look like whales. Well over 60 lbs.
