Thinking of Valentine's Day.... What are some of the greatest "sweet nothings" you've heard from a guy/husband? I mean perhaps something better than "You are so beautiful" Or maybe that is the best? =)

A guy once told me he wanted to lick my teeth. Is that a sweet nothing? *shrugs*

Hmmm...people in different cultures choose to use lots of sweet nothings all the time as part of who they are communicating with women, all ages women I may say, its just galant. I sure heard lots of sweet nothings, still as cool some were as was special because comming from someone special, they do not mean anything, now. Plus there are something very special and meaninful that is to keep between "us 2", as words are flowing in a special moment and to me not to be shared, as the moment in itself. Then there are big difference between perception of hearing sweet nothings and a sweet lovely thing. The nothings goes with the wind and no memory of it but the real felt sweetness are private resting inside ones heart .

Yep, I started thinking of some of my favourites, and then felt it'd be weird to share them, because obviously they won't really have any meaning put forth as flat words on a screen, read by strangers. "Why are you so beautiful? It tortures me!" "I want to be your star." "I want to eat your face." Those are my top three, that I can think of. I'll share a favourite lyric, "When I say you sucked my brain out, the English translation is 'I am in love with you. And it is no fun.' But I don't use words like "love," because words like that don't matter...."

Guy: Did it hurt? Gal: What? Guy: When you fell from heaven? Not Biblical, but cute. Any compliment that includes their eyes makes most women melt into a puddle.

My husband once held my hands, looked into my eyes and said "You're so lucky!" Not so much sweet but it made me laugh! "Don"t you look cute, nice or pretty today." "Will you marry me?" "Come to bed with me?" "I miss you" "I love you"

A few sweet things a guy has said to me: "Hello Princess (my name here)!" He bowwed and kissed my hand. "Um, you're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. I can't stop looking at you." "You're a goddess." He would always call me "Goddess (my name here)." "You're the kind of woman I always dreamed of marrying one day." "The love of God just shines out of you. I love the way you looked at me." "Give me a chance. I'm going to fight for you."

The only one I can think of is, "You're the reason I wake up in the morning."

My husband's mother had died and we were in his hometown for the funeral. I said to him to go ahead and spend time with his family. He held my face between his hands and said to me, "Linda, YOU are my family". For some reason that touched me deeply.

Sitting next to each other at a fellowship night at church, my guy leaned over and looked at our reflections in the window opposite us. He whispered "Look, there's an angel in the window!" And resumed his activities. I replied "Aww... there was... but he's gone now." That was cute. He comes up with the most creative things to say. He also told me I "glow in the dark" (his expression for something is really spiffy). In response to a story I wrote "I loved the writing, and I love the writer." He always calls me "angel" "beloved" or "my love" (or my given name, which is a rarity for me to hear from people). He usually takes something I say and makes into something really sweet.

"I wanted something that could compare to the beauty I see in you, but this is all I could find! Hope it will do" "I held you for a while and told you how much I loved you, hoping it might reach your dreams" "I remember you saying something about hand written letters. So, you are one of the few I am willing to take the time to hand write a letter to" When I am away from you, I am not whole" "I have so much to say, but will simply say I love you!, and save all other words to be spoken and locked away into our minds, our past, present and future" "I look back at our love story, and I know that what we have is real" "I dreamed of a princess, but I recieved a queen" "I am forever greatful to God that my happily ever after is with you" "I'll give you my heart, my soul, and my life, if you will accept them and be my wife" All things my husband has said to me at different times in our relationship

Cherished3 It melted me too! Guys would have an easier time with women if they learned the language of love a little better. A few nice words goes a long way! Sometimes I think the art of romance has been lost. quote:

Hmmm... I don't get a lot yet, but it's the random, seemingly insignificant things that hit me the hardest. Like when I asked if he were mad at me once when he was quiet and he said "that is never the case." Or when he offered to come and get me once when I couldn't go and see him (he lives an hour and a half away). The cutest thing, though, is when we're getting off the phone and he says "i love ya" really fast because there are other guys around him. It always makes me smile.

"With careful hands I handle your delicate heart" For Valentines day he got me a fake rose. I was puzzled at first, but when I looked closer he had written a different reason why he loves me on each petal. By the time I was halfway through them I was crying so much I couldn't finish them. (Who's a big baby?! I AM!)
