Yankee Nut -> RE: THE 2008 BASEBALL THREAD (9/1/2008 1:35:57 AM)

Haven't been on this fourm for a while cause I was haveing some Computer Trouble. Don't know what to think of my Yanks right now after the Jays took two out of three from them. Still a shot at the playoffs though but a slim chance.

I am actually going to be able to see my yankees play before they close the doors of yankee stadium.

yay, that's great! i took my grandmother down to the game saturday where they blew the 6-2 lead. we had perfect traffic for the 3 hour drive each way and great seats. she had only been one other time and this was my Christmas present (last year) to take her to a game and she loved it. it was a great time despite the loss.

i just saw this the other day so i knew right where to look:
from http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/nyy/ballpark/guide.jsp

7:05 p.m. Game Time
4:40 p.m. Yankees BP
5:40 p.m. Visiting Team BP

8:00 p.m. Game Time
5:40 p.m. Yankees BP
6:40 p.m. Visiting Team BP

Yankee Nut -> RE: THE 2008 BASEBALL THREAD (9/9/2008 8:13:45 PM)

The Blue Jays have looked good right now. Not good enough to make the playoffs but still good.

3tulips -> RE: THE 2008 BASEBALL THREAD (9/16/2008 5:32:53 PM)

The Angels clinched it and the Dodgers are not far behind [:D]

uncabeeil -> RE: THE 2008 BASEBALL THREAD (9/17/2008 10:25:36 AM)

Auuuuugghhh!! It's happening again!! Another September swoon by the Mutts. It's almost enough to make me a Yankees fan. ALMOST.

You should become a Royals fan like me. Then your team is out of contention by June and you can just enjoy watching the games without worrying about pennant races!

uncabeeil -> RE: THE 2008 BASEBALL THREAD (9/17/2008 12:14:00 PM)

Are you kidding? I survived the 70's with the Mets, I can deal with anything after that.

Yankeenut -> RE: THE 2008 BASEBALL THREAD (9/17/2008 3:04:04 PM)

It's going to be tough to watch October Baseball Now cause my Yankees are out but I will watch it anyways cause it is October Baseball. It would be a nice send off for Yankee Stadium if they won another world series but oh well.

WOFman -> RE: THE 2008 BASEBALL THREAD (9/26/2008 4:04:53 PM)

Can't believe my Tigers are probably going to finish in last place. Everyone was picking them to go to the World Series this year. Just goes to show you that the games are not played on paper. Oh well, gooooo Redsox!

uncabeeil -> RE: THE 2008 BASEBALL THREAD (9/27/2008 8:10:11 AM)

How'd you like to be a Mets fan right now?

You still have a shot at finishing ahead of us if the Tigers and Twins both win. But I hope it doesn't happen. It's not too often we finish higher than last these days. [:)]

We play a make-up game today with the Whitesox. If we win, we will be tied with KC for last. Oh joy!

I haven't followed much this season, but now that both L.A. teams are in the postseason, I'm very interested. I would LOOOVE a Freeway World Series!!![8D] I like both teams, but I grew up a DODGER fan!

iwillfearnoevil -> RE: THE 2008 BASEBALL THREAD (10/1/2008 1:20:48 PM)

How great would that be!

I am sure the Chicago fans want a L series. After 100 years, I do know what the Cubbies want but ...... [:D]

Roberta_ -> RE: THE 2008 BASEBALL THREAD (10/2/2008 3:48:08 AM)

Giants and A's would've been nice. However, we had that in '89 and it got off to a pretty rocky start.

I, and I think the TV people are hoping for a Cubs-Red Sox series.

broyce1981 -> RE: THE 2008 BASEBALL THREAD (10/2/2008 12:51:21 PM)

I would enjoy a Cubs-Red Sox series. Mostly I would like to see Tampa Bay go down! I just don't like 'em one bit!

iwillfearnoevil -> RE: THE 2008 BASEBALL THREAD (10/2/2008 1:46:36 PM)

yep, no question tv and mlb is pulling for sox for huge ratings. i don't like them, but they are a huge draw!

I would love to see that as well. Three Canadians in the world series would be awesome. Interesting games though so far. I didn't think the dodgers were going to be that dominate against the cubs. (The last time I checked it was 5-0 Dodgers). Also how the Red Sox made the angels look human. Should be interestung to see how it all plays out.

rockitd -> RE: THE 2008 BASEBALL THREAD (10/3/2008 4:09:50 PM)

Cubs are going NO WHERE!!!! GOOOO DODGERS!!!![8D]
