What if the guy with long hair is reading an NIV while drinking a beer and listening to Iron Maiden after dancing with his masseur because he lost a bet playing cards.

Then he should be extra special careful not to spill the beer on the pages (or else reading the bible could make him want a beer from then on). He should crank up the music (after all Iron Maiden is only best at high volume). He should ask his masseur if he wants another dance (had to look it up... a masseur is a guy... maybe you meant massseuse). Finally he should read his opponents face a bit better. Losing is not cool.

This is what the bible says about it.

I Corinthians 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

Im not sure what they considered long back then, but I would think that if it were half way down their back that would definately be considered long.

krazyxsinner -> RE: Should Men Have Long Hair? (2/27/2008 11:37:34 PM)

I think men should get the same buzz cut Jesus had or Samson or Elijah or John the Babdist had.

x sinner If you dont except I cor 11:14 how can you except John 3:16?

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

Here's my 2 cents on the topic, and I write this with a tear in my eye: "I grew it out this long to make room for my brain".

define long.

There's two requests for the definition of what "long hair" is...

krazyxsinner -> RE: Should Men Have Long Hair? (2/28/2008 1:28:00 AM)

The crazy group my son has to do a puppet show for on Saturday considers hair touching the ear and collar of a shirt to be long.

I am very fond of the Nature channel - but I would NEVER have deduced from observing nature, that if a man has long hair it is a shame unto him.

If it is in the Bible - I take it literally and keep my hair short. But if I was Paul and was writing about hair - I would not appeal to nature to support my argument.

Wow, go to work for a few hours and another legalism thread pops up and is already at almost three pages. How do these man made rules come to be seen as gospel? Why is it that for a very conservative guy I'm beginning to feel very liberal?

I wonder what it means, then, if a woman dated a man with long hair.

I once went out on two dates with an man that had hair longer than mine; his went down to bottom (mine only went half-way down my back).

We really didn't have anything in common with each other (hence, why we only went out twice), but man! He had some of the most gorgeous hair I had ever seen on a man. Long, silky, shiny and very dark brown.

I was absolutely enamored with his hair.

Apparently it made quite an impression on me . . . these two dates took place over 15 years ago and I still remember his hair.

So I wonder what that makes me to have dated a man with long hair. [:D]

I don't know but I refuse to date a man with prettier hair than mine.[;)][sm=icon_smile_bow.gif]

So, in my little world, long hair isn't a sin as long as it isn't pretty.[8D]

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Should Men Have Long Hair? (2/28/2008 8:23:01 AM)

Oh but, Lioness, you should have seen this man! He was very nice to look at. [sm=hippiesmile.gif]

And not just his hair neither . . . his entire face was gorgeous (and in a very rugged handsome way).

Oh my. I can't remember his name. But I sure do remember his hair.

bluestone -> RE: Should Men Have Long Hair? (2/28/2008 8:24:07 AM)

Our perception of what is long may very well differ from that of those in the First Century. Context, people.

Do you think men should have lond hair, and is it wrong from the Bible's stand point?

You are asking two different questions. Personally, I think men should do whatever they want with their hair, but should also consider that his hair length may be frowned upon by certain employers.

I draw the line at bald men with ponytails. That's not just sinful, it's silly looking.

Try being a liberal here. I'm not sure if I'm really from Earth anymore.
