Good Morning Joy and everyone... My dose of "Dailyjoy" is that the wind chill is only -16* this morning, lol!! [:D] After yesterday's -40* chill, it feels like a heatwave! How about you Joy? Are you warming up too? Others?

A friend and I got to talking about several things going on in life lately and I was telling him I like his "Got Sisu?" sign in his office... which led to another friend asking what the heck "Sisu" was, lol. So it was one of those things where you are trying to explain situations you would use the word, because you can't exactly define it [&:] - so I came back up to my computer and looked for the "official" meaning: Sisu: Courage, tenacity, stubborn determination, energy and a will & ability to get things done; or Special strength, persistent determination, resolve to continue. Now Finns think Sisu is a "Finnish" trait, and perhaps it is, however I think they are qualities that show up in people across the races, cultures and nations too, I'm sure there are any number of languages that have a word that is, in essence - Sisu. Then I started contemplating how "Sisu" fits into my Christian life, does it? Is stubborn determination and resolve a good thing? It can be, but do I also create roadblocks for the Lord with my own will and stubborn determination... Oh ya!! So, this will take some thinking... and a few conversations with the Lord [:D], to see what needs to be done with Sisu...

Hmm, enough rambling for now- hope you are all having morinings filled with DailyJoy!!!

Sisu ...... I like that word!!!! I have sisu big time.

But, with respect to doing His will ...... I think I need to improve on my end there.

Got sisu ...... I think I need to add that word to my daily vocab!!!!

HSGMA.......we have a real heat wave going on.......it was 15 degrees when I got up.......almost wore shorts........LOL

Excellent food for thought girl........Is stubborn determination and resolve a good thing? I don't know....part of me thinks the answer lies more in the end goal..........Am I determined to the extent I put meeting that goal ahead of following God? Then no........

I can't help think of Jacob (I think it was him) who wrestled with God and refused to stop, even when his hip was dislocated, until God revealed His face to him........in that case his stubborn determination spoke of his desire to know God more then anything else.......his resolve to not give up until he was blessed...

In the case of Jacob having determination and resolve lead to Him being able to say "I have seen God face to face, yet my life has been spared"

Interesting question.....lots to think about.......thanks HSGMA

It's going slowly. Other things have taken a priority and I haven't been working out as much. The chiro has this *thing* attached to my neck right now. It's flexible, but a little uncomfortable. He explained it to me ..... twice ..... and I don't quite understand, but he said he wanted to try it for my situation. We'll see how this goes.

I guess I can still do the treadmill, but the bike makes my upper back ache like crazy because of the way it's set up. Nothing I can do about that.

I have been doing some walking during the day. Got the sneaks so my feet don't hurt in these heels. I can't wait til summer and I can go back to wearing my cute sandals again. These pump-type shoes are icky. Just my opinion.

Course ...... I'd much rather be barefoot.

And walking in the sand ...........

................. but that's not possible right now. [sm=popsigh.gif]

I was just thinking that today.........even though I love winter I am ready to get on my bike again.........it seems like years since I have ridden.........

Aha, now I know who to blame for that weight I've been "finding"... you two [:D]!

John, we would never insult you... however nasty bugs squish quite nicely when you step on them, and the snow... well that's what I had Sons for, lol. Seriously, there are things I certainly miss about having a man around the house, but manage to make the best of it most of the time.

Hey Sam, I know I have a rather warped mind sometimes (ok, a bit more than sometimes [;)]), but when you said you ate half a bag of goldfish... well I couldn't help but think "ewwww, they are so wiggly when you take them out of the water and try to swallow them"... poor little fishies... [:D]

Ok I am laughing so hard...........Our building is very well sealed so we can not hear the bad weather alarms when they go off..........So in order to meet safety codes my place of business has decided our department needs weather radios........

My boss selected me to be the contact for my floor and brought me the new fancy weather radios they bought for us........

A co worker and I were listening to it.......and laughing so hard..........it is really addictive.......who would have thought a person could just sit there and listen to voices broadcast weather LOL

So funny
