I spent the whole night before Mothers Day with my first husband and the part of the night after Mothers Day with him, begging him to come back to me and giving him every reason I could think of. I am remarried.

Did I sin?

I love riddles. Ok. If you never divorced him, how are you remarried?

Hehehe.

I know.

Oh, I had better cut this out. It was clearly getting too juicy.

My first husband was killed in an airplane accident in 1977. I can hardly believe he's been gone that long.

Don't bother with the "I'm sorry" or anything like that. It has been a long time, but I had recently talked to our daughter and granddaughter about him, and he just enveloped my dreams for awhile. It was, admittedly, very nice. Our chldren were in the dreams with us the first night. It is always so pleasant, because after a time like that, I feel like I have actually seen and talked with him again, even though it was only a dream.

Sorry, Abiyah, I guessed wrong. I was thinking along the lines that you'd had another ceremony to repeat your vows.

Sure, I knew you were kidding! It was fun, but I began to fear I had taken it too far.

My first wife and I had a cozy Mother's Day lunch at her house, followed by hugs and kisses.

We went to the same church that morning, but we arrived in different cars and sat in different locations.

Awwwww. I'm sorry!

Do we have to mention Christmas, in order to stay on topic?

If so, Christmas.

So did my husband and I. We never sit with one another at church.

She's in the choir and I'm in the church orchestra. I have to get there earlier to warm up, etc. and, of course, we sit in different locations.

Even on Christmas.

What instrument(s) do you play in your orchestra year-'round and on Christmas? How large is your orchestra year-'round and on Christmas?

I wish I played some instrument well. I have played flute, string bass, and piano, but my musical-instrument-talent is not infinitessimal -- it's COMPLETELY LACKING year-'round and on Christmas!

I play trumpet with our 20 or so member orchestra year round and on Christmas. I've also played cornet and Flugelhorn at different times and near Christmas.

Fortunately my nieces are not guilty of this because they didn't even remember to wish my sister a Happy Mother's Day until it was almost bedtime.

I, on the other hand, am going to have to have a long talk with my 15 yo dd who sent me pink carnations and fixed me breakfast.

Nice! My life-long favorite instrument? Trumpet. Think: Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White.

I love that movie!

It was nice to see Carrey doing some-what clean humor.

My pastor stood up and announced it was Mother's Day. Then he said that if that was news to any of the men out there that they were probably in big trouble.

My pastor forgot about Mother's Day until he arrived at church and saw the flowers for all the mothers. . He repented the rest of the day.

Our "brilliant" staff called for a day of fasting and prayer for May 11 on the previous Sunday morning. I knew then, they bunch of them were in very hot water - whether or not they remembered that it was going to be Mother's Day.

and I doubt if the restaurants in town would appreciate everyone fasting on one of the busiest days of the year.

And I'm sure the wait staffs dreaded Sunday because 'Christians' around here are notoriously cheap when it comes to tipping, even though they have the nice suits and the big cars. I have seen more than once waitresses being tipped with tracts. Which is fine, but it'd mean alot more if they stuck a nice tip in there for the person who has been waiting on them for the past hour. Sorry I got on my soapbox.

I think it's shameful when that happens.

We have several threads on that topic somewhere in this folder. Did you ever see them?
