The pics are great L and P! And wow, only $1 for the cake topper? How cool is that... You have gorgeous eyes too.

Thanks! I thought I looked so bad in most of those pictures! I am just glad nothing major happend! We were worried about my sister the whole time! She is the one on the left side of the one picture and she fell about two weeks ago! She fratured her tail bone! So we cut a lot of stuff out to hurry things along! She is sitting kinda funny in the picture!

i hope to have my story type and up in the next few days! But with moving and such, it may take longer!!!

Oh! Congrats to Jessica!!!! It feels great to be a married woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you picked a wedding date did you try to pick a date that your period would not be a bother? Or was it a date that was special? or was it date that was just available for everyone? What factors did you use in picking a wedding date?

Jes.....Congrats! And the pics are fantastic! I can't wait to be able to share mine! I loved the variety and it looks like you made a ton of great memories.

As for our wedding date, we picked it for convienence. We could both take off the time from work, and it was good for the major family/friends. As for my period, who knows! My cycle is so messed up now-a-days that Aunt Flo may just decide to come and crash the wedding. I'll live if it does, but it is not ideal at all.

This date also allowed us a month after the wedding and honeymoon to finish getting stuff out of my apartment and get it cleaned up. We did not want to have to do all of that and have the stress of the wedding too.

I believe it was the last 2 when picking out a date. I had no idea what was going to happen at my time of the month. It was on June 12 when I got mine. I was so relieved! It would end on June 18th or 19th. I thanked God for not allowing it to get in the way.

Thanks.

I thought bubbles was a smart thing to do. Much smarter than rice, which the church wouldn't allow anyway. They would allow birdseed, but I didn't want to do that either because it would be uncomfortable hitting you, and what if something bad happens, like it going in your ear or eye. That would be a nightmare.

Your sister in Christ Jesus,
Jessica

Jes, great pics! Your dress reminds me of mine with the tiara and the veil. I have decided to wear my viel over my head.

Bethany, I have always thought that you and hubby look like a wonderful couple. You both look so good together!

I think I wanted August 30th because of my cycle. Actually, it would have been better the week before but it's all still good. I shouldn't have my period. ha.

I hope to have our Rabbi start some Messianic dance to just praise the L-rd. This is an area that I'm not sure about either. We mostly will end up not planning too much. Just the usual...have toasts made from several people, a first dance and like I mentioned, some praise and worship. Not everyone who is coming are believers but it should be good thing for them to see and experience. The whole focus of the evening is on G-d. Cake cutting. No bouquet or garter toss. I'm just going to pray about who I can give the bouquet to. I'm going to still make my scrolling presentation while we have dinner.

The rest is just going with the flow.

Well, at the reception we will have the official stuff like our first dance, cake cutting, apron dance. We also have to eat! We have a fantastic dj and MC, so he will keep things moving. My family and friends are great socializers and we all like dancing, so it should be a good time.

Well, my weekend here in Maryland is almost up. I fly back to Omaha tomorrow. I got the marriage license, ordered the flowers, took in my dress for alterations, bought a few more items and had my bridal shower. Not to mention a day of 4th of July fun yesterday. Shew........!

Fluff....congrats on finding the rings you like!

I think I'm finally recovered from the crazy weekend. It is strange....I am really looking forward to the marriage, but not so much to the wedding. Hopefully when the day comes, I won't be too stressed or crazy so maybe I'll be able to enjoy it.

Great on the rings fluff! As for the reception it's a whole lot easier to plan it than I thought...that's if you keep things simple. While it saves money to do things yourself, it's more work actually. The nice things about getting things like favors, etc... wrapped for me is that I don't have to deal with it. One less thing to do. Then again, you can make it a fun acticity with you and your friends!

Perhaps you could think about a theme and then go from there. For me, I don't really have one. I just have a style. As for what to do I decided not to stress on that one and just be very basic. The evening will pretty much be relaxing and go with the flow.

Hey Sharon! You know, a few people have been asking me if I'm getting nervous. But I'm not really. Excited but not nervous. I think that you will be so focused on Ray and G-d's Light shining down upon you that you won't even be bothered by all the hoopla. At least make that your mindset and heartset that day.

I think it all depends. I've asked people what they thought about that idea (not all people who are coming but in general conversation). Most people said that they don't think it's appropriate for a wedding, especially if your theme is on the formal side.

Fluff, how many people in your wedding party? Do you think you could get them with you and your hubby to do a dance number or a skit of some sort? That would be fun! Or pretend and be actors. You, your hubby and the wedding party (maybe even a few family members) can all pretend to be disfunctional. Yell at each other at times and surprise others. Then at the end tell everyone that it was just a joke.

At one time I thought about having a larger wedding at a large Hilton hotel. I thought how cool it would be to have everyone do a scavenger hunt between the ceremony and reception. It is a village hotel so lots of little stores all around. Then at the reception, everyone can talk about their experience and/or win a prize or something.

You may be thinking too hard about the reception. Here is what we plan for mine....

2-3 cocktail hour....introductions.....toasts.....first dance/special dances
3-4 dinner.....cake cutting
4-6 dancing and socializing....final dance.....saying goodbyes....

The time is going to fly by. And people will socialize and entertain themselves.
