Being an old salt, I like Moby Dick with Gregory Peck.
I don't like the one with the newer Star Trek captain.
Forget his name, just remember it's French.
But, years ago I saw a silent Moby Dick and a version
shortly after it. I was surprised that ending wasn't like
Gregory Peck. Course, I've never read the book.
They always say the book is better than the movie.
I can definitely vouch that the BOOK is better than the
bible movies and stories they come out with.
Being such a critical reader, it's hard for me to fully enjoy
the bible movies. My onlyl comment is, "Wouldn't it be
just as easy to stick to the SCRIPT?" LOL.
What does that have to do with X-mass? nothing.
Any diversion will do. lol.
It's still just as pagan as when it started and as it will be
when the LORD returns and burns it all up in the chaff.

Speaking of old movies (and Christmas), if any of you have Blockbuster Online (don't know if it's on Netflix), there is a great compilation called 'A Hollywood Christmas'. It was a TV special hosted by Jane Seymour. It starts with the first silent movie about Christmas in the early 1900's and goes up through 1996, when it was made. I watched it last year during the holidays and it was great.

Okay, who forgot to turn the heat on? The west coast is frigid. The home-fuel suppliers are making out like bandits. We're wearing sweaters, jackets, and hats. It dips down into the 30s at night.
Where is global warming?!?!?!?
Actually, I am loving it. I would prefer it was too cold than too hot. Yaaaaahhooooo!

Our turn is coming. Right now, we watch the weather maps, and it is amazing how hot some places are, while we are turning the heat back on.

yeah, thunderstorm in Georgia,,,but not dark enough to try to take a lightening photo. phbbbt. Still I am very glad for the rain, and so are my bushes, and so is the lawn and so is the pond....

I took my stepdad out for Father's Day last night since i work on Sunday and told him he could order whatever he wanted...he ended up getting a 19 dollar steak....last time i say that!

Cloak, I think it's an all inclusive, pick the holiday thread. Carl just sort of started it as a joke, so it's whatever one wants it to be. We have those from time to time.

I look forward to celebrating it in my new area with great anticipation, love, joy and pleasure. I love everything about Xmas...Xmas movies, the cooking, going to church, hopefully we will have snow, I love white Xmas. I hope I can a nice lady who will become my girlfriend.
