Thought maybe I would start a thread so as to not take up space with my greetings to "old" (as in previous, not age) friends and new friends in other people's threads and since Introductions is probably not the place to hang out either. [sm=sidesmile.gif]

It's great to be back and reconnect with people, but I must say... THIS PLACE IS HUGE!! It's a challenge to find my way around and I don't have the time to sit on the computer like I did years ago!!

I know I promised in my intro thread that I would tell all about my wonderful hubby...but can't right now either yet since I am usually in bed by this time of night!! I get up around 5 am these days so morning comes WAY to fast!!! (or maybe I am just getting old and need more sleep [sm=icon_smile_yikes.gif]

Anyway....thanks for all the warm welcomes and "welcome backs"...and look forward to chatting with you all as much as I am able.

People can be very mean when they don't have to look at you face to face and forget that you are just taking phone calls FOR the company and that you are not THE company. I could tell you worked for a call center when I saw you mention "AUXwork" at Kimberly's forums. [;)]

I take sales calls for a home shopping network. I am still technically a seasonal employee. I started on October 4 (they have some "seasonal" people going back to September), and they now decided most the seasonal people are staying until February 22 (after Valentines Day) and then maybe they will hire us for real. My work has a nice benefit package, but I haven't yet seen it. I do enjoy working starting at 1 PM though.

So do you take calls for just orders or do you have to handle the calls when people get the wrong things or aren't happy? I "get to" take them all. I have LOTS of irates throughtout the day for claims not being pd, not being pd right, membership cards not there, membership not processed,....you name it, I get it. It brightens my day though when people say I was "the best/most helpful person they have talked to" I got three compliments the other day to my manager but I don't ask EVERYONE who compliments me to talk to her. [sm=blush.gif]

Yesterday it was official. I am back to Weight Watchers. Fortunately my employer pays HALF of the meeting costs!!! AND it has been arranged so on meeting days I can have a 1 hr lunch break, instead of 30 min and then just make up the extra half hour after my shift. [sm=icon_smile_super.gif] So, I am happy about that. For any that don't know, I have gained lots of weight over the last couple years [sm=icon_smile_sad.gif] and went to the doctor to have my thyroid checked and all that "good stuff" and found out there is nothing physically wrong with me.. I just eat too much. [sm=unsure.gif] So....I'm back to learn reasonable portions and getting healthier again. "Lessons will be repeated until learned" I have a LONG way to go I am ashamed to say. (over 100 pounds I am disgusted to admit) [sm=widecry.gif] But... "oh well"... can't get less if I don't start working on it.

I am excited that Craig (my husband's name for those who don't know) are going to be starting an online Bible study on the "Sermon on the Mount" today. [:D] We also have his kids over for Christmas tomorrow since we had to postpone it due to Danielle and Adam staying here after being in the hospital and not being "in the mood to celebrate" understandably!! So after work I have to start cooking and cleaning!! He is going to be working OT tonight and tomorrow morning so I have to do most of the prep work for the party...including wrapping all the presents too!

OK...I gotta start getting ready for work. I got up really early to do a load of wash right away this morning and now I can put that in the dryer and get in the shower. It snowed last night so I want to leave a little earlier than I usually do for poor road conditions.

Hi Sheila & welcome back! . . I've not done WW in many years, but I too am trying to lose weight -- over 100 for me also [:'(] . . . I'm going to the gym and trying to eat smaller portions -- it's so hard, tho! [sm=popsigh.gif]

How are Danielle & Adam doing? I was so sorry to hear about their baby. Please know I'll be praying for them -- and you! *hugs*

We have a sales line and a customer service department for people with problems. Some people do sales and customer service, and some only customer service, but I am only set up for sales right now. I used to have people tell me I was nice, but the new moto for the sales line is "don't help with anything extra and get off the phone ASAP" so now I rush through the calls to keep my talk time down.

I know you don't have much time for forums, but there is a Weight Loss Support Group in the Women Only folder. There is one poster over there with the screen name Harvie who started out weighing something like 365 and she has lost like 70 pounds in 4.5 months.

I originally lost weight with WW in 1990 (or close to it) and then went back in like 2001 and now back in 2007. [:@]
Hoping once I get it off this time, it will be the LAST time.... no, it WILL be the last time!!!! [sm=icon_smile_super.gif]
So far so good. Finding out what things count as "points" is VERY eye opening!!! NO WONDER I gained so much!!!
I have been eating HEALTHIER overall (but still some things that weren't) but WAY too much now that I see how much things count as!!
BUT... on the bright side... I got my results back from my cholesterol check today. My LDLs/bad cholesterol levels are all at healthy levels, my HDL/good cholesterol is at 39, which the "nurse" said "was slightly low, dr would like to see it at 40 or above" [sm=dance.gif]
I thought that was EXCELLENT considering how overweight I am!!!! She said I could get that higher with diet and exercise...which I just happen to be working at. [:)]

PC...we are spose to get off the phone as fast as possible as well... but at the same time have "one call resolution"... well... to me that is a contradiction and I go for the "one call resolution" and take care of the caller/member/provider to the best of my ability so hopefully they won't HAVE to call again!!! I don't know about you...but we get "coached" and "scored".... this week before I knew they were even starting the coaching again (they took December off)... they had coached me twice on MOnday and I got 2 100%...I was VERY happy since I get very upset when I don't score that way. Yes, I am a perfectionist. [8D]
Thanks for the info on the weight loss thread....not tonight, of course...getting ready for bed.

Trish... thanks for the hugs and prayers. The prayers of everyone are DEFINITELY working.. that is the ONLY explanation for Danielle doing as well as she is!! I am truly astounded.... AND thankful!!!

OK...gotta go get ready for bed!!!!! I didn't get NEARLY enough done tonight to get ready for our Christmas get together tomorrow so am going to be getting up bright and early to get my hinder in gear!!!!

No, that means that your computer monitor settings are set for too much resolution and too small....change the settings and you will be able to see again. [:)]

What a wonderful surprise to go to my thread and find "Specky" as the last poster!! Welcome back!! Actually, I didn't know you last time you were here but I got to know you at two other places! And it was great that we met a few months ago!

It seems like no matter what I eat I do not lose weight, even cutting out sugar, decreasing starches, etc., etc. The missing element is exercise! I like to go walking but don't because I get soooooooo bored walking alone!

So glad your Dinner with Craig's folk went well. What an exciting day you've had today!

Actually, we didn't make it to the church service this morning. Craig wasn't feel well last night and was still not feeling well early this morning so he slept in a little and we watched Dr. James Merritt on TV, then went to Sunday School...but I'm going to get our church service recorded so we can see it. Pastor is doing a really good series on the book of James!!
