Well said, Strat. For many years the Black church preached that it will be better "bye and bye" but many found the Word had alot to say about the "here and now". I believe WOF takes alot of extremes, but I do believe God wants to bless His people to be a blessing NOW.

And just to be clear, the issue isn't weather or not God wants to bless you or not. I do believe that He does give or make a means for us to obtain material blessings, but we cannot command blessings to manifest themselves and effectively use God as a means to an end. That is my main issue with Word Faith teachings...I'm sure that you'll find some in-depth disussions on this in the Theology forum.

Absolutely. We can't and shouldn't use the Word as some kind of witchcraft to have our way, but we do have access to His promises and to stand on His Word for them. I by no means advocate WOF, but it needs to be balanced with the "bye and bye" theology as well.
