RangerForGod -> The Ark of the Covenant (1/11/2008 6:57:27 AM)

I am a big history freak. Enjoy watching the History Channel, Discovery Channel, and the National Geographic Channel. During the holiday season, and periodically throughout the year, there were several programs about the Ark of the Covenant. Conspiracies abound as to its' whereabouts. My opinion is that it is right underneath the most obvious spot: Solomon's Temple. My thoughts are that the priests hid the Ark during the invasion in an underground crypt and sealed it shut, maybe even destroyed the passage to it, rendering access impossible.
I would like other's opinions (or conspiracies) on the Ark's location.

rcjames -> RE: The Ark of the Covenant (1/14/2008 1:02:11 PM)

Or maybe somewhere else?

(Rev 11:19) And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Thanks
RC

Greetings RangerForGod! Please notice the 'gathering up' from the northern land prophecy regarding Judah and Israel: The Lord gathers Israel and Judah back to the promised land. We see that this is fulfilled as spoken by the Prophet Jeremiah as the Jews were gathered to the promised land from Europe (northern land) and other nations. And: after the gathering, men will no longer say 'the ark of the covenant of The Lord' and another one will not be made. We know that to institute the already fulfilled covenant for day of atonement, one must have the original ark of the covenant. A replica cannot replace it. One cannot simply institute a consecrated 'replica', and be keeping the fulfilled original covenant before The Lord.

We also notice that, at this point in history, no sacrifices or offerings have been instituted and there is no Temple of God in existence at this point.

We know that all of these things have been fulfilled in Christ Jesus and: in Hebrews 9, there is mention of the ark of the Covenant of The Lord.

At this time, is fulfilled what Jesus said to the woman at the well: one will not worship The Father on this hill or that hill, but in Spirit and in Truth.

Ethiopia's Orthodox Church claims to have it. Don't know if it's true, but it's an interesting theory.

They have a whole legend about the Queen of Sheba bearing a son (Menelik) by Solomon, and Menelik coming back to rule Ethiopia, bringing the ark with him. We saw all sorts of cultural artwork depicting the story, and I always giggled looking at them. King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba are always pictured checking each other out, out of the corners of their eyes. [8D]

Years ago some guy wrote a book called The Sign and the Seal claiming the Ark was in Ethipia. The author actually spent a lot of time in Ethiopia trying to track it down. Some of the book is weird (he tries to link the Ark with the Holy Grail), but on the whole it's very good.

The most interesting theory about the Ark that i have heard is that it linked to the Two Witnesses, - the Two Winged Cheribums.

Hey All & Hi RC,,

(Rev 11:19) And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

The relation between God, the Ark, the Cherubims & Two Witnesses.

In Genesis God places the Cherubim with a flaming sword to guard the Tree of Life after God drove man out of the garden of Eden. He stationed them at the East gate and they turned in every direction. Standing before the Tree of Life.

Apon the Ark of the Covenant God asked for Two Cherubims to be made facing each other and between them God would meet Moses and speak to him about the Commandments given to Israel. Within the Ark was kept the two stone tablets given to Moses by God on the Mount.

With these things in mind and with the understanding that Jesus is the Tree of Life that we choose to eat from rather than that of Knowledge, and that Jesus is what now holds the Law and by Jesus we can now speak to God in Spirit, and therefore worship him the Lord Almighty.

John 1 17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.

Romans 8

1 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
3 For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,

We are no longer under the Law,, but live under His Grace. By this we no longer look to the Ark that is physical but one that is spiritual , that being Jesus.

Capture the Dream,
yours In Christ,,

God Bless.

Who.I.Am -> RE: The Ark of the Covenant (1/20/2008 10:15:31 PM)

Hey All & Hi,,

Keeping in mind what i have just posted the idea that was raised went along these lines.

Exodus 37

6 He made a mercy seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubits wide.

7 He made two cherubim of gold; he made them of hammered work at the two ends of the mercy seat;

8 one cherub at the one end and one cherub at the other end; he made the cherubim of one piece with the mercy seat at the two ends.

Just as the Two Cherubims guard the Tree of Life with a flaming sword, just as the Two Cherubims face each other on each side of the mercy seat on which God appears, so too,, the Two Witneses stand before the Lord.

Rev 11

3 "And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."

4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth.

And what are these Two Olive trees? Zech 4 explains it in full detail for us to understand.

9 "The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house, and his hands will finish it. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you.

10 "For who has despised the day of small things? But these seven will be glad when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel--these are the eyes of the LORD which range to and fro throughout the earth."

