All this "MySpace" computer stuff is new to me...Can anyone give me some advice on how to set-up ...background, song clips...etc... I am computer dumb...!! Thanks

I'd like to get some input from some sophisticated users, too, even though I've got some good experience so far. How about some tips for us, Matt? I've tried the myspacesources website you suggested but have been unable to get the premade layouts to load.

I wouldn't describe myself as a sophisticated user! I've only been on myspace a week!
The website I shared allows you set the preferences for the design of your page. Once that is completed, you then copy the code given, and put it in the "About me" dialog box under your myspace preferences!
It's that simple!

Matt, did you have a problem loading the pre-made layouts or did you even try? I think you're a pretty sophisticated user if you can do what you did for your layout!

Yes, I used one of the pre-made layouts to test it out before I made my own. Was so frustrated with all the other websites that give you something with these tacky banners and more on their layouts.
As for the layout for my page, all I did was design myself a background, and then set up the preferences to match the look. It wasn't difficult.
If you have a favorite wallpaper, try it out. You might like what you get.

One of the things I like about MySpace is that it's made to be fairly easy for people that aren't experts. If you want to load your own song clips, you'll probably need to be a music site rather than just a personal one. One of the tabs on the edit profile screen will lead you through loading the clips. I figured it out, so it must not be too hard!!! PM me if you need to ask specific questions.

I got the email notifications of all three of your Friend Requests, but they aren't displaying in my Friend Requests portion of my inbox. Any clue what I'm doing wrong?

Refresh your home page for myspace and it should show up. Otherwise go to the inbox for it and you'll see the section lableled friend requests.

I tried that and it didn't work. I also tried logging out and logging back in, also to no avail.

That worked! It wouldn't let me send another request, but I was able to accept the one you sent.
