I saw two performances today (03/19/2008) and they are great. Steve is going to have a gall bladder operation next week, please keep him in your prayers.

I feel so welcome. (but am I welcome to the delirious fold, or the Heirhead fold? Or both?) Time will tell whether Brian gets another player. Here's the test: If he doesn't get the band going by NQC consider my favorite to officially be the Kingdom Heirs.

This will be interesting to watch!

Well my favorite tenor will always be Brian Free, but they just don't have the punch without musicians.

The same goes for Gold City. They're officially my all-time favorite group, but the current lineup (especially without Jonathan) is on the lower scale of my Top 5 or 10.

With a band and with songs like "What We Needed" (not to mention Arthur Rice), they're almost unrivaled.

Yeah, since Gold City's recent personnel moves, the Kingdom Heirs have moved back among my top (3) quartets with Triumphant and the Dove Brothers.

My current Top 5 quartets (groups for that matter) have adjusted somewhat:

1. Brian Free & Assurance & Kingdom Heirs (tied until NQC when a winner will emerge based on musicians)
3. Triumphant Qt
4. Dove Brothers
5. Gold City (I have to see them with Bruce, but chances are, they'll drop from my Top 5 altogether )

I'm actually going to see them tomorrow and I can't wait! I'm sure they will just be as incredible as ever! It's funny you should mention that Steve is having gall bladder surgery. I saw them about two weeks ago and Steve wasn't feeling very well, from the symptoms we heard about we all concluded that it was his gall bladder. I guess we were right! I'll definitely be praying!

I have to slightly disagree with your comment about BFA not having "punch without musicians." They are still incredible!! You just can't find tight harmony like that anywhere else in the SG industry! The blend so well; while a band does help give them that extra little something, they obviously don't need them to be great. I have seen them several times since Scott left (in Rock Hill, SC,; Lenoir, NC; and Easley, SC)and they are just an incredible as ever! I am, however, anxious to see if they do find someone to fill Scott's place.

Now KH and their band, they are just incredible and they always have been! Arthur is truly amazing, and when he sings songs like "Forever Changed", "He Had To Rise", and so many others it just makes their group incredible! I saw them two weeks ago in Travelers Rest, SC and their new piano player, Andy, is absolutely amazing and adds so much to the group! I'm anxious to see what they will do next.

Well I've seen them 10 times or more (including once without any players) and the time without the players just wasn't as good. They were good, don't get me wrong (good enough to still tie for my very favorite), but definitely not as good. And I agree 100% on the harmony thing. I've been one of BF&A's most ardent supporters the last 3 or 4 years.

The live performance needs the proverbial Scott and Ricky though.

Take the Kingsmen without a band. Wow.

Well, The Kingsmen have been pretty straight-forward about saying their getting replacements. Starting with piano and then going from there. Honestly haven't heard much from BFA in that area. Ah well...

Was there any mention of who would be filling in for Steve? Jonathon Wilburn lives in Tenn. if I'm not mistaken. It would be neat to here him with them.

Jonahtan does not live in Tenn. He lives in the Gadsden Al area.

It was good to see the Kingdom Heirs back in the saddle this week at Dollywood. Andy has picked up on the talking. Wednesday he was without a mike and Steve said they were going to get him a mike. I don't know if that was safe for Steve. The rest of the week he had a mike. He and Steve really had a time. The guys even sang around the piano with Andy singing with them. Of course he is a big TN fan and the big basketball tornament is this weekend with TN playing. KH are off Sunday and Andy was planning on going to Birmingham to see TN play in the tournament.

I also think BF&A sound great either way. Hope you'll be coming to Greenville/Easley in April to hear them. Let me know and look me up.

Billy told me that Steve is fine from his surgery and could be back as soon as this weekend. Josh Garner is going to fill in for Steve until he returns.

Wow--pairing up Josh with Arthur Rice would make for some power harmonies!

I actually won't be able to make the concert at Tremont, I will be at Singing In the Sun at Myrtle Beach that day, so i'll get to see BFA the night before they are in the G'ville area....I was a bit sad about that at first b/c they are rarely w/in 20 minutes of my home in G'ville, but since i'll still get to see them that week I'm ok w/ it now ;)

Yeah, Amy's going to the Singing in the Sun without ME (her favorite concert bud, right Ames?), so I'm going to Tremont without her. =)

Looking forward to meeting you Leigh. I may be the ticket lady, not sure. LOL. A good friend of mine is promoting this and using a trio of mine to open.

Hmm...wonder if Steve would consider following the example of Les Beasley and fire himself from singing so Josh could sing all the time. :o)

Of course, he can't switch to playing bass or Kreis might be unhappy. He'd have to play rhythm guitar or something!
