Oh, I know you didn't mean anything by it and it's a common phrase. It's just a pet peeve of mine. I didn't mean that you'd hurt my feelings or anything, just that the saying annoys me... and probably no one else in the world [8D]

I hope y'all have good success TTC. My husband and I had the same choice to make... I'm a teacher and we chose to wait until September to start TTC so that I would be done with the school year if we got pregnant on the first shot. Of course, I wasn't planning on teaching the following year, whether I was pregnant or not, so that was part of our decision to wait. Do you teach a subject (or grade) that a sub. could handle? That was another thing for me. I teach Spanish and our district doesn't have any Spanish speaking subs, so I would have ended up doing just as much work to be on maternity leave as I would be doing to be at school and teaching.

I'll be teaching special education for children in kindergarten through 2nd grades. The case "load" should be small at first, but I know the end of year can be a busy time as that's when many IEPs are done, etc. It just really depends on the students I have. There will be paras working with the kids on a regular basis, so they could PROBABLY be covered. I just don't know that I'll want to go back to teaching after the baby's arrival.

I know you've deliberated about this and won't go back unless you have to. That's pretty much where I am. I was blessed to stay home with my son (now nearly 5). And that's our preference...as in having someone stay home with the children (at least during the first few years and perhaps beyond). DH will mostly be home (he's going back to school)...but it would just be different for me. I know one can nurse a child while working--it's just something that wouldn't work with my DS (never could pump more than an ounce or two & even that was torture). I guess I'm just unsure of the closeness of the relationship, etc. Sorry to ramble on so....

They are genuine wonders we all have, I suppose. And they are important things. Hmmm...maybe I shouldn't dwell on things until they happen. For all I know, it could be another year or two (or more) before we're blessed. I sure pray it's not that long though.

Anyway: status quo here while I'm at it. Day 5 of what will most likely end up being a 28-30 day cycle (if I follow the most recent pattern set). DH comes home on Saturday (Day 7). Maybe that will get things rolling...

Thanks, ladies, I am no where near the Clomid expert, I dont think it was even what did it for me, we got pregnant the cycle we stopped taking it! [&:] But anyway, I will always ramble off my two cents anytime anyone asks, just take it for what its worth! [8D]

Does the trying ever get "annoying" or "aggravating" to you ladies? I know we have the struggling thread...but was just curious if there were others that felt emotions similar to this.

Ie: over the long weekend, I learned yet another couple is expecting (while we're still not) and it just left me anguished. It's really hard & it doesn't seem fair or right that some people are blessed beyond belief with child after child after child....while others have to work so hard (struggle) for one....or even two. [:o][&:]

yes...for sure it did with me. Esp since we were determined that no matter what the outcome we weren't doing any medical interventions...we would just wait on God. People don't typically understand fertility issues to begin with, but when you already have two very close together kids they REALLY don't get it. We got all sorts of rude comments about our family choices...and that's what led to us not mentioning our struggle to ANYONE cause they wouldn't understand.

not saying your feelings are not valid, but please remember that just because people have kids doesn't mean they don't understand or haven't been there.

((hugs)) Yep, Been there, done that. I know I am expecting now, and it seems little consolation, but yeah.. ..it stinks. ((HUGS)) When I found out I was expecting, I actually felt bad to tell any of you ladies, most of ya'll had been trying longer and it didnt seem fair to me.

YES, those feelings are very common. You are wanting something so badly, and when you hear of others getting what you want, there's a little bit (or alot!) of grief. IMO, totally natural.

A few months ago, I completely lost it when I had my period because it signified another month that I couldn't even try because I still had so much emotional stuff surrounding sex, and it felt like it was going to be that way forever.

Yup. After two years I finally really just had enough. [&:] Fortunately, there's typically a chance of getting pregnant every month. Unfortunately, that means every month there is the rollercoaster of emotions. I also struggled hard with the fact that it seemed like medical interventions are really pushed...and I was so convicted that we were not supposed to take that route. (For us only, not a broad brush.) So that added to the struggle too. Like I said, I finally just gave it up. Really gave it up. Because we had decided from the beginning this was something that wouldn't take over our lives. And it was starting to creep in and begin doing that.

Yeah, there's about 20-25% chance of a woman getting pregnant during a given month. Not great odds for something you really, really want.

Question for everyone... What can you do to keep things lubricated down there, better than natually?

That is, if you cycle on a monthly basis. Even though I got pregnant both cycles that we TTC, those cycles were several months long, rather than your "typical" 30-days.

I understand being frustrated with the whole TTC thing, especially when it seems like everyone else gets pregnant without even trying [8D] When I told my sister that I was pregnant, she confided that she was glad it was me and not our sister-in-law (who is several years younger than us and has only been married to our brother for less than a year) because it would be "hard if she got pregnant first." My sister doesn't mean anything negative about our sister-in-law, but I understand exactly where she is coming from...

I was where you were before we had Hannah. For 3 of our 4.5 years of 'trying' to have our first child I was 'anguished' over everyone else having babies but us. It hurt me to feel like God was withholding that blessing from us. But you know what? He wasn't giving those other couples, 'our babies'. He was blessing them because He knew that they were ready for that particular blessing and that their child should be born at that point in time. When someone says that the Lord is not being 'fair or right' by blessing another couple with babies, it takes me aback. Who are we, really, to say what He should (or shouldn't) do in another person's life? He knows the beginning from the end and He alone opens and closes the womb, in His good timing and pleasure.

Try and, if you can, change your paradigm. Pray *more* blessings on those you love and know. Be grateful that those new little people are growing in your friends' wombs. Pray that those new babies will be strong for the Lord and do good things for His will on earth. Those babies aren't just 'something' that those couple's have been given. They are eternal souls created by our creator for a purpose. [:)] If you are able to pray those prayers you might just find your heart softening towards those couple's and those babies and that your heart will be even more grateful and full of love, should He so bless you with another child.

I don't think that being disappointed that you aren't pregnant doesn't mean that you aren't excited for someone else when they are pregnant. I can be perfectly happy for someone else and sad for myself at the same time. It's just that someone else's blessing (whatever it may be) serves as a reminder that I have not yet received the blessing that I've been praying for. If that makes sense... [:)]

I understand completely being sad that someone else is pg when you want to be. But there is a fine line between being sad, imo, and saying that God is not fair or right to give another couple blessings upon blessings while one is struggling or even just starting to try to have their first or second or third child. We must try and keep a proper perspective on God's place and our place in matters such as these. [:)]

Some people say Robitussin helps. I've never tried it. With all my problems, fortunately dryness wasnt one of them.

KY has some liquids now that aren't as sticky as the jelly.
