ORIGINAL: jodavi 'just wondering how old are you Terath? Most of the posts here are coming from a parent with kids and young teens and like I mentioned before, some of us grew up around silly pop culture and just turned out to be fine parents who loves the Lord. Miley might annoy you right now but once you become a parent and starts raising your kids, there will be more things that you'll be annoyed with -- more than what your sister does --and when that happens, you will miss the joy of parenthood. Barney the dinasaur annoyed the heck out of me and my son just adored him when he was in pre-k but hearing him laugh and sing and dance surely gave joy to my heart. It was Barney then now he likes Miley and loves the Jonas brothers. It's okay not to like Miley but trying to make a stand over this...it's not worth it because this will be over in a year or so. So just relax and just have fun with your sister. 17, thank you. It's funny, no one ever questions my age until I mention my family. Ever. Which is one reason why I've decided I will likely not marry and I definitely do not want kids. I've worked with kids a lot-my mom's a elementary teacher-so I'm not keen on having to deal with that 24/7. And Miley is not exactly my idea of fun. Probably the only thing my sister and I can have fun with together is Super Smash Bros. and Guitar Hero III. I try to stay away from her most of the time. Am I the only one to see the outright irony in what's written in the above post and this one from earlier: " Well, what is one of the greatest factors in the breakup of the family in the first place? Corrupted social values come from somewhere, right? Pop culture is the embodiment of moral corruption." I sure don't. Just because I happen to use something that pop culture uses doesn't mean I participate in pop culture. It could be argued that Satan plays a part in black metal (most of which is devoted to Satan and Satan worship), but if I listen to Horde's "Hellig Usvarte," (meaning Holy Unblack, a wholly Christian album through and through) does that make me a Satan worshipper? They're both black metal, right? Same goes for anything else really. The Wii has become a part of pop culture, and so has Halo, but does that mean I participate in pop culture when I play either one? If it does, I'd have to be a monk to avoid pop culture. And in any event, the songs most people enjoy in GHIII, the songs deemed "popular," are the ones I like least. I play the game for songs like "Raining Blood" more than "Rock and Roll All Nite." *shudder*
