ORIGINAL: drmark quote:
The unpardonable sin simply cannot be nailed to the Cross, because it is a willful rejection of Christ's payment for sin. So it is NOT equal with sins which can be covered by Christ's Atonement. At least the outcomes of the two are certainly NOT equal! U&U NO! You are now trying to compare Apples to Oranges. YOU CANNOT COMPARE FORGIVEN SINS TO UNFORGIVEN, because you are trying to compare HIS MERCY to HIS RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT, or HIS SELF SACRIFICE FOR OUR SINS to HIS HOLINESS which CANNOT HAVE ANY SIN IN HIS PRESENCE. Sins ALL DESERVE ETERNITY IN HELL, therefore they are all judged equally as BAD by God, BECAUSE breaking ONE LAW MAKES YOU GUILTY OF BREAKING ALL OF THEM. James 2:10 (HCSB) 10 For whoever keeps the entire law, yet fails in one point, is guilty of [breaking it] all. THAT IS WHAT MAKES ALL SINS EQUAL. You stated, "So it is NOT equal with sins which can be covered by Christ's Atonement." ; WHICH IS AN INCORRECT STATEMENT, because "forgiven sins" will be NO WHERE IN SIGHT COME JUDGEMENT DAY. It will be as if they NEVER existed. Christ's shed blood DOES NOT COVER SINS, it cleanses us from sin, and credits Christ's righteousness to our account. 2 Peter 1:8-9 (NKJV) 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Isaiah 43:25 (NASB) 25 "I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins. Psalms 103:12 (NASB) 12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. Romans 3:24-26 (HCSB) 24 They are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Him as a propitiation through faith in His blood, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His restraint God passed over the sins previously committed. 26 He presented Him to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be righteous and declare righteous the one who has faith in Jesus. Philippians 3:9 (NKJV) 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 1 John 1:9 (NKJV) 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Hebrews 10:10 (NKJV) 10 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. SANCTIFICATION Process of being made holy resulting in a changed lifestyle for the believer. —Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary Sorry, but your argument holds no water, because Scipture confirms that "FORGIVEN SINS" are flat GONE! They were washed totally away by Christ's shed blood. Therefore, they are not even there to compare to Unforgiven Sins. Now before we became Christians, every one of them was there, and EVER ONE OF THEM CO-EQUALLY required either a Holy Blood Sacrifice or Eternity in Hell. Each individual sin we have ever committed put Christ on the Cross.