11 Then I said to him, "What are these two olive trees on the right of the lampstand and on its left?"

12 And I answered the second time and said to him, "What are the two olive branches which are beside the two golden pipes, which empty the golden oil from themselves?"

13 So he answered me, saying, "Do you not know what these are?" And I said, "No, my lord."

14 Then he said, "These are the two anointed ones who are standing by the Lord of the whole earth."

That golden oil is the Spirit of God that they pour out of themselves during their testimony for 1260 days,, there was also mention of the Woman in Chapter 12 representing Gods Grace and how it will flow through the Two Witnesses for the 1260 days.

Rev 11 5 And if anyone wants to harm them, fire flows out of their mouth and devours their enemies; so if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this way.

Or one could say a Flaming Sword if one takes a Spiritual view on these words and the events surrounding the eventual death and resurrection of these two men.

12And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here " Then they went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies watched them.

Is it not after these events that the Ark of the Covenant seen in the Temple

19 And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder and an earthquake and a great hailstorm.

It is after this that Christ Returns, the two witnesses are dead and risen in the clouds and the Ark has been placed into the Lords Temple.

Rev 19

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.

12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself.

13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

Acts 1

9 And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

10 And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them.

11 They also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven."

[sm=icon_smile_fish.gif]This is all i remember at present about the Two Witnesses being part of the Ark. Sorry if it doesn't make that much sense, as it is all over the shop in pieces here,, but i must admit i have never tried to put this stuff together before. I just remember being told the verses in question and roughly how they relate to each other and that was a few years ago.

I don't believe the ark is under solomon's temple, but i heard that the temple gold artifacts which the romans took in 70 AD (?) are at the vatican and the jews want it back.

3cappuccinosmom -> RE: The Ark of the Covenant (3/15/2008 11:14:16 AM)

Digging for the Truth season 1 (History channel) has an episode on the Ark. There are many different theories. I like the Ethiopia one best. [:)] There is actually a Biblical archeology scholar who has been looking for 10 years and thinks there may be an Israelite priest buried at Tana Kirkos, and pointed out some things of interest at the island, which is where Ethiopians say the Ark was originally brought. There are many artifacts on the island that match what would have been in the temple, and one particular rock has holes dug into it for holding up tent poles, in the exact dimensions of the inner part of the tabernacle. It is also interesting that the region used to be heavily populated with Ethiopian Jews (who were there long before Christ).

But, I have to admit, I am a bit biased. [:D]

Starbucks880 -> RE: The Ark of the Covenant (3/16/2008 5:17:32 PM)

My opinion is that the Ark is long gone--probably destroyed long ago. I don't really beieve any of the theories, though it did make for a good Indiana Jones movie.

coach_bob1 -> RE: The Ark of the Covenant (3/17/2008 10:52:25 AM)

The Book of Revelation talks about the Ark being in Heavan, so I think it was destroyed because it was not needed anymore since God made a new covenant with man through Christ.

Back up, there, OK? The new covenant is based on keeping OT laws, which are based on the Law in stone that is inside the ark, and written by the finger of God himself (immutable).
Heb 8:10 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:"
[;)]So the new covenant is based on keeping the Law.

In the last days, those who don't have the mark of the Beast are those who keep the commandments of the law, by the grace of Jesus.
Rev. 14:12

[sm=bigears.gif]

The law includes not polluting the 7th-day sabbath, abstaining from unclean foods, and understanding the meaning of the sanctuary and it's ways and furnishings.

We see in the Revelation that these laws are still in effect in the last days. Only God has the authority to change them, and there's no record to show that HE himself ever has.

coach_bob1 -> RE: The Ark of the Covenant (3/18/2008 10:24:59 AM)

Aparently you missed in Acts where God show Peter in a vision that it is alright to eat unclean foods. Or how about in Paul's numerous epistles where it says we are saved by grace, and not by the Law.

Amigo, apparently you missed everything about the entire point of my post.

I did not miss the truth of Peter's vision and the fact that we are under grace.

the Bible says "sin IS the transgression of the Law. Shall we then sin because we are under grace?"

cybrjewls -> RE: The Ark of the Covenant (3/19/2008 5:17:05 PM)

Greetings favorable Ranger! Please note that some are asserting that The Ark of The Covenant is now presently under The Temple Mount at Jerusalem.

And I'm so glad because I love pork. Pig,pig and more pig.MMMMMM good.

As to the ark. If it still exist,it may be under the temple mount. But I rather believe it lies in undisclosed locale much like Moses. Another words,we ain't gonna find it.
But it's fun looking.
